Football Cats will face 4 of top 7 Heisman favorites...

Just noticed on Fan Duel that four of the top seven Heisman favorites are on UK's schedule:

#2 Carson Beck, UGA +750
#3 Quinn Ewers, TEX +1000
#5 Nico Iamaleava, TEN +1400
#5 Jaxson Dart, MIS +1400

On a related note... Colorado's Travis Hunter is the first non-QB on the board at +6000. Would you take a flier on that or is there too much potential voter bias against Deion & Co.?

Recruiting since Stoops (11-27-2012)

Utilizing 247 for recruiting rankings from 2012 - 2024 cycles, listed are the average of each team, except Texas & Oklahoma, over that time period.

Alabama 1.7
Georgia 4.38
LSU 7.15
TA&M. 10.17
Florida 11.23
Auburn 11.9
UT. 15.5
S C 19.6
Ole Miss. 26

MsSt. 26.3
Arkansas 30
Kentucky 31
Mizzo. 33
Vandy. 46

Seem there are several teams that get really good publicity that don't get good results from their recruiting rankings. What do you think? Remember this is the average over the last 12 years. Bama was either number 1 or 2 every year but 1 and they fell all the way to 5th in 2018.

From Rivals Listed Heights/Weights

We will look big getting off the bus.

25 listed as 6’ 5” or taller.

17 listed as 310 or heavier.

For a quick comparison, U of L has 19 that tall, and 8 that heavy. And since Brohm’s arrival, have closed some of the gap. They have a few D-linemen over 300 lbs, having had none three seasons, ago.

Malachi Wood is listed at 320 pounds!!

How would you rate UK Football if we have one the top 5 rated QB's in college football?

Let's here your opinion of this UK football team with a top 5 QB.?

I think some people really need to think about Brock and how he will/might perform this year. Thats why I ask the question. Remember Brock was a 5 STAR QB coming out of high school. Brock was on two national championship teams as a back up QB. So, what does that mean about him - well think about this. - what kind of coaching and competition did he face in practice everyday for 3 years? Georgia has been putting defensive players in the NFL like crazy the last 3 years! Many people made comments that Georgia's second team was a top 20 team........ Brock faced Georgia's first team defense all the time...... makes you think a little harder about him now doesn't it?

Go Big Blue!

FB Recruiting OL Jayden Clark's visit

Touched base with 3-star Ohio lineman Jayden Clark this morning. He visited Kentucky yesterday but had to check out early before even the end of the shortened game. Just that kind of day where everybody is navigating their own circumstances with the weather and travel. He had a long drive compared to most fans.

He said the time he did spend in Lexington was very enjoyable and a good day overall.

While on campus he spent his time connecting with Wolford, Stoops, Marrow, and a few other staffers and folks in the program.

He doesn't have any other college visits lined up. Still think this one looks very good for Kentucky. Don't know the timetable but nothing would surprise me.

For all of you CCC lovers ...

Here's a headline and the sub-headline on the Wall Street Journal's website this morning about CCC's Chicken Dynasty benefactors who lead The Calling of the Hogs in Fayetteville !

Alcohol, Arrests and Acrimony: The Troubled Legacy of America’s Chicken Dynasty

Four generations of Tysons have held senior roles at the company that bears their name. Now the future of their $21 billion empire is in question as it works to address slumping sales.

Didn't somebody really smart once say something about "birds of a feather . . . ." ???

But ... with utter contempt and disdain for CCC and his Hog Caller benefactors ... GO 'CATS ! ! !

Beer and NIL.

Hello, friends. As some of you may know, I am the founder of Gravely Brewing in Louisville, KY and have been a member of HOB forever. We even had a subscription (technically, my father's) to the print version of the The Cat's Pause before HOB existed. I was born in Lexington, raised in NKY, went to UK, and have since settled in Louisville. Since starting Gravely in 2017, we've hosted loads of UK watch parties, alumni events, bracket buster fundraisers, and more... YET, I could never figure out a concrete way to tie our product to an effort that supports UK beyond one-time events.

Enter Kentucky Blue Light, a light lager clocking in at 4.3% that's full of flavor while remaining incredibly crisp and refreshing. Designed for tailgating and watching games, I guarantee it's a brew you're going to enjoy. The greatest thing about it is that we did this in collaboration with Club Blue NIL, meaning proceeds from every unit or pour sold are going directly into the NIL. Easy (and rewarding) way to support the cause!

As for Club Blue, they've been a great partner to work with thus far. I feel pretty confidently that Club Blue will eventually become "the" NIL for UK Athletics and hope this co-branded beer and state-wide retail exposure helps solidify that as it's hard to compete in the new age of NIL when there are a half dozen collectives running around diluting the concentration of funds.

The plan was to go live on Monday but, of course, a leak occurred via my distributor but KSR was quick to pounce so today's the day. And some will ask why not a brewery in Lexington, to which I would say it's the University of Kentucky not University of Lexington! Lexington, IMHO, actually has a better craft beer scene than Louisville but I guess my blood is a just smidge bluer than the brewery owners in Lex 😏

PS. During this entire process, I think posting this info on HOB was one of the things I was looking forward to the most! Hope ya dig it! 🍻
