Reading through all this, I'm thinking that the biggest upset recruit that Cal got from someone else so far was probably Teague from UL. That was thanks to Teague's brother Jeff, who thought Teague would develop better under Cal. Lyles comes to mind as well changing from IU.

Giles coming here would be the biggest get for Cal since AD or Wall.

As for Okafor or Towns? Both guys have an open path to make their teams legitimate. Both can be all-stars because you can be a one-way player and be a superstar (see Irving and Harden). So Towns was just a better fit for Minnesota than Okafor at the time.
I think the Lakers were the ones who made the biggest mistake by passing on Okafor.

I think the biggest upset recruit was Murray. Everyone was predicting Oregon.

I believe if Giles and family allow or ask Cal for another visit (face to face) before he announces then we have a real shot. If not, Duke it will be IMO.

Well he did say Wake was the underdog . Also I don't think Wake is AS selective as Duke.
