When does Mask reverse-shaming begin? Lmao
I played in a golf tournament today in Shelbyville, which is 20 minutes outside of Louisville...but also basically Louisville and exploding with new residents.
On the way, I stopped at a Simpsonville BP to get Skins money & a Gatorade, one of those bare bones Patel stations. Put my mask on while thinking it was probably silly -- and, of course it was. No patron or employee had a mask.
-Arrive at Weissinger Hills Golf Club, checked in at bag drop, and wanted to go inside for a glove and 5 Miller Lites, my 18 hole standard when trying to actually compete.
That same sign you see on EVERY door was present, and I'm a guest, so I put a mask on b/c I'm just a respectful dude.
...60+ year old bartender/snack attendant didn't have a mask, nor did any of the ProShop staff. Felt like a loser.
-On the way out of town, I needed a few things, and there is one of those MEGA Huck's Stations right outside Club Entrance. Nice place, 30 pumps, full kitchen, and a full sized White Castle inside/connected to the building.
Definitely need my mask here. b/c it's not a shady place and still has that "Sign" on the door........FALSE.
At least 25 people inside between the Convenience side + Restaurant....and I'm the only dude (Including Employees) that had a mask on. Felt so much like a loser, I pulled it down under my chin while checking out and made a side comment that "lol this mask stuff is bullshit", which i truly believe, but would never risk my life or reputation on.
-So, despite being made to feel like a loser covid bro all day, I feel pretty damn good about things. Shelbyville is FARRR from "out in the state", where I realize this is, and has been, normal
(my club quit covid in November, btw #Fairdale)
