The way Pete was walking Davis off the field you just know he bet on the Mets that game.

"Come on to the dugout Eric I don't need you that close to home plate".

-That fight though and the call:joy: "Donaghy (sp) is a karate EXPERT." Wonder what that meant back then. He had a picture of himself in a gi in his locker or what?

-Always love seeing someone at the gym a bit out of shape, come in, get a trainer and hopefully start down that long, arduous path. It's a weird journey of never being completely satisfied but really enjoying the changes along the way. I really try and go give them a handshake or pound just to say nice work.

-Up and at it early today. Heading out to go help the lady's grandpa out around the house. He's a hoot. Loves talking trash and giving everyone grief about all the little things they aren't doing right but it's his way of having fun with you. Goes to bed at 530 every day, supper at 4 when we eat out with him. Big fan of that generation as most are.

-GYERO's own Cubbies back on track 7-3 last 10.

-Looking forward to getting back to the bluegrass in 2 weeks.

- Read an article a few weeks ago saying member places like the Elks are making a comeback for the younger generation. Actually went to one last night for a steak dinner and benefit with my dad.

- Best non-sports podcast going right now is Malcolm Gladwell's.

- If you want to see some :fire:, check out this girl on Instagram-> @sierraaaskyee. My god.

- Malik Monk is a damn freak. Can't wait to watch this team play together.

* Of all those quotes from anonymous SEC coaches on UK, this one sums it up best: "They have enough talent. They’ve done a really good job recruiting, but you don’t see a lot of cohesion to what they’re doing on either side of the ball."

* I love those true crime re-enactment shows on channels like Investigation Discovery, Reelz, etc. but man that is some porn-level acting. Shew.

* I love Siracha and I love beer. Not sure how the two would go together, though.

-If there is one good thing about August/Late Summer, it's this weekend for me. Killa, Chase, TurboK, Harmon, and myself will be representing GYERO this year -- biggest field in tourney history, should be a fun one.

-Pair of 74s last weekend, striking the ball like a dream -- but putting like an 18 handicap. Hit 29/36 greens over the weekend. You do that and aren't Par or better, something is really wrong.

Pretty sure last year's 75/73, and Tied 5th finish -- along with a $1,000 check for closest to the pin & taking Uncle Ben for $300 in Wii Mario Kart/Tennis/PingPong/Shuffleboard will be the highlight of my mid-life Eli, but we'll see. Anything below 154 and some extra money in my pocket when I leave will probably be acceptable.

-Tonight is Thursday night game night at Ben's, maybe my favorite night. Last year I passed out with a controller in my hand, and woke up to 17 missed calls from Killa having missed my tee time. Went home, threw up in front of Drew Franklin's mom who'd brought me a pie, and met Killa/Chase on #7 -- and spent the next two days feeling like complete deathly shit -- and of course had my best finish in 15 years. #Golf

...should have a built in excuse to be tamer, as he his co-hosting a reception with Rand Paul this evening, followed by an 8am tee time with him tomorrow morning at Victoria National. No clue wtf is up with that, but hopefully will assure an earlier night.

-House is listed, and we've had 2 showings in the first 24 hrs it went live. Going to see one ourselves this morning at 10am. Already miserable, what a mess of a thing to deal with -- no clue how Clark does it every year or so.

-Free Rio package at beatinthebookie.com if you want to add some small bets to make it a little more interesting. #gambol

-o_O at Monk's dunk. Pretty much a lock he leaves here with the best dunking highlight mixtape we've seen at UK in a long ass time, maybe ever.

-My jam of the summer ---> Controlla. Man, that thing is just pure vibes for me.

-Short day, Madisonville bound. Hopefully we can eventually get this thing back to the ultimate guy's weekend sooner than later. Miss some of the crew joining me.:golf:

Dude will be unreal. Think he'll be special special player.

The defensive potential of the back court is hard to fathom, IMO. We know Briscoe is a bulldog and moves exceptionally well laterally and Fox is a spider who can recover and make up ground with his length/wingspan. But if Monk commits to guarding and buying in...man.

