I think we need to tame down our expectations. This is a weak class overall.
Everyone likes our "shiny new toys" but we have only seen them play against other players in this weak class.
I expect a lot of adjustment for all these guys.
On the other hand, I think we are underselling the '16 guys who "underachieved" last season. Gabriel and Killeya-Jones were both top 25 in a loaded '16 class. They struggled in a year with lots of experienced players returning and everyone thinks they are scrubs. Same for Bolden at Duke. I look for those guys to be much improved. I wouldn't be surprised if Gabriel and Killeya-Jones both start and I expect them to be key rotation guys at the very least. Those guys are going to help these Freshmen.
And another thing, Diallo has a major advantage over every other elite Freshman in the entire class because he has had an extra semester in college. He has practiced against potential lottery picks everyday this Spring. Just that bit of a head start pushes Diallo into that "elite impact Freshman" group.
