So he'd turn down coaching the best in the game in Lebron & the Eastern Conference's best Cavs to take the Knicks job, possibly the worst franchise in the NBA? Plus dealing with the most overrated player in history in Carmelo "Let Me Shoot 50 Times A Game" Anthony with a no trade clause? I don't Cal is that stupid...
It makes some sense, at least as far as less stress and all that. Don't have to fly all over the place recruiting. Don't have to worry about NCAA putting Higgins on your tournament game. It's not much risk with high reward.
But he seems so high on Knox and Diallo and some of the other guys. Maybe he just wanted to see what the water temperature is.

You guys realize there's a difference between cleveland and New York, right? Cal knows that he has a good thing and isn't going to leave for just anything, but this is exactly the type of job he would take a long look at.
I just cant see him wanting to run the Knicks. If he is pursuing this it makes me think he is wanting out of KY for some reason. It just doesnt make sense.

It's been openly stated that the only reason he didn't take the Cavs (i think Cal even commented on this) job, is bc the Twins announced their return and he didn't want to let them down after preaching about 'family' the last 8 years. If the Twins don't return, there's a 90% chance Cal's with the Cavs right now. No notable returning players this year to fulfill a commitment to. The two situations are completely different IMO.
Per KSR...when Kyle tucker reach out to UK they stated "Cal is in Egypt and is 6 hours ahead of our time, so we have nothing to report and will let you know when there is something to state"....along those lines lol.