Good read on the offseason workouts:

http://mycn2.com/kstv/uk-basketball...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

The now-famous late-night workouts (see the video here ) last well-past midnight, which seem difficult enough, but the guys are back up and working out together at 6:00am. Then they have classes and tutoring…and then back in the gym. They break for a while…then the late-night workouts again. It’s been grueling, especially for the freshmen, who have not been challenged physically to this degree, but it’s also established a sense of ownership and accountability. They’ve struggled, but it’s been together. They’ve had success…and it’s been together. These workouts are setting a high bar for what will be accepted in terms of attitude and effort and it’s all been driven by the veterans on the team, which is exactly how John Calipari wants it to be.

Nice of Killa to get rid of Cabin Night, by far the best night of the trip. That place is awesome, badass setup. SMH I wont go to the Eli again unless the Cabin is part of it.

Think this team is going to closely resemble 09-10 with some differences. This group will be a better shooting team but not as much back to the basket power. Think this bunch will have that edge to them we haven't seen maybe since Wall and Cousins. Fine by me.

Defense to offense will be the key, especially early on to get easy buckets. Monk, Fox and Briscoe playing the passing lanes... SHEW.

I can see the comparisons. That '10 team wasn't the most offensively cohesive unit- lots of great parts, but the team was put together on the fly so they didn't all fit together. That and Wall/Bledsoe didn't stop the drive as well as you would've expected. They made a lot of plays on their athleticism alone.

Beisner is pretty good. I feel like he's wasting away at CN2...

I pretty much never think to watch his KSTV show. Weird channel, I guess.

Fun times playing with Cawood last night.

Bummed I'm missing Raft Up this weekend, but I'm excited for my boy Seth's wedding. Shew, is this what its like to be Chad?

Still should get some quality lake time in here the next two days.

The above ground pool moving with Adrian or nah?

We really need football season to come just to save MaxP and Willy. I've gone from contempt to feeling sorry for them.

My old school district started back to school today and I'm over here on my couch like :pimp:.

I think this UK team will be a blend of the '09/'10 Cats and the '10/'11 Cats. Explosive talent coupled with a blue collar work ethic is a good formula. Granted, this take is all sight unseen.

Speaking of sight unseen, I've had tons of folks try to sell me their house lately. Madam Strokin is now in the same building as me again. We still live in the house that "we" built 6 years ago and that's a 40 minute one-way commute. I didn't mind the drive at all last year, but with kids and her work day and bball season looming, the idea of moving is becoming more real.

If the bartending gig doesn't work out, I think Rogue is tailor made to be a personal trainer or a GNC cashier. Perfect mix of condescension with a polo two sizes too small. Probably an alright dude in real life though.

Theory: part of the reason football is so popular is the build up. Not media buildup, but the fact that sportsballs are so hungry for something other than baseball. Fantasy drafts, perfect weather on the horizon, outdoor drinking in public, and lower-socioeconomic backgrounders knocking skulls. Pumps me up until October!

Thoughts on ham and cheese loaf?

Frankly, football is popular because it's easily the best spectator sport going. Pretty simple. Basketball is MY favorite, but I couldn't win an argument comparing it to King Football.

*I can't be the only one who couldn't give a shit less about KSR's meeting yesterday.

*Eli week. Starting on 10, again. Showkiller bitches about tripling the opening hole, and that is awful...but I'll never forget my 10 right out of the gate. Piped it down the middle and had a flip wedge in. Managed to flip it in the water three straight times while Graham rolled in the fairway laughing. Can't say I blame him. It was pretty funny, and I definitely would've done the same thing.

@BBdK are you going to make it back for the shootout tomorrow? Need you and Showkiller in that thing to have guys I can root for.

Fully expect to play poorly this year. Haven't played as much as usual, and played pretty bad on my golf trip last weekend. Really plan on enjoying the ride this time. No club breaks, throws, or temper tantrums. Just bad golf at a soothing pace. 91-87.

* We basically hired the defensive version of Ron Zook, no?

*My daughter starts kindergarten this year, and her school PTO has a thing where parents can buy all of their kid(s) school supplies for the year from them, in one pop, for $20. Its pretty fantastic since I have no doubt we'd spend closer to $100 on her school supplies plus there is almost nothing worse than school supplies shopping.

