And they recruit to that system. Cal has admitted he has no system, he adjusts our playing style to the players he recruits. That has proven to not be sustainable. I have defended Cal all season, but this is ridiculous. We were not prepared and freelanced the entire night. Outside of Reeves, none of our guards wanted to shoot, we didn't attack offensively and our Bigs allowed smaller players to outrebound them. Oakland outhustled us and showed they wanted this game more than we did.
We are 1-4 in the last NCAA tournaments and that`s not acceptable, not here. Again, I have defended Cal all season, but it is time to reset and find a coach who will respect the name on the jersey and coach like it.

Season review. What you were wrong and right about.

Wrong:

I was wrong about Dillingham and Shepherd. Boot better than expected.

Wrong about Justin Edwards. Thought he’d be THE star of the team. He was okay by the end.

Wrong about Cal not adapting offense. The offense definitely was different and better.

I thought Ugo would be more valuable. More important. Wrong. He just wasn’t that good and his floor is lower than i realized. And there were some on here that were telling us that.

Right:

DJ and Aaron were overrated. Neither are terrible. And DJ i thought at least reeled it in enough to where he wasn’t shooting us out of games. But he was never going to be a star as a freshman.

Thiero had better college upside than Chris Livingston

Cal has gotten to a point where he can’t handle success. We win a big game, and then look like crap a game or two later. This is two years in a row we closed the season with a huge road win and shit the bed in not just the next game but the next two games.

Cal reverts to a lot of old(bad) habits when things get tight in the biggest moments.

Reed is not ready.

A transfer from illinois state can in fact be good enough to be the best player at UK.

10 or more losses. Not a title threat.

Lastly, it wasn’t the players.

Point of this thread is we were all right and wrong about stuff. It’s okay to be wrong. It’s okay to admit. Cal changed some things. I didn’t think he would. It’s still time for him to hang it up.

You Cal Out? This is how you do it.

  1. Don't go to games next year at Rupp
  2. Don't give to NIL fund
  3. Do a billboard like you did for Big Z for CCC to get the hell out of Lexington -- Maybe something like, "John Vincent Calipari has over stayed his welcome in Lexington"

If you do 1 or 2. You're enabling Cal and Mitch.

Money talks.

It worked against Joker Philips when Commonwealth was 10% full against the Vandy game in football.

It doesn't matter who Cal has on his team, he won't do crap. He's done, he's washed, he's a narcissist who only cares about himself and what he can do for the NBA.

I have no confidence we will make it out of the first round in the NCAA tourney no matter the seed.

Good coaches have a system
