CC told KSR he is open to talking about the vacancy. Heard something about he had his eyes on someone er ah something who plays for the Knicks now....I thought I heard that...

All we read about is sources or intermediaries. Not one name that can verify this. Someone is just trying to start rumors. Wouldn't be surprised if it was someone from UL or UNC trying to lessen the talk of their indiscretions. Also wouldn't be surprised if it were someone associated with Duke or Kansas (as someone else mentioned) to try and screw with the advantage in recruiting of Coach Cal and the U19 team.

They of course bring this up while he is in Egypt and busy with coaching and has less opportunity to defend himself. He probably is in bed right now with the time difference and doesn't even know about it yet. Hopefully he squashes the rumors first thing in the morning.

Cal could come out and admit interest in a job and some of you would still say it isnt true lol.

Oh you mean like the 927 jobs he's "had interest in/ was on the brink of taking " since he came to UK?

Kinda like that ?

You're negativity isn't even fun in a "oh he's a troll/ smooth as butter kinda way.

You Just have ridiculous takes on most things... no offense of course :)

Well say this is true....i'd like to see him leave with at least one more title to go along with 8 years of #1 ranked recruiting classes.

Your premise is a non sequitur. Who has the #1 recruiting class is not directly relevant to the question of who is or should be the best college basketball team in any year. Getting the No. 1 recruiting class won’t make you anywhere close to dominant if most of those players leave after one year and you can’t stack some of those classes,

Actually, the way Calipari has been able to take a bunch of freshmen and mold them together in a matter of months to even be competitive by March is amazing; and Calipari has one more championship than almost every other college coach out there today.

Not sure why this is so hard for some to believe. The guy works pretty darn hard, for a pretty demanding fanbase. It's not outside the realm of possibility to think he may like a less stressful job.

I don't know if it would be less stressful or demanding. Knick fans are up there. While I don't think Cal is serious on this one, an NBA Presidents job is exactly what I could see Cal leaving for but I won't worry about this until Cal wins that 2nd title.

Ohhh wow man, how cool. Thanks!!!! I like making fun of blow hards is all. :)

No thanks needed, and you're not really making fun of anyone ... ya know ? More just posting ridiculous takes on various topics :)
LOL like Cal could take another job and some of these posters would just pretend like he still coaches here after he's gone.

Fock!!!!!! I highly doubt he would be interested since he's been offered even better opportunities and turned them down. The knicks blow. I highly doubt the sources are true

I really doubt this happens, but not bc Cal isn't interested.
Some of you seem to have this dellusion that Cal is entirely closed to other opportunities. I've got news for ya- he's not. And he will leave one day.

I never believed Cal would leave for an NBA coaching job. His style of coaching just doesn't translate to coaching grown men with huge egos. But he's proven time and time again that he knows how to build a team. So I could def see him taking a president/GM job somewhere. I think this is true, and I'm a little worried honestly. The Knicks are like UK in that, if you make them great it has a lasting impact on your legacy. He'd have the ability to completely build the Knicks roster from the ground up, the exact way he wants to. If the Knicks ever show mutual interest in him, it may be curtains for UK.

He's got a better NBA job now with UK then he would with the Knicks. He gets to sign as many Lottery/1st Round picks as he can, doesn't have to worry about ping pong balls, and he's got a Wife who lived that NYC/NJ lifestyle and has gone on record saying she has zero interest in returning to NBA. So Cal is going to do this and the timing of this equates to what benefit for him/Knicks exactly? This is why the Knicks organization is a trash heap. Leaking fake news to pretend their is a lot of interest in a job that few covet or want to be associated with as long as James Dolan is in charge.
