D-League

Good morning D-League

Morning temperature is 63° and this afternoon it should reach 83° with plenty of good ole sunshine. If we are fortunate it will be in mid 80's the rest of the week.

Yesterday I picked a whole bunch of banana peppers in my little garden and fried them up for supper. Fresh picked fried banana peppers rule.

Have a great day all.

This boy has been hanging around in the back yard after my wife threw some old bread out by the lake. This is a Florida Wood Stork and what is interesting is it is the only stork that breeds in North America. It is on the endangered species list.

Sawnee_Cat, man, the lake water level looks like it's a bit down right now. You all might need some of our deluges of rain that we've had up here.

It is way down. Fortunately it is spring fed so we have fresh water coming in all of the time. Our rainy season kicks into gear around the first of June which is the start of hurricane season. If we can get about 20 inches in a day or so all will be fine. But it is not at a crisis level yet.

D-League,
Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well today. It's a cool, crisp 55 degrees right now, headed for mid 70's later on with more rain (just what we need around here) headed in for tonight/tomorrow. It's been great to get outside the last few days with the nice weather. I already have good sun tan, and it's only early April.

Question for the D-League......have any of you all taken a vacation to Hawaii? If so, I'd like to learn more about your experiences. I'm considering a 25th anniversary trip there in a couple of years and want to start thinking ahead about it. One of my students at school, recently moved from Hawaii to Chattanooga and he was talking about the best deals for accommodations being some lesser known bed and breakfast places rather than the resorts in the glossy magazine ads.

It's going to be costly, I know, and that's why I'm thinking ahead now. I've been fortunate enough to travel all over the world, but I have never been to Hawaii.

Hello D league!

How is everyone?

I am 12 hours late but good to see you posting again. Life is great. We don't have to worry about Kentucky losing Saturday; however, I wish that I still had to worry.

Yes, had both high tops and low.

To my memory I never had a "tennis" shoe that was not a converse high top when I graduated high school. Maybe it was just my area.

Local strawberries are in season and they are juicier and sweeter than I can ever remember. Lots of farms have U-pick um and that is always fun. I love a good, large, juicy and sweet strawberry.

Oh my gosh; "Stark" strawberries were the biggest sweetest strawberries on earth. You see the large berries in stores now but they are not as good as the Stark berries from the Stark, FL area. Plus they were cheap.

Starke, Florida is where Ted Bundy breathed his last breath. I remember the morning he got fried in Old Sparky the local radio DJ's requested everyone turn off all of the lights in their homes to cut down electricity. They wanted plenty of electricity to fry the boy. And they did.

Morning. Hope all is well with your souls.

Still bummed about our game. Like Rooster, basketball for me (and family) is 24/7/365. It just is. With the Cats at the top. As a matter of fact the Cats will always be at the top. They just are. No one can change that. Win or lose, regardless of ranking. The Cats and historical fans are the standard. Just are. Wishing the best for our currant team. Be blessed. Hurry up BBM. FCC.

I get busy and it affects my posting rate lol. I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch any of the games this weekend.

Afternoon D.
Cal's motto this year (maybe it has been in the past also?) was "If we lose, we learn..." He may want to apply that for himself also. Glad he is our Coach but it seems as if he has a hard time sealing the deal. He's been close a lot of times to have only won it once....maybe he's due and he'll win 3 out for 4 soon?
Part of his problem is he's too damn successful!
Enjoyed the bird progrum earlier.
Golf scramble on Saturday....anybody driving through E'ville around 6 pm? North side - just off I 64. I'll probably need a ride home. :)

I would love to see this. Is it only on Netflix.

I think it since it's a Netflix pic it will only be available there until they sell or license it.

I'm sure I'm not watching any.

Sawnee, do you ever get any gators in your lake?

I played bb in HS and we wore Converse hightops. It was an honor to wear them. I don't think they were on the market then to the general public. Although some time in that period and new tennis shoe came out to the public called US Keds. Wore the Converse only during games. Played 64-70. FCC.

I think the only place we could get them was at a school supplier, and we had high tops and low cuts made of leather. We had a pair for games and one for practice. If we wore the pair for practice out, we got another pair. At the end of the season, we got both pairs to take home.

Ben I have not seen one but one of my neighbors said a few years ago a 9 footer was caught and relocated. They say if there is a body of water in Florida there is a gator nearby. I live in a small populated county with a lot of marshes, springs and rivers that flow into the Gulf. A prime area for gators. Our biggest nuisance are the wild hogs.

Went out with Dad today. Hit a piddler mall and a park so he could get outside and smoke a cigar. Bought an induction cooktop, a round cast iron griddle, and a cast iron chicken frying skillet with lid. It's a small dutch oven with a handle. All equipment to be used outside on my cook table.

Got a battery for the lawnmower today and aired up the tires. Mowed the front grass but the back is a no go until I pick up a bunch of sticks and limbs. Didn't realize that last storm knocked so many down.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 66°F. Clear. Heading into the upper 80s later today. We set another record yesterday with a high of 91°F.

Happy Friday.

Texas Longhorns won the men's NIT last night by beating David Lipscomb. May have saved Shaka Smart's job. Wife was happy. I went though TSA security check in Orlando back end of January with Lipscomb BB players. Great kids.

Riding bicycle to bus stop, busing with it into work and then riding to credit union at lunch. Nice day for it. Beautiful rain expected tomorrow.

We'll check back later. Y'all behave.
