Beale changed her name after her recent divorce from Blue Equity CEO Jonathan Blue, but Beale isn’t her maiden name. She wanted to keep a short, simple B-name, so with the help of friends, she came up with Beale. She says it sounds like who she is.

That's actually how I came up with the idea to rename myself Max Power. It sounds like who I am.

Football needs to learn gd offseason, is what football needs to do.

Football needs to learn offseason? Learn sports, I'll help you.

***Soccer is a spring sport in middle school. 7th and 8th grade players play freshman and JV soccer in the fall, then middle school in the spring, then travel in the summer. Add in indoor soccer in the winter and you find the off-season.

***Baseball is the same thing. Middle school in the fall. Play up in the spring. Travel all summer.

***Basketball does not stop. Ever. Discussion over.

***This year football started on July 11. Contact restrictions push full contact to August 1. 9 practices before 1st and basically only scrimmage opportunity. 14 practices before first game. Season lasts until December 4 for some but most are done by November 5.

And don't fear two a days anymore. Teams get a one week window for two a days, but can't have consecutive two a day practices. The real kicker, the window is before full contact is allowed. Teams are in shoulder pads/helmets only.

As for off season, you might lift a couple days a week, unless you play a second sport. Since no team activity can involve a football outside of the fall season and the short spring practice window, seems like a lot of off-season to me.

***Don't forget about band. Those touchers practice more than college teams.

Band falls outside of KHSAA regulations. They have no heat restrictions, no dead period, no time restrictions. They go from marching to pep band back to marching. Most schools band is also a class, usually last block of the day, followed by after school practice. Nobody talks down to or verbally abuses their team members like band directors.

I don't get band.

* Anth is all about wanting everyone else to be pregnant or married. Not sure I've ever seen anything like it from another dude.

* Bavettes is indeed great. The basement seating is one of my favorite atmosphere's for any restaurant I've ever been to. Top five in the overall steak rankings.

* Not sure how we get to a bowl game. Unless Barker develops into something that I don't think he is or Boom stays healthy the whole season, we still don't have the firepower to overcome having a shitty defensive line and an average set of linebackers.

* I just wish parents would push kids to multiple sports instead of sending little Johnny to year-round baseball from 7 on. That would have driven me crazy and all the kids I knew that did burned out as teenagers.

* Biggest high school regret outside of having the same girlfriend for my final two years would have been not playing baseball after wrestling ended. Especially considering how horrible I was at wrestling and baseball being the only sport I have ever been halfway decent at.

The reality today is that if you don't focus your kids time on 1 or 2 sports then they are falling behind. Unless they are exceptional.

My FIL played both ways in high school then played linebacker in the SEC. He is in his mid 60's and has trouble remembering what room he sleeps in. He sees a specialist at Emory and they attribute all of his difficulties to football.

After his playing days he was a Back Judge in the ACC then the SEC. The strange thing is he can tell story after story from his "playing days" and his "official days" about Steve Spurrier, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Bill Curry, etc, but literally cannot recall what he was told five minutes before.

I don't have kids, but I would certainly understand parents not allowing football into the sports rotation.

Good grief. I feel sorry for the few desperate, misguided souls who chose to be on "Team TAB".

Really cool that she picked a new name that she feels good about. As simple as changing clothes.

Yup, I used to throw lots of parties. Just steps away from your house.
Yep, but you were living in Hamburg when you hosted the WC Xmas party. I specifically remember not having any desire to drive out there.

Would have made the trip to Waddy though.

Was re-watching the 30 For 30 Bo Knows and this whole thing has me wondering if we'll ever see a Bo or Deion again. Probably not which is sad because those guys playing two sports was amazing. Also cements their(especially Bo) legacy though as some of the greatest athletes ever.

Or maybe he's pulling a well-thought out shenanigan. Will have to work this into my life in my 50s and on.

Umm, I've never hosted a WC Christmas party. I've offered a few times, but just got negative energy. Try to keep up.

The article's author really sums up the typical Louisvillian of today:

"...She was born and raised in New England, but she's a Southerner by choice ... and co-host of the 'Louisville, Not Kentucky' podcast."

Wow. Typical Louisville BS. Wow. (Sad.)

I'll take your word for it. Just seems like kids that play football these days have to do summer camps, spring camps, "optional"-but-not-really lifting in the off season.

Seems like kids that play basketball, soccer, baseball can get away with a balance of playing other sports if they choose but football, not really.

Speaking from a position of perception, not knowledge.

Any GYERO who hasn't checked out "Last Chance U"- the 6-part Netflix doc series about a Mississippi JUCO football program, should. It's outstanding for sportsballs like us. And guarantee @B.B.d.K. will be raving about how sexy the academics advisor is- pretty much a homeless man's Tami Taylor.

Surprisingly not at all surprising for that town.

Finished Last Chance U about an hour ago. Unless JF3 has some feel good story coming he's going to be easy to root against if he's Auburn's starter.

Dale Murphy - Don Mattingly - Sandy Koufax

Vs.

Dave Winfield - Eddie Murray - Bert Blyleven

Who you got? All players in their prime.

What's not to like about JF3?

He went to Scooba, was way better than "The Honky QB," scored 6 TD's in a game when he had his "one shot," let the advisor know what's-up when it comes to taggin'-N'-baggin' as a high major athlete nowadays, got good grades, kept his head down, tried to help out goofball with his SEMO fiasco, made it to Auburn, and is now dating an Auburn softball player with a big ol' butt per my following him on Twitter since this weekend.

What is not to like?

Oh wait, are you a low-key racist guy from Lousville who avoided black people by going to private school at all costs? My bad.
