We have Brit Box and have gone to about 95% British TV and films. It is refreshing to get away from the PC of American television and the guilt trip the American industry tries to put you on. When I am trying to relax with a good movie, I don't want to end up mad enough to throw something at my TV. I want entertainment, not indoctrination.

The Brits have some clever writers and a good sound formula for making solid film. They also have excellent actors and actresses. Some of their TV series have been going on for over 20 years and each episode is 90 minutes so it is like a mini movie.
We just recently cut the cord and went to streaming only. Got tired of sitting through 10 minute commercial breaks and hearing woke ideology. Satellite talks about all the channels you get, there might be 15 or so worth watching.

My wife decided to try the delivery service from Total Wine. What a disaster. Total Wine subs out Grubhub to handle deliveries. The guy showed up late and spoke literally no English. If was easier for my wife to use her limited Spanish to tell him that he gave us the wrong order. After about 30 minutes we find out that it's not his fault. Total Wine screwed up the order so they sent another guy out 90 minutes later but he wouldn't take the wrong order back to the store. After going back and forth with the store manager they decided to let us have the order for free. Sounds good right? Well... here's what was in the box:

Braxton Hop Fit IPA (low cal beer)
Painted Donkey Ranch Water
White Claw Hard Seltzer

What a waste of free alcohol but hidden at the bottom of the box, wrapped in a paper bag was a bottle of Yellowstone Hand Picked Collection single barrel bourbon. Score! I've never had it but it's really quite good. $70. I'll probably give the rest of that crap away but I'm definitely keeping the Yellowstone.

Sounds like my "battle" with Walmart when they delivered well over a hundred dollars worth of groceries to my door and wouldn't take them back. The real purchaser was over six miles away. I offered them back to walmart but walmart told me I could either deliver them to the rightful purchaser (But they were delivering another order of the same stuff to them.) Or I could keep it or donate it to my favorite charity. Hey, I did two of the three things anyway... I donated them to my pantry and cabinets.... They just happen to be my favorite charity at the time...

I "took" a listen. He definitely is not Jerry....
Very true but I find Micke does take me back as he entertains me. I've enjoyed these Duetschland Lennerockers over 20 years for the same reason. Rockabillies rule the world.

Had to share this.... (Jerry and Mickey)

Saw Mickey at his Branson theater a long time ago. He was pretty good, but I guess his lead female singer had quit him with no notice. He was peeved and wouldn't let it go. Got tired of hearing about it.

Listening to Nina Simone tonight. Yeah, yeah. I know. Controversial as hell. I try to get past that and listen to good music. It's not always easy to do.

I love Nina's blues presentations. I also expect creative musicians to get outside the box just exploring. She's just fine. Paloma Faith is a favorite performer for me, woke as hell., and I don't care what she thinks at all. She's a singer. Her voice is the gift.

Robbie Robertson pegged it right in The Last Waltz about the best songwriters of that era, Neil Diamond,
My fav was Kentucky Woman. I Loved the Deep Purple Cover too from the outstanding Book of Taliesyn LP

Seriously, I hate to say it but the world would be dull without liberal artists. Can't stand their views but damn they're good at entertaining. Robert DeNiro is an asshole but starred in some of my favorite movies. Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, Godfather II, Taxi Driver etc.. Musicians? Come on! I can't listen to only Ted Nugent and Charlie Daniels. Same with Hollywood. Kelsey Grammar and Tim Allen? Enjoy the ride and enjoy the characters, not the actors.

I can separate it but these actors cannot. They keep pushing there crap. Heck before John Denver died, I loved his music and nearing the end he went totally stupid with how he performed thinking his liberal crap could be paid for. John Denver made some seriously good music, as did Stevie Wonder and heck Barbara Streisand was amazing but GEEZ, just act and don't talk off the screen... Jim Carey... yeah, right... Made some funny stuff on the screen but the dude is a looney tune in real life.

Their worth stops at their work but try to tell that to them...

Hey I agree. It pissed me off when Jimmy Buffett started in on the politics. He swore that he'd never do it because half his fans were Republicans and half were Democrats. My BIL was a big Springsteen fan until he started spewing. Just stay neutral damn it.

Morning Legionnaires!

90° on tap for a high today with light winds.

Since the Reds seemed to have found a little winning streak maybe I can too. Going out to Natches pond and fish from the Kayak today. Be leaving in about an hour. It gets light at about 06:30 here and it takes me about 30 minutes to get there so, 06:00 depart time. Natches is the pond that I caught what was probably my biggest bass ever earlier this year but, did not get to weigh it because it got off of the stringer before I could get back to the bank (the one that got away story). Since then I have had very little success with few here and there. Maybe I will turn in around.

I hope I don't wind up like this tonight.

Good morning D

Here we go again, we have a pleasant 62° at the moment and will get up to 84° by mid afternoon. Skies are fair with 1 mph wind. This will be a perfect day to trim some palms and trees in my yard. I have around 40 to whack off. 35 tall palms, 2 very large magnolias, 1 loquat and two very tall pines. My yard boy is renting a crane to lift him up so we can get the job done. A ladder at the heights some of these palms are would be unsafe.

Loquat trees are a nice addition to a yard but mine mostly feeds the birds and squirrels and is getting up in age. The old timers knew how to use them and made some great preserves and jams out of the fruit. You don't see much loquat jam anymore. Times change. I trust all have a great day.

