Counterpoint: The deadliest battle of the Revolutionary War saw about 1,500 men killed.
Don’t see how that’s relevant to what I was saying but we also fought basically guerilla warfare as much as possible and weren’t stupid enough (most of the time) to lineup and get mowed down by the greatest military on earth at the time.

We also didn’t really have a standing army so it was farmers, blacksmiths and teachers* that had little if any training going against seasoned, paid soldiers. Only had a population of 2.5 million with half a million being slaves, versus 8+ million.

*Cant imagine what Kolb would say about teachers having to fight in a war, oh wait he already thinks they are.

Revolutionary War:

Around where I live (Tappan NY) there are many rev era historic buildings and war sites. In my friend Kevin’s backyard, is a stone memorializing the exact site where Major Andre was hanged. Andre was buried in Westminster Abbey.

Washington had his headquarters (DeWindt House) up the block.

there are Dutch Colonial homes (all facing south) that were interconnected with underground tunnels. Later used for bootlegging during prohibition.

lots of ghosts floating around too, haunted churches.

***I know American Civil War trumps stats and emotion, but the American Revolution ethos was an intellectual exploration that changed civilization

The 2nd time when they attacked the Capital, ate the food that was left and burned a lot of the city we didn’t even need soldiers. It pissed off God and he unleashed a hurricane with the embedded tornadoes killing a large part of the invaders who were fleeing. The bravest person was Mrs. Madison who stayed until they arrived getting the valuables out of the Capital while everyone else ran off.

I always confuse Lorenzen Wright with Eddie Griffin. Who, you may recall, once crashed his SUV while watching porn and masturbating.

Shorts:

- For my $$$, no one in the ‘90s made better gear than Polo Sport.

- Pretty pumped about the Pappy heist doc. Anything to put the Commonwealth in a good light. 😉

- Still can’t believe bougie coolers actually became a fad - like the Coleman didn’t get your domestos cold enough. Rednecks, man.

- My lone issue with “American Pie” is the casting of Stifler’s mom. Not attractive at all.

- Have heard a few people headed to Virginia Beach lately - what’s that place like? I think the Cincinnati/Kentucky beach vacation hierarchy would have to be:

1. Hilton Head
2. Destin
3. Outer Banks
4. Clearwater?
5. Myrtle Beach?

-Can you even fathom being part of the American Revolution, I can’t. The Brits rolled up with the equivalent of 45 aircraft carriers in NYC harbor and 300+ other ships right there with at least 10x the number of trained soldiers, yet the Rebels are like, “I think we got this fellas.”

Just blows my mind.

Deep thoughts.

Was just thinking the same thing.

The number was actually closer to 1000, but that was also a much higher casualty rate than anything short of our civil war.

Some battles saw over 50% killed or wounded.
80 poop knows several people that were there, I would trust his numbers.

MLB Draft: 20 rounds, 20 picks, and the Angels didn’t take a single position player. All pitchers.

That’s weird.

One day you're going to need to keep something cold for 3 days without being able to get more ice and you'll be sorry.

But what a masterful job YETI has done with its marketing. I haven't purchased one yet, but GD do I want one for some reason and I'm not going to be a cheap ass and buy the knockoff.

The reds were literally shooting and blowing up their $300 coolers when they make that in a week. Dumbs, I swear. Could’ve just sold it to someone for $150 🤷🏼‍♂️

But just go buy an Rtic so his ex wife can make millions I guess.

Check out their payroll and farm system. There is a reason such a stupid strategy was implemented.

I could actually use one of those 7 day yetis because it takes me that long to work up the energy to empty out the tailgate cooler. Save me from wasting a bunch of tailgate beers. Actually just save you dumbasses from drinking a bunch of skunked beer. So maybe I won't.

I know it’s fun to hate everything anymore but I still love the full MLB ASG Festivities. Loved being in Cincy Sunday-Tuesday back in 2015 and will enjoy the game tonight. Added bonus is I don’t have to wait til the 8th Inning for the token Red to get an at-bat

With ALL the talent in the west/east, the NL Central has 5 of the offensive starters.

My brother gave me a cooler for my birthday last year. It’s an Igloo Playmate deal with huge “CRISPY BOYS” branding on it.

So far, its chief use was keeping the Capri Suns cool on the sidelines of my son’s U6 soccer team that I was finagled into coaching.

One time a kid got kicked in the face with the ball and started to cry. His dad was right there, so he simply asked the kid to “evaluate” his emotions. “Stop.” “Process.” “Evaluate.” “Now, what are you feeling?”… The game stopped dead to witness this. But, I got the ball back in play and let them work it out on the sidelines.

It was a touching example of how our country is going to hell in a hand basket, IMO.

I had a Yeti before anyone knew what a Yeti was. Our cabin is 30+ minutes from the nearest store, and it's on generator power. So I need something that holds ice for days. The funny thing is, it's heavy as fock. It's not fun to tote around. For the average day outing, it's not a good pick.

Picked up an Ice Mule for a recent trip so it would pack in my checked bag. The small probably hold 18 beers. Highly recommended.

Now your living on a gay island, amongst tourist and pussy galore and still spend ALOT of time on this message board.

What kind of dipshit argues for giving an 11 yr old an AR15 in 2021?
I don’t actually think your kid needs an AR.

I’m actually in a garage drinking beers in Radcliffe watching the all star game with my buddy and his puppy husky.

I had to get out of KW because there’s just too many of you down there right now. Head back to the grind tomorrow but not work til Thursday.

And yeah I come here all the time because it’s where I get my news and info. I don’t go out all day chasing tail, I let it come to the bar.

😎
