But why is it considered a murderers schedule when you play Florida, Vandy, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Arkansas……? It’s not like teams play every good sec team yearly.

I went over to the UF board to see how they were handling the loss. The reaction to Napier was exactly what you would expect. The fans want Kiffen. I think Kiffen would take the job and immediately turn UF around and put UF back in the top 4 of the SEC.
I don't believe it's written in stone that any particular conference is guaranteed jack. The top 4 conference champions gets the auto bids. In theory, that could be SEC, BIg 10, Big 12, and TWO midmajor champions.

Don't have any online images to link, I only took slides in the cave. We did publish the story of the exploration of Jackpot Cave (which is where the huge gypsum passage is) in the July 2008 issue of the National Speleological Society News, and it's online but only available to members. There are photos in the article.
The playoff rules at present are stupid. The acc and big 12 champ (or any champ) should not be guaranteed a bye unless they are one of the top 4 ranked teams. Look for this dumb rule to be changed asap when it expands..
