D-League

If you ever get to Tampa,Florida you must go to this one. It has been operated by the same family since 1905. It a historic landmark and the menu has not really changed in over 100 years. The one in Ybor City is the original one and also the largest Spanish (Cuban) restaurant in the world. In my opinion none is better. Atmosphere, food and culture is all authentic. The food is not only delicious it is beautiful and the presentation is superb. They make the salad at your table and also the sangria. Right before your eyes.

This place is highly endorsed by me. It's the real-deal.

Log Inn possibly?
Yes sir.

It was wonderful. I spent a lot of the railroads money there. Wonderful food and fantastic service.

After you move to Evansville from places that I lived and your customers suggest a place to go you know you are going to be hosed. In New York it would cost $200 for a lunch. In Evansville you could get the most expensive thing on the menu at dinner, get drunk and have desert and it would be $67.50 including the tip.

Evansville is simply a great section of the country. Don't tell anyone, but Henderson, KY (across the river) is even better. The people are wonderful, the culture is the best that there is. The German and English heritage is simply wonderful.

Bert, I was also 5'10" and weighed 135 when I graduated. I was a lightweight (135 lbs max) when I fought in the Golden Gloves tournament in Knoxville in 61 and 62.

I have never eaten Cuban but have decided to give it a try soon if I can find a place.

When I read about some of you guys" ailments, especially rrkat's, I thank the Good Lord that I have no aches or pains at all. Hope it remains that way until the old ticker takes me out..

Below is a picture of me and two of my friends after we came out of Parkers cave in 1963. Back then I had all of my parts. I was skinny and I could go through any little hole. Look how much taller I am and how skinny I was. I was the first guy through little holes.

The guy is the middle is Dean Ewing (his father was a drummer for the Chicago Symphony until his untimely death) and Mike Bell. The picture is horrible but if it were a good picture you could see how wet and muddy we actually were.

We were fearless (maybe stupid) but we did a bunch of excellent caving.

Thanks for the thoughts railroadkat.

Bad backs are a pain just above the ass! :flushed:

As we age we pay for the sins of youth. I ran track, played football (5'10" 135 pounds) and basketball. I got kicked in the nose in football. I was a spelunker and fell into a pit and screwed up my right knee. I built crap around my house and beat my left thumb up because of my bad aim. I smoked for about 20 years. I paint my own house and have fallen.

Because of my sins I now have experienced:

Appendicitis 1975
Gal bladder removed 1980
Nose reconstructed
Two knee surgeries
One knee replacement
One open heart surgery
No cartilage left in ankles
Left leg 2” shorter than right from breaking femur.

Once you stop you are finished, so one must push forward and never give up until there is no more push left.

Bert I'm a most stubborn man. I take the pain as a blessing but
nothing helps anymore and in the long road it strengthens my faith. I also have been through some very trying times. I believe everything happens for a reason. Please refer to ymmot as chef!

Congrats in order and well-deserved, but really wish he coulda hit 2 more FTs during regulation in this past Sunday's game.
Me too. If anyone had scored 1 more point in regulation, I believe we'd hung #9 so I still have Big Blues. It' ll pass quickly after the tourney ends, but one I won't forget. Another thing I'll never, ever get over is the NCAA permitting the institutional corruption to go unchecked allowing preferred cheaters to compete at all. To me, no different than allowing fellers to compete with the ladies. I don't care whats allowed in for profit sports. I don't care even if some players get institutional benefits as long as the same rules apply to everyone.

I wonder if Herro likes a good gyro?

Dad and I ate gyro's for lunch today. It was his first one. I asked him how he liked it and he said he liked the meat real well but could do without the sour cream. If I would have told him it was greek yogurt he wouldn't have taken another bite. I told him it was tzatziki sauce and that it was made with dill and cucumbers. He took another couple of bites and said he liked cucumbers. [winking]

I bet by next week he'll ask if we can have another one.

Oh chief there is a lot, lot more I just would rather put them behind me!
UK locked coach Cal in for a life time so he isn't going anywhere.

Gotta get some things done tomorrow. Need to sharpen the blades on the lawnmower as well change the oil. Grass jumped on me and must be taken down a notch.

I mow on 4 for height but 2 on the gear. I'm kinda pulling for this lawnmower to quit so I can get one with a hydrostatic transmission. This one came with the house 8 years ago so I would have expected it to die a quick death. It's a Deere though, so there's that.

Good morning D League

It is a cool 50° and clear with a high of 78° forecast. The man on the radio said the roads are clear so if you are on your way to work that is a good thing.

I hear some positive things coming out of Spring football and that is where I am putting my Kentucky sports focus. . Football. Where I live it is football 365 days a year and basketball does not make the radar. So I need a strong Kentucky football team to show my face around here. Last year was nice and I would like to see that continue.

Meanwhile I have a few things to do around here and I will need another cup of coffee to get going. So I am headed to the kitchen to fill her up.
Trust all are well and fight the good fight.

Good morning D-League! Well it hurts to lose but the loses just don't sting like they use to! Maybe old age but my out look is just please GOD give me another few years to enjoy my life, family, friends, KY basketball and the D-League!!LOL

Apollo to keep quoting you w song links but what you just said CM is perfect for verse 2 of... [To Live And Die With The Wildcats]

In years past its sometimes taken me weeks to get back here. Though I am here now, I still havent ventured over to Rupps yet:)

What ever happened to him?
41st pick in the NBA draft by Orlando Magic. Traded immediately to the Denver Nuggets. Assigned to Delaware Blue Coats of the G-League. Called up and played in 19 games for the Denver Nuggets this season and scored 20 points total over 19 games.

He actually scored 10 points in 7 minutes last night against GS Warriors.
