Maybe that means he’s better than he shows. How could he point shave? He can't make a basket when he's trying.

Yeah, my point really isn't about Bradshaw at all, it's about what hapoens to programs at the end of Calipari's rein.---
A whopping eighty posts........
Bound to be better than he has shown so far but my point, which was part serious at least, is that only good players can point shave or throw games. Bradshaw shooting poorly and turning the ball over is baked into the line. Now he could help beat the line if he could play good when he wanted but having watched him an entire year I just don't think he has any feel for the game or much skill, just a tall guy that can run and jump.Maybe that means he’s better than he shows.
I’m glad the guy is gone, but it’s entirely for his inability to win and nothing else. I still don’t believe he has any responsibility in the Camby and Rose situations, and I won’t change tune on that just to heap more shit on the dude. He’s sucked as a coach for the last 4 years and was never able to turn the corner back to his best years at UK. Thats enough to want him gone without needing to change how I viewed those situations.Yeah, my point really isn't about Bradshaw at all, it's about what hapoens to programs at the end of Calipari's rein.
Yep, I defended him over the Camby and Rose situations before he became UK's coach. I was happy when Cal got hired and now I'm even happier he's gone but I'll never believe he is a devil; he's just not a great coach.I’m glad the guy is gone, but it’s entirely for his inability to win and nothing else. But you’re assuming Kentucky is gonna get in trouble. We barely know anything about the situation. So if Bradshaw was point shaving and UK had to forfeit the season, you don't think that would be similar?
Ok, I'll read one more post and this is the one. I'm good now. Poor guy, we dodged a bullet !He was doing 107 mph while talking to his bookie on the way to a pride rally. Busted.
I bet you read this....Ok, I'll read one more post and this is the one. I'm good now. Poor guy, we dodged a bullet !
"federal privacy laws" also includes injuries and other thingsDidn't see any arrest positing. So unless that just happened today.....
With the term "federal privacy laws" being tossed about, the feds are likely involved.
No team comes out and says that for an injury. Now, it could be academic probation, but again, I've never seen a university say that quite like that."federal privacy laws" also includes injuries and other things
I'm not saying Cal knew anything, but when you swim in the waters he swims in, shit happens. He puts the players over the program, he puts already entitled players on a pedestal and that can get out of control and it did at UMass and Memphis.I’m glad the guy is gone, but it’s entirely for his inability to win and nothing else. No, no, no, I'm certainly not assuming UK is getting in trouble. But if it did happen, it would be the third time. That's a bad reputation to have. But you’re assuming Kentucky is gonna get in trouble. We barely know anything about the situation.
Can’t keep an eye on these guys 24/7. Neither situations happened on campus.I'm not saying Cal knew anything, but when you swim in the waters he swims in, shit happens. He puts the players over the program, he puts already entitled players on a pedestal and that can get out of control and it did at UMass and Memphis.
Now, I defended Cal for years on both situations, because it is true, he didn't do anything wrong, but in both situations, he should have known.
Those two situations are so different I am not going to treat them as a duo so right not I'll just address the Camby situation. That was a player doing something behind the coach and university's back and the coach and school were the victims in that particular situation. There was no way Cal or UMASS could have known in advance about that situation and they could not have stopped it and even if it had never came to light they gained nothing from Camby taking that agent's money(he was playing his last year at UMASS; it's not like cheating to get a player). The NCAA has said that and Camby has apologized to Cal and UMASS. If Camby can admit it then everybody should be able to admit the truth about that one. You can lump the UMASS thing with any other thing and try to claim a pattern but it's an imaginary pattern. I did not like Cal's coaching but he was here a long time and he did not commit NCAA violations and it doesn't appear that he did before he got here either.I'm not saying Cal knew anything, but when you swim in the waters he swims in, shit happens. He puts the players over the program, he puts already entitled players on a pedestal and that can get out of control and it did at UMass and Memphis.

