How is everyone so certain Cal did not inquire about the position. Agents work the back channels all the time on behalf of their clients.

His agent is trying to make.himself money and I'm sure he makes more if Cal were to get a big time gig like that regardless of Cal's pay level. I have no idea how there business relationship is structured but that's an agents job, to get him opportunities to improve his stature and pay.

I will admit that I get nervous when these rumors get started. As many say on this board, where there is smoke.... That being said, I'm still nervous, of course Cal refutes the stories. If the Knicks didn't show interest he would be stupid to say he did inquire, that would almost totally ruin recruiting for the next year. The true reason I am still nervous is this:

Cal refuted stories he was going to leave Memphis and we see where that went. I love our coach and our team, but you would be a little insane to think there may not be some truth to him wanting be the president of the Knicks.

To be fair the jump from Memphis to Kentucky is greater than the jump from UK to New York at this time, all things considered.

Just like say

Going from Northwestern Football to Alabama - HUGE jump

But would it really be a "big jump " for Saban to leave bama for say... the titans ? Browns? Etc... I'd say not.
