This feels right (it was never about Kentucky)

Today I honestly have felt pride in the program I haven’t in years. The more I reflect the more I come this conclusion…

For 15 years it was about Cal. It was about his vision. It was about his ego. It was about the names on the back of the jersey.

It wasn’t about Kentucky. It wasn’t about the program. It wasn’t about the school or the fans. For years we haven’t been united. There wasn’t pride in our accomplishments. There was pride in our players individual success.

Today has ignited memories and united the fan base. Our head coach loves Kentucky in his soul. He said it himself last month. From now on players will come here because they know it’s a privilege. Not because it’s a vehicle to the league. We’ll have players from the 90s back at games. And trust me a lot of Cals guys will be spending time in Fayetteville.

It is going to mean more when we win a championship with Mark Pope and that jacks me the F*** up. Let’s rally.

It’s Kentucky first now.

Oweh’s steal and dunk at the 2 minute mark with UK up just 5 pts

U of L had possession and a 3 would have cut the lead to just 2 but Oweh had other ideas!

His steal and thunderous slam sealed the game and Rupp went bananas!

One of the loudest moments in Rupp history!!

Point guard concerns ...

I'm concerned if a Clemson team is going to put our guards in foul trouble, just think what the top notch SEC schools that have overpowering guard combinations are going to do to us?
For that reason, I wish we would get our younger guards some more meaningful game time experience.
I'll be the first to say, I do not think Perry's or Noah's defense would be as effective as OO or Butlers.
I do however feel like their other intangibles could offset the defense liabilities.
It's not like Kerr is playing like Gary "the glove" Payton.
I think them getting that valuable game time experience early in the season will help us later in the season.
With all of that being said, I could not believe Chandler did not play the other night as well.
He brings an incredible amount of athleticism to the table.

Mizz ???? WTH???

How can they not be in the top 25 AND the tournament brackets at this point???
I know the SEC has about 50 teams in the top 25, but how can Mizz be left out ?
They are 9-1, beating the shit out of basically everybody they play, they beat Kansas, and only loss was first game of the season against what has proven to be a pretty good Memphis team.

The UK/UL rivalry isn't as much fun as it once was

I say that because I don't hate this Louisville team. I really like Pat Kelsey as a person, and I like his passion. And for the most part, I like the UL players. Both teams are so similar in that they each have a new coach - neither is a marquee name. And both teams play hard, play a fun style of ball, and they are greater than the sum of their disparate, misfit parts.

Don't get me wrong - I'm all UK and I want to beat UL every game for the rest of my life. But it's not as much fun as beating Rick Pitino, or players like Montrezl Harrell, Luke Hancock, Herbert Crook, or Everick Sullivan.

This team is underrated

Looking at the parts individually you would not say we are favorites to make a splash this year. How parts fit together is amazing and makes together with the coaching staff and BBN a force to reckon with. The team maturity and understanding of the game is off the charts and their are empowered by Coach Pope already. Calipari had teams that had a lot of talent ht never figured it out. This team has already figured it out.
Players are growing and developing right before our eyes.

If after the first month was Butler and Carr now you can see OO , JR and Garrison stepping up both from playing but also from maturity and speaking up. If you thought the Duke win was a fluke , the Gonzaga win under the special circumstances of that game should make you a believer.

I admit , at the begging of the season, I was not sold on going far in the tournament , thinking that Pope was over promoting . As long as we stay healthy this team will be in the final 4 and win number 9. Smart kids and Pope injected them with the a Kentucky virus. The Kentucky spirit is living in this team. They are on a mission to get better individually and as a team and to bring number 9. The tradition has been reinstated. Enjoy the ride , BBN!

Khamari Anderson

Auburn is looking to replace a trio of tight ends after Rivaldo Fairweather and Luke Deal graduated, along with Micah Riley transferring out. Former Kentucky tight end Khamari Anderson, who spent the last two seasons in Lexington, visited on Friday and Saturday and could be an option.

At 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds, Anderson caught a combined six passes for 40 yards during his two years for the Wildcats.

Terrible episodes of great TV shows

Star Trek -- The Alternative Factor (1967)

^ The script was nonsensical even before it got gutted (because the showrunners got cold feet about showing an interracial relationship that was integral the episode's plot), and in addition, the episode's troubled guest star, John Barrymore, left at lunch on the first day of filming and never came back (which led to him getting hammered with a six-month suspension from the Screen Actors Guild). The result's possibly the least comprehensible episode of any Star Trek show ever, which is saying something, because as much as I love Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation, both have some insanely bad episodes.

The Office -- Scott's Tots (2009)

^ It's a fantastic episode, I just think it's too difficult to stomach, let alone enjoy, because it finally crosses the line concerning the crappy behavior of Michael and especially Dwight. I've seen it a few times but I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

Anyway, what's on your list? =)

Beware of the 'injured' player....

There's a saying in golf "Beware the sick golfer" (Google the meaning if you don't know)

Butler was that sick golfer last night...

Unreal stat line!

Obviously made a quick recovery and Pope was throwing off all week making it sound iffy whether or not he would play....Pope crafty keeping the opponent guessing

FB Recruiting THE WAR ROOM!

** There has been the report about UNC and Marrow. However, as of early afternoon, I am told that it is not to the point of Marrow having to make a decision. Hasn't gotten that far along yet. When I first heard the report my instinct was, oh, this could be one that gets him away. But then I was told it wasn't that far along yet.

** The quarterbacks I am hearing about right now are Calzada from Incarnate Word, Kyron Drones from Virginia Tech, and Billy Edwards from Maryland. What I heard was one of those guys was supposed to go into the portal yesterday and it didn't happen so they are waiting on that. One is playing now and they are waiting on that. And I think the Edwards kid is already taking some other visits.

** UK has Arkansas OL Joshua Braun and WKU OL Evan Wibberley on board already. They are both interior offensive linemen. That means they still need tackles and it has not been easy to find and position for guys who are really good. There's a big name guy who could possibly go in soon and UK would be very interested but otherwise it's the people we have mentioned and will double down on that soon.

** Brad White apparently really likes USC EDGE Sam Greene, who just committed following his visit. He is one of the guys who I was pretty confident they would be able to land but hadn't heard with as much confidence from as many people. At 6'1, 255, he's a tweener build and was listed as a defensive end for the Trojans. He played 205 snaps and had a 67.9 overall PFF score. That was 77.0 tackling, 65.6 run defense, 64.3 pass rush, 66.4 coverage, so a well rounded player who saw as much time for USC as Fearbry saw for Kentucky. The question is if he's ready to step in and start right away with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

** UK is thinking about bringing in Oklahoma DL Dasan McCullough for a visit. Formerly at Indiana. I know that has been a serious conversation so he is someone to watch even with Greene committed.

** I think there is a sense that UK let too many guys go via the portal. Losing guys like Keeshawn Silver, Tyreese Fearbry, Noah Matthews was not ideal if you don't have guys coming in that you know will play in their place.

** UK has a chance to add RB Ahmad Hardy, who just visited Ole Miss, but the asking price is going to be a lot. From what I have heard, at least one of the additions they have at this point (announced or unannounced) accounted for a lot more money than they would have anticipated so to hit the right mark with someone like Hardy all of that is connected.

** From what I've been told UK is in good shape with Wake Forest WR Horatio Fields coming out of the visit. Would give them size and experience on the outside.
