Watched the Netflix Tony Robbins documentary...he charges 5k for a week long seminar???
That 'documentary' came across as contrived. Pretty much a two hour infomercial. Was hoping for more. Always been fascinated by that guy. I don't think he's an out and out charlatan by any means, but it was mostly fluff.

it is going to take 22 months to fix up a convention center? smack dab in the middle of downtown?

this f'ing city sometimes

Wednesday Randoms:

- Louisville just nabbed Darius Perry, a Top 50 CG, to go along with Top 30 Malik Williams. Solid start for their class. Hooker scandal or not, appears the Cards aren't going anywhere.

- Fantasy football draft on Saturday. We go out to the dilapidated casino in Rising Sun. Most of the dudes golf then we have our draft, get bent and gamble $5 tables at the smokey casino with a bunch of townies. Good times had by all. It's especially important now that a lot of my buddies are having kids, so they rarely get out.

- I keep it classic when it comes to ice cream- Hot fudge sundae with the works- whip cream, nuts and cherry. OR, just give me a blizzard from DQ.

- Leave for Boston next Wednesday. Can't wait to get out of Dodge. Then the lass's family comes to town Labor Day weekend, which I'm actually really looking forward to. Then IT IS ON. Best four-month stretch of the year- college football, fall weather, college basketball, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. [banana]

- Pitt going retro. Never did understand why they changed their classic colors and unis. Who else has those colors- as opposed to the lame navy and old gold that about 50 other programs rock.

Never realized before that Robbins drops an F bomb in every other word, so that's kinda unique for someone in that arena I guess.

With an estimated net worth of 500 million...think I may have to step up my f bomb game.

Does Tony Robbins (or any of that stuff) work? I mean I guess it does for someone since it's advertised like all git out. But seems like snake oil to me imo

Bought a waterproof golf carry bag the other day. Not sure what I think of it yet. Not as many pockets, but it's like a Yeti for my clubs and golf stuff...so I guess that's cool?

Seems like the world is much more black/white than it used to be. Maybe that's just social media/Facebook highlighting the extremes, but I just don't remember things being that bad or people (at least younger people) complaining about it when I was growing up in the 70s/80s. I remember adults getting upset about busing/etc., but for the kids, it really wasn't an issue. I was bused downtown, and all my classes were integrated all the way through school. Played public school basketball and football...never really had any issues. I guess the moral of the story is that social media brings out the worst in people...and adults pretty much ruin things for everyone.

Rio looks awesome on NBC. Definitely on my bucket list to visit...do a combine trip with Buenos Aires.

Usain Bolt basically jogs the 200 and wins his heat. Hilarious. All the other qualifiers are running close to 100%.

Paul George is apparently a big FIFA guy. Visited Ronaldo (the original one) yesterday. And he's met up with Messi and James in the past year. [thumb2] One more month until the release! Can't wait. Hopefully they make scoring a little easier than last season.

Maxpowerrr clearly needs an Hour of Power, imo.
Clearly, really.

I always imagine those things being like when Mr. Burns managed the plant softball team.

"You there, Strawberry, hit a home run!"
*Darryl Strawberry hits a home run*
"Excellent"

Then again, look at me...

Oh and social media really does a great job of exposing what raging assholes a lot of people are. That and cute back to school pics!

99% of that self help stuff seems so ridiculous that I wonder who are these fools who buy this shit...and then I get on Facebook and see women sharing bullshit self-help and inspirational quotes and mumbojumbo daily and I get my answer.

-Probably wait until RTIC(or whatever) makes a knock off. Or not. Might just grab one. I like the shape of that one better than my current one.

-I like that Ursch's cooler is worth more than his car.

-Going to be a little wet but low 80's and lows in mid 60's. You all should love that. Football starts in like 10 days.

-Also, I lied. Drank last night. We walked over to the local park which was hosting Jazz Nights, let the little man go nuts on the jungle gym, drank a collide, played with the dog, watched a few 10 year olds try to kill themselves on the jungle gym. All American stuff and things you can't do in January.

Yeti has done an incredible job of marketing (obvious), they can sell coolers that are actually made for like 1% of the world's population to everyone for an exorbitant amount of money. Every charter boat captain has at least one now and guys that work for those captains spend all their hard earned pay to buy a set that they will use to hold beer in for 6 hours a couple times a month. And the hats are EVERYWHERE.

Congrats, I guess. My Coleman actually heats up my beer like a microwave. It sucks!

No kidding! I have a MacGregor brand cooler (it's made of canvas and I got it at Wal-Mart for free when I bought a 100 pack of frozen Bubba Burgers for $1.98) and a 20 pound bag of ice is completely melted within 5 minutes! Arrgh!

OH, shit. Speaking of that. My #1 pyramid scheme facebook stay at home hussy.

She just had her 3rd kid like a month ago and posted this: Mama slapped on a wrap tonight and the results in 45 minutes are amazing. Time for me to get vulnerable... If I get 100 likes on this picture, I'll post my before and afters. Who wants to see!? ‪#‎TimeToGetReal‬

Then she posted it. [sick]

It's so awful I'm not even going to put it on here. Looks like an 80 year old ass and no difference between before and after.

Oh... and she won a "1/2 cabin" at their annual cruise. :joy: "1/2 cabin earner."

Dear Lord.

The Tony Robbins stuff supposedly works for 99% of the people that attend for a couple weeks to a month and then all but 1% go back to the same lazy, self-loathing version of themself that was there before the convention. Hell, listen to a short snippet of Eric Thomas on youtube. It'll make you want to do better and work harder for a few mintues. But if it helps that person, have at it.

Chase, best large TV that will allow me to cast my laptop on without any additional products? Would like to be in the 2-3k range and 70ish inches. Or less would be better.

Little August nostalgia- what was better than that first night when your entire crew was back together drinking and getting rowdy?

Oh- you know who I hated- those people who would go home over Labor Day weekend. TF?

I own a YETI rambler and a coldster and love them. I'm a brand whore. In fact, when I upgrade my iPhone later on this year I'm gonna take the Apple stickers that come with it and slap them on my YETI stuff and be King Basic, and you will know my name and tremble before me.

I'm heading out of the office at the moment but check rtings.com. Very solid site to find out what's best for you.

With just a quick look, you may want to consider this 75 inch Sony.

Or this Vizio for a cheaper option.
