Just listened to Aaron Torres update from earlier. He floated the possibility of a renegotiated deal where Cal could come back next year with a four year contract, presumably at his current salary, BUT the buyout goes down to $5 million. So next year really would be his last chance and if he flops then there is a buyout UK can easily afford.

Fact. All-time leading scorer, goes out with a Championship. That will never be topped in any of our lifetimes. Now let's just hope the kid doesn't wind up as an alcoholic in the gutter after Cal ruins him.

Can we talk little brother into taking him? I think it would be a good hire for them and us.

Cal did this to himself, he put all his chips in on this team. This was the team that was supposed to be Kentucky basketball good and look at where we are now.

There is absolutely nothing Cal can do or say to get this fan base back on board. If you lose this fan base then the decision is an easy one to make. You will not last here without the fans.

I think he can coach, can recruit and is a big personality to handle the job. Yes, he hasn't want a title but neither had Cal before UK.

….run it back with Adou, Reed , Z, Wagner and the recruiting class plus a couple portal pieces with a ‘final four or bust ‘ mentality…maybe even with a reduced buyout . Staff changes to help defensively . I think I’d take that , also knowing it’d give us time to line up a potential replacement. I don’t see a scenario where a new coach could have us better than we would be with Reed, Wagner, and the number two class.

Could Mitch hold out one year with an ultimatum? Say like must be a final four trip?

Or are all of us giving our uninformed opinions and rumors. Mitch will have to speak sooner or later. Either he fires Cal or endorses him. Only then will we know.

No coach including Cal would coach where they’re not wanted. He’s totally lost the fanbase and he knows. Locally and national media are finally calling him out.

Some think his ego and the money will make him come back but his ego will be what make him no longer coach UK. The fans will be relentless on their attacks on him so much that you would here boos after losing any home games and maybe just announcing his name.

He doesn’t need the money so why go through the torment? Like some are suspecting he will reach an agreement and not the full amount to leave.

I did, and am now ready to fire the coach. Is that fair?

He’s just too good a coach at a low major program. Is very successful in the tournament. Teams are well coached and balanced. Zags can’t match what UK can pay. The man would be hungry for a title. That’s the thing with the coach question is the tournament will provide answers