*Malik Dunk...it's coming. I'm cumming.

I think it's ridiculous that you guys enjoy and contribute money to a sport that basically endorses brain damage. But as long as you're drinking alcohol, and you're having a good time, it's all good.

Eli [banana] Randoms...

*Three kids, including twin 3 year olds makes it tough to add Thursday night to the mix anymore. Maybe in the future when they are a little easier to wrangle solo but at this point my wife is a trooper as is.

*Temp actually looks pretty decent, 85 both days as compared to the typical 90+. Just need the scattered storms to miss on Sat.

*Who wants to know about my golf game? Nobody, okay, moving on...

*Alaskan Bush People is my favorite show on TV, I'm not sure what that says about me as a person.

*It's not shtick, I think we are winning 7 games this year and I think Drew Barker is going to be good. Bless my heart, I'm a slow learner.

*Monk has a Westbrook type of ferociousness to his athleticism.

*Well that's about all I got, unless you want me to fill up half a page with anecdotes about how my 3 year olds do weird ish like talk to their poop before they flush it, then I'm out.

I'm with you, Chad. But I'm tired of it by late October. Then again, I'm in the Titans media market and a UK fan. That means the season is over before November usually. I love watching the big time games, but I'm not used to being totally invested in those games. Therefore, football season roars in like a lion and then fizzles out like a popcorn fart.

If you record a football game and fast-forward through the dead time/commercials, there's basically about 15 minutes of action. It's the perfect DVR sport, honestly.

If some gear using meathead came up to give me a condescending fist bump at the gym while I'm trying to maintain my non-heart attack having physique in the morning going on 5 hours sleep I'd huck a 45 plate to their temple.

Sorry/not sorry for expanding my sports horizon and having some civic pride, wcc. You can be a real bumpkin sometimes, you know that? That being said, I'm voraciously reading every Bengals camp report and I hate myself for it. "Ooooo! Sounds like Marvin is really focused! Dalton is becoming more vocal! Jeremy Hill has a chip on his shoulder!" <---- me as my outside me shakes his out of body head

Thoughts on living out in the country vs. the immediate suburbs?

I grew up about a half hour from Cincinnati. My parents have 5 acres and live on a huge hill that has about 10 other houses. My aunt and uncle live across the street. My uncle's brother lives down the street. We pretty much know everybody. Our dogs run loose and we know all the neighbors' dogs, too. My cousin's building up there. It has some beautiful views of the country side and is peaceful and quiet. We grew up playing in the woods, playing baseball, football and basketball all the time. When I was a teenager, I could have huge parties and never have any problems with police or neighbors. It was a great place to grow up and I still enjoy going out there.

There are a couple houses for sale out that way. We looked at one yesterday on a whim while hanging out at my folk's house. Honestly, I never considered living that far out again, but it was her idea to give it a look. It would be an adjustment for me going back to having to drive 30 minutes every time we wanted to have a social activity, but I'd get used to it. Would be nice being close to the family. I think it would be a huge adjustment for the lass- the drive, not being able to just grab an Uber, etc. I was she even brought it up. I could see it in a few years, but not sure today.

krazykats does the same thing, but for a 50-inch television. One of these days, he's gonna strike it rich in Quibids and "buy" one of those suckers for 14 cents. Good luck, brah.

TVs on Craiglist everyday from $50-$150, brah!

Stick to patting yourself on the back for paying cash on 6 yr used imports and saving even more by skipping oil changes.

College football is strong for me through the SEC Championship game and the playoff has added another layer. Plus, the Bungles have been in the hunt. Fantasy football has helped my NFL fandom a lot, too.

-Depressed I'm not itching to bust out of work early, grab a case of beer and a couple boxes of balls then heading to MCC. I'm 100% in next year. Lee, get the cabin lined up. ABH is right, that's easily the best night. I'll bring the craps table.

-Growing up we spent most of our non-school time on a 35 acre farm. I loved it back then. Live stock, a couple ponds, big ass creek, tons of room to roam and play. However, in the last month twice I've spent a day out in the deep sticks of Kentucky. No interest.

-Football is fantastic to watch. Easily the most entertaining sport.