When it comes to politics ruining someone for me, it's got to be Rex. I was a big fan of his back in the day, but his over the top antics have soured me on him.

Yes Rex is at the top of the list and probably bottom as an all time favorite of mine. Willie Nelson is another celebrity I am soured on. But I do listen to his music and blame it on his brain being fried 60 years ago. Drugs screw you up.

Good morning D-Leaguers.

So, in terms of Kentuckians who we loved or at least liked a lot who ruined it with politics, is Rex 1A? Or is Ashley Judd, with Rex 1B?

Before you vote, you may need a refresher...lol. (Ten seconds should do it. Sorry if I ruin anyone's morning coffee...) Maybe she gets a pass for being nuts, but then Rex might get the same pass...

Happy 50th Birthday to one of the great albums of my teenage years.

This cut has it all - great Hank Williams song, sung by Roy Acuff, with Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Vassar Clements and other notables bringing the heat...
I still have my album and CD and play it often. I actually cut a CD from the vinyl and put the record away. I did that for most of my vinyls when cassette and CD's came out. Now they are in mint condition.

Every song on the album was a classic in my book. Here is one of many I enjoyed and still do.

A dead heat tie. That was one of the most embarrassing moments I have witnessed. Actually I have not watched the entire 6 minutes. What a shame women end up like this. I don't even care to see her face anymore.

If I watched the entire thing I would need something stronger than my morning coffee and would need a good baptizing in the Gulf of Mexico. Scrubbed down with lye soap before I got dipped.

Hello all,

I slept in. Going to do manual labor most all day around this place. It needs it.

Speaking of shortages. I think I have enough flour to make a half pan of biscuits. Some flour is supposed to arrive today but a generic brand. No known flour is available.

The shortage crap is happening....

We need 10 dollar a gallon gas libtards and more electric cars. That will fix everything.....

I am in a good mood... Have a great day ..

It is a rainy 66.0°F on our way to 84°. We have received .39inches of much needed rain. I am praying for more.

Lots of folks have disappointed me when they try to convince others that their views of life are wrong and need to be more liberal.

I got the yard mowed yesterday and now the rain will get it going again.

Edit: 23 minutes later and it is blue sky and sun.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 78°F and partly cloudy. Heating up to 96°F later today. Could see 100s later next week. Dreaded days of summer are coming.

Cuz called me yesterday afternoon. His Facebook account got hacked. We worked from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm last night cleaning everything up on his PC and phone. Think he's good to go now.

Pup had fun chasing a stray cat across the back yard. Heh. She's caught a few, but they got away without scratching her.

I've got nothing else. May work on a few things later. Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Good morning D, read 1 John:1 this morning.

No rain for us Bert!!! Clear blue skies this morning.

Our 2nd week into Mrs. M retirement, looking for a part time job for her!!!! No just kidding. Our week is busy, I work at Hope 2 All on Monday's and Friday's and she takes care of the grandchildren on Friday's, I got her into arrowhead hunting so we are having a great time!!!

Going to Earlington later to see our granddaughter before her prom tonight, where has the time gone!!!!

Bert, I have been talking to my son quite a bit about how the inner works, eye opening!

WC and the rest of the D, what's the biggest city that you are close to, I know some of where the D is close to but not all, I like watching what the weather is doing in your area. The closest to me is Owensboro to our north Paducah to our west.

I hope the D, has a great day and prayers for the D!!! We are heading to a kite festival with our daughter and granddaughter at 11 this morning.

I am so proud of our granddaughter, sometimes I think we are the ones with special needs and she is perfect!!!!!!

Cord I suggest that you pay the preacher just a little more and you may get the rain!

Expand on your last statement there. I got lost of "inner works". Is that the railroad?

Lawton Ok being the third largest city in Oklahoma is 14 miles south of me and OKC being the largest is about 60 miles north of me.

Tomorrow at church my cousin has been asked to do the service as my pastor will be out of town. He is 83 years old now but still very active and works a full time job traveling all over America. He lived in Jacksonville, FL and with his family traveled the country in a touring bus for many years as a gospel group. The Singing Morris Family consisted of his five children and his wife, a tremendous piano and organ player. She passed away about 5 years ago with dementia. All of the five children still sing and play.

Dick had many gospel recordings but he also enjoyed doing parody songs of country artists. One artist he did a parody of was C.W. McCall and he wrote this little song I am posting off of YouTube. This one was recorded about 50 years ago.

The only problem I have with him is, he is an ultra Gator Fan. Most of my cousins on mama's side are Gators with a few FSU. On daddy's side they are all Wildcats. Me and my siblings all took after our daddy when it comes to sports.

Take it away Dick,

Fishing report: Not a banner day but, a good one compared to the last 3 or so. Had 5 strikes with 3 hooked and 3 landed. One was over 5lbs. Since my MIL and BIL were coming over and are vegans I brought them home for a fish fry. Wife greeted me telling me she canceled them coming over because she was tired. After shopping yesterday, we did a lot of cleaning in my off shop to get rid of crap my wife stored there and now realizes she will never use. Did not go through all of it but got a big chunk done. The big bass picture below is still not as big as the one that got off of my stringer a month or so back.
