Yeah. You’re right. Missed MKG…MKG was a defensive Swiss Army knife and great college slasher. Taking him into consideration I’d say the 2012 team has the edge on team defense and this Duke team is probably slightly better offensively.

I was included in this in previous seasons, but I haven’t been taking the time to publish my results recently.

To punt a bit, I would say that all models are basically different data points, so I think this composite method is a great way of looking at things.

As far as better or worse than mine, I optimize for the tournament in a way that most don’t, so I think mine is slightly better at predicting results in tournament games.

Also, lots of the early season models use a certain amount of guesswork. That has become more challenging with the flood of players transferring each season, imo.

For that reason, I think my model has a sweet spot around midseason heading into conference play. I have a better grasp of how good or bad some of the mid majors are - the ones who spend November/December on the road in hostile environments.

By around February, everyone kind of catches up. It’s hard to get much of an edge over Kenpom, or Sagarin, or Vegas by the time everyone is crunching only current season data.

Idk if he's spiteful, I think his priorities are screwed up. Always have been, but something came loose in his melon and it all went sideways.
He thinks he's doing a great job, at best that's a huge lack of awareness.

Malachi plays the Davis role very well (not saying he’s as good as Davis but very impactful) in cleaning up misses, lobs, and altering everything at the rim.

Lamb was a knock down shooter and is what they need Con Knueple to be close to. Beyond that, Flagg is better all around than TJones. Darius Miller is probably the other advantage 2012 UK has. The rest are lean Duke or pushes

The E-4B's I worked on in the Air Force had I believe 210,000 pounds of thrust between the 4 engines. The planes could get darn close to breaking the sound barrier. They were more powerful than the airline 747's. That was when they were built back around 1973-1975. I was a crew chief on them from 92-95. I'm sure they're much improved since then.

Fully loaded I believe each was at least 700,000 pounds (some newer ones can get close to a million pounds). So that rocket could lift the equivalent of over 46 million pounds if I am figuring it out right. Now taking off into space is a lot different than taking off gradually to fly into the sky.

I think the Starship can only really carry about the weight of a single unfueled 747. That still is very impressive. I'm hoping for advancements in space exploration that will lead to mankind setting foot on another planet/moon before I die. Our moon again at least and we can finally prove the first moon landing was real (or was it? 😆).

It would be really cool to see us send people into deep space. That would likely be a one way trip. I'm guessing we are still a century or more from being able to make that happen. We need to get on the ball to match Star Trek. They created warp travel about 40 years from now 😆. Get on it Elon.

I’ve no problem with qualified women in positions of authority (well maybe a little), but it’s starting to feel a bit like trump is selecting women simply because they’re women instead of merit