I never got a bad vibe from Bradshaw. Seems like a good kid. However, WCS in 2015 during the Wisconsin game made me feel uneasy. All of a sudden (it seemed like) he seemed to be bad at almost every aspect of his game. I don't just feel that way now, because of this pt shaving talk. I have thought that since that night. Something was off.Really, your eagle eye hindsight gonna take you there. I watched UK as much as anyone last year and he seemed a good kid, he was injured early but he was showing up at those charity games and kid games with big positive smile and vibe.
I agree with you. Our compliance dept is top notch. They have to be, because, as we all know, if ANYTHING remotely associated with KY were to come up, everyone across the nation would be jumping on it. Even a speeding or parking ticket would probably make the national news. Even if it was just a rumor. Normally, it's innocent until proven guilty, but with Kentucky, most if the time I believe it's guilty until proven innocent.Possible, but I doubt it. Our compliance department is damn good. Not to mention if anyone DID catch wind of it UK would've been on every headline in America.
Even if Cal was "agreeable" to something sneaky, so to speak, I truly believe that our compliance dept would not let it happen, if possible. With it being Kentucky, they have to be on top of EVERYTHING!Yes I know that UK has been good at self reporting. I'm not saying that UK knew about it. I'm saying it won't matter if UK knew about it or not. If Bradshaw point shaved while at UK UK gets punished BADLY REGARDLESS if UK knew about it or not. Which honestly I don't think they knew about it.
With Cal being the way he is, it wouldn't surprise me at all (about the dumb lineups and throwing the game). But then again, he's always doing stupid stuff like that.Truth. Hell, Cal shaved points all damned year last season with the dumb lineup combinations he put on the court.
Wrong forum. He was doing 107 mph while talking to his bookie on the way to a pride rally. Busted.
Indeed you are. There is a general forum here for non-basketball-related nonsense.I’m legitimately confused lol
I think that poster was making a joke about Aaron Bradshaw’s reason for suspension, which is on topic, right? The topic is about a former Wildcat. Btw he plays for Ohio State not Arkansas so your message confuses for numerous reasons.Indeed you are. There is a general forum here for non-basketball-related nonsense.
So does that mean we'd have to vacate our NCAA tournament losses to St Peters and Oakland?-1996 UMass/Camby… Cal "didn't know", then left town
-2008 Memphis/Rose…Cal "didn't know" then left town
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's Calipari
Its someone's time of the month 😂I’m legitimately confused lol
So does that mean we'd have to vacate our NCAA tournament losses to St Peters and Oakland?
I'm okay with that.
Yeah. He is still reading this threads. Poor guy.Ah, come on now. Let's not kick him when he's down.
Sorry. Should have put a winking emoji at the end. It was a joke. You only vacate wins.
Yeah but our players got paid. Rupp was paying some of our guys 50 and 60 per game, which was decent money back thenBy the way, back when throwing games and point shaving did happen college players didn't get paid at all and coaches got paid crap and even pro players didn't make big bucks. Now there is just a lot more money to be made by winning.
But my point still stands; players and coaches were not being paid comparable to today so there was a lot more temptation to do dishonest things for money then.Yeah but our players got paid. Rupp was paying some of our guys 50 and 60 per game, which was decent money back then
So, he plays football at Georgia now?He was doing 107 mph while talking to his bookie on the way to a pride rally. Busted.
I love the way you think. So does that mean we'd have to vacate our NCAA tournament losses to St Peters and Oakland?
I'm okay with that.
Since we are going to assume that we know what is going on, let's consider this. Maybe the real reason Cal left Kentucky is one of his buddies informed him about this investigation. The story that I read stated that another player has already been released from the program he played for because of point shaving. The point shaving scandal involves other players whose names will soon be released, and the players under investigation have a Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania connection. This investigation is just really getting started and it may result in the total ban of college sports betting.I'm not saying Cal knew anything, but when you swim in the waters he swims in, shit happens. He puts the players over the program, he puts already entitled players on a pedestal and that can get out of control and it did at UMass and Memphis.
