Time for Pitino to retire.

When you get “out coached” by Cal you know you are washed up. He basically said in the post game comments he gave up on his star player with 5 mins in the game. He’s the one that got them there! Kept jacking up 3s never taking advantage at the end of the first half of Arky foul trouble.
Maybe this board can finally move on from Ricky. Would have been a legend and wished he stayed but was shocked on how he coached today

Where would enthusiasm for Oweh's return to school rank since probation ended?

I've got him at #6 in terms of potential fan enthusiasm for a returning player.

#1. Jamal Mashburn returns for junior year.
#2. Tony Delk returns for senior year.
#3. Ron Mercer returns for sophomore year.
#4. Terrence Jones returns for sophomore year.
#5. Tayshaun Prince returns for senior year.
#6. Otega Oweh returns for senior year.

Let's talk Kenpom Defensive efficiency

After the last 2 games, Kentucky has moved up to #84 in Kenpom defensive efficiency. Granted, it's nothing to write home about. Kentucky's current offensive ranking is #2.

But Alabama finished #111 after last year's final 4 run. Their offensive ranking was #2.
Miami finished #99 after their final 4 run 2 years ago. Their offensive ranking was #6.

Obviously neither team won the championship. But those are two examples FROM THE LAST TWO YEAERS of subpar defensive teams getting to the Final 4.

If we can get healthy...

The Athletic: Top FCS/D2 Transfers to P4 Transfers (Two Cats Mentioned

Please don't make this another "OMG STOOPS CANT LEAVE FAST ENOUGH" thread. We can at least talk about our actual players...there's 500 other threads to wish for new coaching.

1. Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace, Edge, South Dakota → Kentucky

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound junior was the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. He had 59 tackles, including 17 for loss and 9.5 sacks, and helped the Coyotes reach the FCS semifinals. Humphrey-Grace has two years of eligibility left and picked the Wildcats over Georgia, Ohio State and Mississippi State. He’s likely to start alongside Washington State transfer David Gusta and rising junior Jaden Williams.

5. Zach Calzada, QB, Incarnate Word → Kentucky

The former three-star recruit and 10-game starter at Texas A&M in 2021 made a pitstop at Auburn (2022) before enjoying two standout seasons at Incarnate Word. He won the Southland Conference Player of the Year award last season when he completed 66 percent of his attempts for 3,791 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also ran for 332 yards and five scores. Calzada still has to beat out talented sophomore Cutter Boley to win the job in Lexington.

Parlays anyone? Better think twice

I almost never bet a parlay, and after reading an article in WSJ today about the rise of parlays on gambling sites, I will definitely avoid them. The takeaway is what a losing prop they are for bettors. Average profit on "normal" bets is somewhere between 6-7% or so (higher than I would have thought), but gambling sites make about 20% on parlays, making them a classic sucker bet. By way of comparison, think the take at a race track is 12-13%, which is pretty much impossible to overcome in the long run. Naturally, the gambling sites heavily promote parlays, because they are making a killing on them.
