Worst I have seen the fans in rupp.

Under 3 min and multiple possessions to make a defensive stop against the 4th ranked team in the country our fans in the lower level are sitting moan and groaning instead of screaming and backing the team. The fans denied our gots the home advantage playing in rupp used to bring. It was awful, embarassing and I feel bad for our team to not have fans backing them up giving them the advantage they needed.

There's a chance...

There is a chance we find out something more solid on NMSU OT Shiyazh Pete today or tomorrow.

We have been saying Kentucky has a great shot and it seems like the other reports have come around to that position. However no decision has been made yet.

It is very possible that we learn something today or tomorrow. When I have dug to find out whether it's DEFINITELY going to be a spring semester transfer I was told that is not the thinking, they would be willing to get this guy however they can.

The feeling is he can be a first round draft pick if he is developed properly. That's the upside. Not saying it will happen but some folks in football behind the scenes believe that he has so many attributes that most other OTs simply don't have.

You can’t keep calling Brea the best 3pt shooter in the nation…

…if he’s not going to attempt any more 3’s than Brandon freaking Garrison.

Since day one Pope has been adamant in nearly every press conferences about getting 32-35 3pt FGA’s up per game, yet rarely do we actually DO it. We only got 27 tonight, and several of those were too late to matter.

If ever there was a game when we needed to hit that number, it was this game. And Brea in particular MUST shoot more.

Also, if I’m Pope and I watch Andrew Carr pass up one more wide open 3, I’m benching him. And you can’t use his back as an excuse — he’s been doing that all season. After he did it in the first half, Bama didn’t respect him the rest of the game.

We’re fine

We just didn’t get it done today.
Think they played with a little more sense of urgency because they just lost at home. We made some errors and bad judgments that we can get better at and I feel we’ll learn from. Great coaching notes from this stuff. They have an All American PG that’s been there for 10 years it seems. They hit much better FT% than they normally do. All in all, they just played a little better than we did, but that’s ok. It’s easy to see we can play with anybody, that’s all we want as fans.

Go Cats, we’ll get them next time!!!!!!

We Get the Worst Home Whistle in the SEC

It's fact. And it's by the largest margin of any of the SEC schools. Alabama had lost the free throw battle in its two previous away games shooting 8 fewer against A&M and 5 fewer than South Carolina. They have won FTA in all of their home games. Today they get FOURTEEN!!! more free throws. Florida has won FTA at home, even in their loss against Mizzou. They have lost it all away games (Arkansas got to the line 10 more times in Fayetteville) except for "drum roll* at UK where they got 35 to our 24. We.actually shot one more free throw than MSU and the very few times the home team has not the most FTA, it's not been by more than two free throws. None of it has been enough to have impacted the result of the game (South Carolina shot two more than Vandy and lost by 3 at Vandy and Georgia got two more FTA at UT and was still blown out.

Defense

In order to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament, you got to win 6 games as we all know, defense wins championships, I don't care what the sport is, that just the history of all sports, defense creates offense, not that we need the help on offense, bash me all you want, but going forward from here, defense and offense rebounding has to be 💯 percent, a major priority going forward, staying between your man and the basket, stopping penetration to the basket is a must. Hope we see a big improvement in these areas before tournament time

Shiyazh Pete...

Mentioned two nights ago there could be a decision in the near future. While that has not happened publicly or officially to my knowledge, stuff still obviously happens behind the scenes.

There has been some enthusiasm from different sources than I had previously heard from and that was today. Take it for what it's worth. Nobody has shown me that it's a done deal but as of this hour I still sense some confidence.

Not much for moral victories

But the guys played hard and had a chance. It's tough to lose at home ...ask Florida Alabama and Mississippi State.
It's really pretty amazing how many of us are ready to buy Final Four tickets.

Staff has done a fine job with these guys. Really only two that are good defensive guys.

Alabama was the better team today. This game. Had an answer every time Cats tried to get a run. Really good basketball team. Congrats to them....today.

On to the next game. Hope our guys find some way to heal up.
