Morning Legionnaires!

64° this morning with moderate rainfall. We too have not had rain in a while, so it is welcomed. it is supposed to rain all day with a possibility of 2 inches or more. High to be in the low 70's. Was going to finish the fall softball season tonight with one game and then a single elimination tournament, but the rain (welcomed and needed) takes precedence.

@AustinTXCat I know that generally a post like yours would seem gloomy with rain and then a trip to doc's office for chemo. However, given the point that you needed the rain and the fact that you are still here to receive treatment makes me glad you are getting taken care of on both points. A prayer with extra emphasis was sent up before posting this. Stay strong and stay long, we need you here for the other fight.

Hey it's Tuesday...I got nothing...well... nothing more.

God Bless and God's speed to all trekking out there today and be safe.

Good morning folks.

Austin, hang in there. You'll have all of us thinking of you and praying for you today.

This was the first really cold morning of the year for us -- 37 when I headed out today. A thin layer of ice on the windshield.

Got in early to charge through some deadline work. A lot done already as the clock ticks over to 8 am. Heading down for coffee. Have a good day folks.

Good morning D-League. Another cold day in the east.

Phillies blew it last night. Texas-Arizona series will be of only marginal interest to me. Texas in five.

My son got his formal job offer letter from the federal government yesterday and will be heading for Texas in a week. Nothing generates stronger confusing emotions in a man than seeing a son get out of college and land a good job, then seeing him leave to start his life a thousand miles away. But proud of him.

While my son and I were watching the baseball game last night, at a fancy banquet in Manhattan that I declined to attend I won a Folio award for producing the top Magazine article of the year. I mention it because it’s the kind of thing that would have mattered to me 30 years ago but now seems so inconsequential compared to the good things happening in my family. I’m glad to have gotten to that point in life.

Sorry to be a bit philosophical this morning. Heading for the train and another work day —hope it’s a good one for all.

"Couldn't happen to a nicer guy."

;)

Congrats in all areas...

Thanks Austin and BBUK.

Austin, the story as I produced and edited it ran in our magazine nad I only have a PDF of that. But a version that mostly captures it ran on our website. Here's that version. AJ, the writer I hired to work with, is best known as the guy who wrote the book, and later the screenplay for "Ford Versus Ferrari," which, if you haven't seen it was a pretty cool movie.

My role was to creat the idea, put together the team including AJ, come up with the people we interviewed and then edit it all into the format we published. As I say, this wasn't exactly it, but has many of the same elements. Also, at the bottom of this piece is the link to another story I produced you all might like: Eyewitness accounts of being at Pearl Harbor...

Congrats MdWildcat. Take those awards. They stay important.

I have a few upstairs and I still brag about them! :)

Good morning folks. Last full day of the work week for me.

Tomorrow, my wife and I are making a quick trip for a long weekend in the mountains on the Maryland-West Virginia border for a brief getaway. Some beautiful woods in which to hike, and a train that takes a tour through the mountains. Supposedly it’s the train on which the one in the Christmas movie Polar Express is based. Should be fun.

Hope you all have an easy day.

NBA opens tonight (or last night). Normally don't care. But I'm interested in seeing the 7-4 (That's 2.22 meters to him.), 19 yrs old French guy, Victor Whomever, & what all the hoopla is about. So taping Spurs' game. After I see, I'll go back to normally.
Didn't watch the whole thing but enough to believe he's the real deal. Made a 3 pt off a dribble to the left & another walking up to top of key. I.e., he's not just good when catching stationary. Also blocked one from off the ball. Shooter didn't see him coming from the side. Dribbles like a PG.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 75°F and cloudy.. We've received 4.5 inches precipitation this week. Possibility for more rain and thunderstorms today. Today's high could reach 84°F

Must return to oncology clinic late this afternoon for another attempt at infusion. Scheduling screwed up Tuesday. Drugs not ready. Stay tuned.

Happy Friday, y'all.

The Navy is so very smart.... The have their own camouflaged uniforms....

They fall in the water and no one can see them... 😁

(My sons good friend, one of my adopted sons always gets pinged by my son about his time in the Navy. Just messes with him non-stop.) I heard the above in one "altercation..." 😅

Good late morning D-League.

Been pushing hard getting some work done so I can take the afternoon off for a short weekend getaway in the mountains on the MD-WVA border, a palce called Deep Creek Lake. I don't know much about it. My wife has been hearing about it from friends so we thought we'd give it a shot.

Big sports weekend for the Cats. I wish I could muster some excitement for the Tennessee game, but that embarrassing collapse versus Missouri has got me thinking this team is just looking for a place to curl up in a ball. The quarterback situation just never worked out. I hope they prove me wrong.

You all have a good day.

On Kentucky football I totally agree. God I hope that you and I are over here next week eating crow. Somehow I don't think that that will happen!

Enjoy you getaway.
