Nice Lil Break Randos

-10 days off work was a nice little re-charge. We don't really vacation in the summer like many/most, so always looking forward to our Anniversary Trip, this being our 5th (been together 8) Hard to believe. #timeflies

-Irma was a slight annoyance, given that all Florida airports were shut down & flights cancelled...and that's where every non-direct flight connects through.

Found a direct from Boston through JetBlue (which was great), so we left a day early and spent my birthday up there on the harbour. Weather was unreal, took a water taxi across, hit Quincy Market, a few bars, birthday dinner at Legal. Nice little evening, we both loved the vibe and will be back for the full/actual experience sooner than later.

-7 days in Aruba, which was just perfect as always. Seems over time everyone has their "spot" when it comes to a beachy vacation, that's ours. Outside (way outside) of the hurricane belt, never rains, friendly/safe, awesome food...and Casinos for dad. About all we need.

-Always a Craps guy, been really loving Blackjack over the past year -- finally have it down, I believe. Was a little intimidating for awhile b/c unlike the dice, people are counting on you to make the correct play. Spent a little over 20 actual hours at the tables during the week, and came out ahead

-Got a little offended when nobody mentioned I GOTTA WHOLE LOTTA MONEYYYYYYY during the in-game tradition talk. That's the best new tradition in the SEC, imo. :alien:

-Man, that 'Origins' podcast w/ the cast of Curb was just fantastic :fire::fire::fire:. What a genius show.

-Knocked out 3 books: Hillbilly Elegy (very good), The Sympathizer (eh), and Heads in Beds. Shout to Anth on the latter, one of the most 'fun' books I can remember reading.

-Nothing left to be said about the SC game, but I just loved the *way* we won. Felt like that's the way the SEC has beaten up on US for 30 years, just a slow-burn beatdown, where we weren't even at our best and it didn't come close to mattering.

-Had a lot of time for random thoughts, of course you end up forgetting them all when it comes time to post...but this one remained -----> Wonder what Chad's & Mrs Chad's social media wedding hashtag that we all have to use ANY TIME we discuss the wedding is going to be? Believe he's the first of the crew to be married during that era.

-Pretty jacked about this weekend, this schedule setup kinda weird -- our first real home game & football get-together is 4 weeks into the season...don't really recall that ever happening?

Looking forward to seeing everyone, their kids, etc. We typically ghost in the summer, even moreso this time around -- just another reason I'm always so excited about Fall.

Roll Call?

-Oh, and thank God it's getting back to hot weather, 90+. Was freaking out about the football game, nothing I hate more than watching night football w/ a windbreaker and nice little fall crisp. Anyone doing a pool/lake & football double? #Summer4Eva [eyeroll]

-So we finally don't get in w/ BtB/ACL and they are up a billion units in the 1st 2 weeks. Typical

I think I mentioned Heads in Beds on here, BBdK. It's a good book for travelballs and I am excited to use some of the tips.

Florida by 10 sounds about right. We're better than we thought after EKU but not as good as we think right now. South Carolina was just worse than everyone thought. Call it the Muschamp Effect.

At least this won't happen again.

For a line to move more than 2.5 points already that is a lot more than BJW making 50-100 bets.

Smart money also bets early when the line isn't moving the way they want to at least get a placeholder. Absolutely no one nationally should be too excited about us right now after 3 very mediocre wins.

I got ridiculed here for linking a site last week before a line was out, but if you can read the handicapped details they predicted us a win and by running the ball and controlling the clock without turnovers. So here is this weeks link with about the same score/spread, and of course they do miss:

I enjoyed reading this recap of your most recent excursion and I will also be attending the big football match this weekend.

Feels a little like South Carolina week back in 2007, but add in the Streak. That was a monster game at the time, and I had butterflies all week just thinking about it. 2007 was great and all, but we went 2-5 down the stretch and laid 2 turds at Carolina (went 6-6 and lost their last 5) and against Miss St (Sly Croom) at home.

Got the same feeling that we *might* have something special brewing this season, and still can regardless of the outcome against Florida. But the way the schedule sets up this game could be the difference between a historic UK season and a good one.

Like SAE mentioned last week or something... These Ohio dudes are a different breed and bring a different mentality to UK football. They a bunch of dogs, aren't going to be intimidated by the Florida logo & give no effs whatsoever about the streak, what happened over the last 30 years or the SEC pecking order in general.

Our defense last week was out there knocking heads and bringing the wood. Physical and fast.

Bravado aside, if I ran this site I would ban every single poster who mentioned rushing the field unless it was in reference to years past and mistakes made.

That should be a spontaneous celebrish and treated as such, open discussion is uncouth and taunts the football gods who have had it out for us since we gave the Bear a goshdarned gold watch.

Was reading on another forum that there have been tourists dying at resorts in Mexico from alcohol poisoning. The alcohol has been tainted somehow. FYI.
When I was in Egypt for a summer we were drink this beer called Maxmeister or something. After a month of us drinking it the bars no longer carried it. After asking the bartender about it he told us it had been pulled because it had an unsafe level of iron....explains some things.

-@B.B.d.K. I saw that about BtB too and just thought, yup that figures.

I mean seriously...for f**ks sake we are Kentucky football and have enough to combat with the Indian burial ground, curse of bear, streak, and just bad program luck in general.

There have been roughly 7 games during the Stoops tenure that fans/media have talked about rushing the field if we win. We have lost all of them. Accordingly, you'd think people would back off the "SHOULD WE RUSH THE FIELD???" talk. You'd think.

Also, don't like being the trendy underdog pick. That never seems to work out well for anybody, much less the Kentucky Football Wildcats.

On the other hand, UK Erik has weighed in...
