There are several little issues that have occurred from the beginning which, when added together, lead to some legitimate concern about it being overturned and re-tried. The issue you mentioned is one, not changing venues, not sequestering the jury, the suspicious timing of the civil settlement, some statements made by jurors about fearing for their life if they acquitted, etc. All that would leave me a bit unsettled as the appeals process takes place.
She married a transgender woman while she was waiting for her second trial then they got divorced when she was found guilty again. So totally cool chick.

My bf's cousin was murdered. Her killer was convicted, then the conviction was overturned on allegations of Brady violations, and then he was re-convicted a couple years ago (with some bonus kiddie porn charges, too). He will rot in the Kentucky State Pen the rest of his life, hopefully. Going through two trials was brutal on the family. I hate it, but I am not surprised that something went awry with Chauvin. How you "forget" you PLED GUILTY to something is beyond me, juror number whatever. I do not envy the state navigating the Chauvin appeal at this point.
Due process is sacred, I'll defend it wholeheartedly; but sometimes the way it plays out really sucks.

I'm not opposed to Chauvrin getting another trial, and then being convicted of everything all over again.
