D-League

Good morning from ATX. Currently 59°F and clear. Today's high may shatter records and hit 97°F. Summer back for a few days. Rain on the way.

Happy Friday, y'all.

Good morning D-League. Heading out for a walk in the pre-dawn.

Blue-White game tonight. Looking forward to seeing the Cats’ actually playing in a game setting again. A chance to pick up a recruit today as Boogie Fland, PG, is supposed to announce. It’s a close call say analysts. As Adolph Rupp used to say, “if he sees what Kentucky basketball has to offer and goes elsewhere he wasn’t smart enough to play for us anyway.”

BBUK, I met Lorrie Morgan at a White House Correspondents dinner back in the early 1990s when she was with Sen. Fred Thompson. I said something like, “I was raised in Kentucky” and she said something like, “I always liked Kentuckians.” Thompson looked miffed. Lol. She was a damn good looking woman then. Maybe still is.

Hope you all have a good day.

I thought the Blue/White game was tomorrow night. I could be wrong but, on the official UK site it has it scheduled for Saturday 6:00pm. Not sure if that is ET or CT though.

Good morning everyone

Busy, busy. Wednesday took a road trip to Roan Mtn State Park area in Tennessee. The popular places were full...no parking. But, still enjoyable.

Yesterday stuck closer to home and did an 8.5 mile hike on Pine Mountain Scenic Trail. Colors are getting good.

I'm looking forward to the BW game as well but I do believe it's tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Warrior, no doubt you are correct. My apologies. I was going by my flawed memory that it was always one week exactly after BBMadness. I should know by now to check everything I think I remember.

No need to apologize, I was just making sure I did not miss it. I am supposed to help judge some sparring/kumite tonight at 5:30 and wanted to make sure I did not get it wrong and miss the game.

I took this pic and captioned it "Who needs the beach?" on FB. See lots of pics of toes and feet in the sand. This is right at a huge drop off and I am sca...no terrified of heights. It took a while for the pic and to scoot backwards to be able to stand up. lol

You got me scared now, I think there might be something wrong with my eyesight.

I'm not scared of heights. I'm scared of edges. Standing back & looking out below & I'm fine.

Yes, it's difficult to see in the pic. The edge of the rock at my feet is straight down. The yellow tree and others behind my feet are huge and I'm looking down at the top of them. The little white object at my feet is a house on the other side of the valley. I'm sitting at about 2800' elevation.

Good morning folks.

Blue-White game tonight —I think I’m right this to me.

Nice day for the Cats on the recruiting trail as Boogie Fland, top rated incoming PG, picks Kentucky. Indiana thought they had this kid, so doubly sweet.

Getting in an early hike before my trip up into the Blue Ridge Mountains with my daughter —our annual Halloween trip.

Hope you all have a great day.

Funny..... (Women, can not be pleased...)

Just say what you mean...

UK's final 2 home field opponents going at it right now. UT was up on Bama 20-7 at halftime. Bama has reeled off 27 straight since. Not sure if I'd rather face UT next weekend after a loss or a win. Looks like a loss right now.

I always root against Tennessee no matter what...they could line up against a team from North Korea...I would be rooting for North Korea.

Probably better for us they lost, especially considering they really out played Bama the first half and should have been up more than 13 at the half...but honestly, I don't think it matters. I think Tennessee will beat us. Our offense is such a mess and their coach in the 2 years he has been there has scored like 89 total points in 2 games against Stoops. Two straight years of their guys being wide open. The defense we run hasn't seemed to have any answers against them.

Sad thing is that the passing game was supposed to be a strong point this year. The only winnable games left IMO are road games.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 68°F and clear. Today's high may reach 89°F. Rain coming.

- Just returned from an hour walk. Talked with daughter for a long time. She's taking a motorcycle safety course at Walter State CC in Morristown, TN. Course includes a significant riding component. She'll go for MSF certification today. I took and completed same course in Germany back in 1988. Our course back then included German traffic laws section.

- Watched Nebraska vs Northwestern yesterday via Spectrum account portal on B1G network. Huskers won. Used a hack since we're not B1G subscribers. Watched via web portal rather than cast to TV. No biggie. Huskers got a good shot at landing a bowl bid. Really hope our Cats can win a few more between now and end of season.

- Cooked chicken breasts in air fryer yesterday. Good results. Coated with olive oil, salt and pepper. Gonna prep some chicken and avocado soft tacos around noon.

Wishing y'all a joyous Sunday.

Good morning all,

Woke up early. My Darling is at church. Me and the BB will go to the later service... Hope your day's go well...

These are funny clips if they work...

Good morning folks. Back from a long morning hike.

I had a great day with my daughter yesterday. We ranged up and down the Shenandoah Valley from Frederick Maryland to Harper’s Ferry West Virginia to Winchester Virginia. Saw some brilliant fall colors. And some creative Halloween decorations. I told some ghost stories. We ate at a place called Betty’s Cafe where they served terrific sausage gravy and biscuits. Quite a day.

Didn’t see the Blue White game. The Rafters commentary is indecipherable —the optimists saw a final four team, the trolls and pessimists weren’t impressed. I guess we’ll see soon enough.

Have a great day folks.

Apparently no one watched the Blue White game last night, so here is a report.

The quality of the broadcast was minimal at best. It pains me to have to pay for such a bad production. We will have several games on there this year and it ruffles my feathers.

With ESPN+ and SEC Network+; UK has been sold out on the TV front. But I suppose it could get worse next year with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. Before the take over of ESPN we could depend on a good UK Network production, but not any more.

My bitching is over.

I think we are in serious trouble...I think Tennessee and Alabama are going to be losses...that gives us 4 losses...I don't think Stoop has ever won a road game against the West division of the SEC. I think we haven't beat Miss St on the road since before 2010. South Carolina at this point is the most winnable, but they had a halftime lead against Georgia...their record is awful but we aren't good enough to over look anyone.

I honestly don't know how good Louisville is...yes, they did beat Notre Dame (they are almost always over-rated)...but Georgia Tech really gave them that game against Louisville and to some extent so did NC State, I think physically we are still ahead of Louisville but I worry their offense is competent enough that if we don't get things right with our offense we could lose that game despite maybe having more talent overall.

That successful fake punt Mizzou did really may have altered our season significantly. We were dominating to that point and if they didn't get it, we would had the ball near the 50 yard line and we were running on them so easy at that point.

I don't think we win 3 more games the rest of the way...I think our record at the end will be 5-7, 6-6, or 7-5. I would put 7-5 as the most likely.

The fake punt definitely took the wind out of their sails. My concern going forward, not this year but from here on out. Texas and Oklahoma join the league next year and 9 SEC games is a real possibility. 6-7 wins may be the ceiling unless Stoops starts competing for the supreme talent. I'm not optimistic.

Bert, Thanks for that report on the Blue-White game. I was out with my daughter and missed it, so that was helpful. You covered about everything, but I do have one tiny question: Did they actually play the game?

Good morning folks. Monday. As Forrest Gump says, "That's All I have to say about that."

Was a good weekend. The weather certainly obliged. Absolutely spectacular, as it often is in October here. Quality time with two of my three kids, watching sports, hiking, touring little towns, eating at a diners called "Betty's Cafe."

Back to work. I hope you all have a good day, and a good week, and......

They played the game. None of our 7 footers played. The action was okay.

The production by ESPN sucked. If you have ESPN+ or SECN+ it is still available. I watched the first half again last night.

Thanks Bert. I always get either too high or too low after the Blue-White game, so while I'll always watch if I hvae the chance I think I'll just avoid going back and watching it now.
