Inefficient use of limited NIL resources

It’s no secret that UK is fighting an uphill battle with the rest of the SEC when it comes to their NIL budget. Stoops has complained about it repeatedly. But one overlooked aspect of that challenge this year hasn’t been the size of the overall NIL budget, but instead the misallocation of resources to bring in comparatively expensive players that haven’t contributed much to winning.

UK likely spent a significant portion of their available NIL dollars on offseason additions like Chip Trayanum, Brock Vandagriff, and Gerald Mincey. Nothing against these players personally, but they have been a significant NIL investment for limited to no on-field benefit. Not to mention guys like Barion Brown, who take up a large NIL sum to hold onto each season but are inconsistent on-field contributors at best.

For UK to truly be competitive in this new SEC, the coaching staff (or a potential future football general manager position) have to be more efficient with their personnel scouting going forward to maximize value when comparing player production to NIL cost. UK just straight up doesn't have the available NIL budget to have multiple high dollar underperforming players each year.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

Pope has daughters too. I'd offer fans stop interacting with the family of any of our coaches. Its just bad form
No one interacted with Cal’s family.. they combed social media looking for opportunities to cut down the fans. Hog fans won’t be able to avoid them..

D-League

I attended today's game here in ATX at Darrel K. Royal Memorial Stadium. After going downstairs to the use men's room at halftime, I looked at monitor and score read 24-7. It was a few minutes into 3rd quarter. 4th down and 11. Boley replaced Vandagriff at QB. I had enough, so I left the stadium. Caught the bus. UKgrad93 texted. I later sent him a lengthy text explaining I left. Enough is enough.

Yeah, nightmarish season. Fix the O-line. Good grief, they gave up 6 sacks on two QBs today. Replace Vandagriff. He's an interception machine. Develop a decent running back room.

That's all.
I quit watching at halftime too. What were you wearing to the game? I caught a glimpse of someone that was a little older than the average fan shown...maybe you?

POLITICAL THREAD

From a FoxNews article......

'California restaurateurs are celebrating Donald Trump's divisive victory with skyrocketing sales, according to celebrity chef Andrew Gruel.

"The very next day when Trump won, our sales doubled almost from week on week. And I spoke to restaurant owners all over the place because I posted about that. They were like, 'Us too,' 'Us too,' 'Our catering [has] gone up,' 'This has gone up.'"
According to Gruel, restaurants are the "best index" for people's emotions.

"I think it's just the mere sigh of relief that, okay, this is over,"

Hamdan offense

Did anyone else think the offense looked a lot better with a different qb that made faster decisions?

I wonder if Hamdan knows of an offensive line coach someplace?
Honestly, to me, it looked like a DIFFERENT offense. Ball comes out quicker, shorter route trees, etc. Boley seems to grasp what to look for pre-snap and where to throw post snap much quicker than Brock (and Levis and Leary, too, for that matter). He's not perfect but sure looks a lot more polished than Brock.

POLITICAL THREAD

I remember reading an article about 3-4 years ago that his goal was to be Gov of Florida. Maybe he's angling now to run in a couple of years when DeSantis steps down. I guess his Dad has been in the Florida House/Senate for years and is now (I think) Pres of the Florida Senate.

Kentucky is currently 4th in the entire nation in overall scoring and we'll probably be first in a week.

Yes, and we play a Western Kentucky team that likes to run. They are giving up 73 points per game while scoring 81 per game. They've already played two common opponents that UK played, beating Lipscomb 66-61 and Jackson State 79-62.

Then we play Georgia State, which averages 81 and gives up 77 per game.

We should be able to get into the high low 90s against Western Kentucky, and probably pass 100 again against Georgia State, a program that gave up 101 points already this year to a pedestrian Mississippi State team.

We are definitely one of the best offenses this year, and I love watching them play - on both sides of the ball! And these kids are easy to root for because of the the style and effort of their play.

Don’t sleep on that MSU team. I watched them beat SMU at Moody Coliseum and they looked dangerous. Hubbard is solid but they have some nice pieces around him. We go to Starkville 1/11 this year. SEC is going to be rough.

Hmm. Aaron Bradshaw

Another note on “point shaving”, if you pay attention AT ALL during game play, it’s quite easy to spot someone who is point shaving, that’s why it rarely happens anymore from players.

Now with the Refs, they point shave (for the sports betting industry) all the time, and fans just call them blind, incompetent, or hate the coach or particular university, to make excuses for blatant cheating from the officials, that they don’t want to admit is happening!
