Coen, not Coen, Todd Monken, Lincoln Riley, whoever….the reality is that in 12 seasons we’ve only had 3 seasons outside of the bottom 3rd of offenses and 2 in the top half. Levis and Coen at 38 and Stevie Johnson and Gran at 58. We’re totally lost on the side of the ball that largely drives today’s games. The backfill hires we’ve made the last few seasons have been uninspiring to say the least by favoring comfort in people stoops knows or family over innovation particularly on defense and offense just random guys with no substantial resume like yenser. Coen there was hope because of his season with Levis so I’ll give somebody that one. On that side of the ball it’s going to have to be show it first then tell it later but there’s no reason to go into it as ‘hopeful’ if he has to make a hire.

Without a doubt you could be right. Honestly I think it's more the portal than NIL. But I guess you have to connect them. But the portal means you have to recruit your locker room every year. That would be my biggest issue.

With a salary like an NFL OC you can live in really nice parts. Chicago has a lot of problems but most are concentrated in areas that wealthy people avoid.

I couldn't abide that. I won't even fly through the airport in the winter, since it seems like about half the flights get canceled. Which just happened again a couple of days ago.
Personally I don’t think Cohen is all that talented. He is ok but I have seen way better and variant offenses in football this year.

2. I do remember chatter that Stoops asked Liam for at least 2 years bc he didn’t want to keep turning over coordinators annually. I wonder if Stoops meddled enough in the offense this year that Liam feels Stoops didn’t keep his part of the deal.
3. IMO, Stoops and A&M have nothing to do with this.
4. It wouldn’t shock me if Liam were to leave, if Stoops went with a Gran type direction again….not style, but someone a little older who wasn’t looking to move up the ladder.

It could very well be that Leary wasn't able in less than a year to perfect running an offense while taking snaps under center and that the staff did the best they could with what they had left of the offense.
It could very well be that Leary and the young receivers weren't able in less than a year to perfect running a new (to them) offense while dealing with a very difficult schedule, and the coordinator struggled to adapt on the fly in one of the toughest conferences in the country.
It could just be that they have an ideal setup for this coming fall, if they can finish building in key areas this off-season.

It could be that Nick Saban himself has stepped down at Bama JUST so he could take the pinnacle job in college football and its so-so funded NIL at THE UofK as soon as it becomes available. Lol. The proverbial wet dream of the negs.

Have you ever lived there in January? Please review my previous comments on Chicago. I am in Ohio right now and it's a cold version of Hell but is probably the Caribbeanin comparison to Chicago. I could imagine living with this shit up there from November until May.
That wasn’t my point, and I'm sure it's a nice place to raise a family. I like most people I've met from there, good people. I like the city myself in summer.
If you listened to Matt Jones' show, you will realize that he said Mark Stoops was talking to people at A&M, but never accepted the job because he wanted to know who he could bring with him. Not even clear whether it was ever offered. Talking about what could/would happen does not equal an offer and an acceptance. If he actually "accepted" the job, that is a contract.

I am probably more inclined to give more credence to national football sources than KSR. The sources from Sports Illustrated and the Athletic told us exactly who dumped who. So be it, I was glad he stayed, but let's not make this into something it wasn't.
According to TA&M sports reporter, A&M president offered, CMS accepted, and the board nixed the deal. Said president had to have board approval before he could hire a coach, so they reneged on the offer AFTER CMS had accepted the offer from the president. Reporter said that gave them an out but the real issue was some big time donors and a large number of fans revolted at the announcement of CMS being hired.
Maybe he just made all that stuff up, huh??
