What's going on in Bardstown

Even if true, that's still a pretty tenuous connection to commit two brutal murders. Ellis' babysitter became aware of some criminal conspiracy so she and her mother were killed but Ellis' wife wasn't?

That doesn't make any sense to me.
There is a strong sentiment even with the family that it wasn't related. At least that's what I have heard.

If you're in Louisville and want to get to Bardstown, take Bardstown Road. Just be aware that something super crazy happens. Bardstown Road turns into Louisville Road. That's some Twilight Zone bullshit. I've been stuck in this metaphysical Bardstown Louisville Road loop for two weeks now. Please send help.

Just found out a friend of mine’s wife is the widow of that officer in this story. Pretty crazy. I’ll bring it up one day if I ever muster the courage.

Ive only been out there a few times but it always struck me as one of the nicer looking small towns. All of this stuff makes you wonder.

Most KY small towns look more or less the same to me. Danville and Bardstown always stuck out as two that actually looked nice, could be a good place to move to and raise kids, and have a nice bucolic pace, Rockwellian as it were.

I guess not. Lexington is slowly changing and I find myself increasingly wanting to move outside of the city.
Nothing wrong with Bardstown… There is more money there now than ever… Some come by it honest and some don’t. Stay away from those that don’t👍😁

Has seemed like bluster from the start by the FBI to try and get someone to crack. Case has a better case of never being solved than anything at this point IMO. Everyone knows what happened but unless they find a body or someone cracks I don’t see how a case can be made. If it’s just the two brothers who have intimate knowledge of details they aren’t cracking.

Hope I’m wrong.

@shaymcalisterTV is the follow on this story. Doing a full live segment at 4pm on WHAS11 today.

I sure hope they find the people responsible for the various deaths. I wonder if they are all connected or coincidental in time, or what. so strange. (Clearly, the girl and her dad are connected...but the teacher and her daughter? weird stuff).

The FBI announced this afternoon that it has concluded its search of the Houck family farm and released no other information. I guess we will have to see whether it was a dry hole or the FBI agents are incredibly tightlipped.

So I think I will try to make sense of this based upon your ramble:

  • Ellis's wife was sleeping with the police chief.
  • Nick Houck was in charge of the evidence room at Bardstown Police and the only thing missing was a Remington 870 pump that experts believe is the type of gun that killed Ellis.
  • Nick Houck's brother Brooks Houck was the boyfriend of Crystal Rogers
  • The mother and daughter were killed in Botland which is not close to Bloomfield.. Are you saying the daughter was a baby sitter for the Houck's? I have not heard this yet.
I am having a hard time believing these are connected. All of these happened at 3 different spots in the county that are not really that close.
There was also a State Trooper killed on the Bluegrass pkyway near Bardstown when he pulled someone over. I worked with the mother of Crystal Ballard. Not only was Crystal killed but a year later her father was ambushed and killed while hunting. None of these murders have been solved.

He didn’t pull someone over. He was on his way home and the off ramp had a large tree limb or something like that placed in the middle. Enough for someone had to get out and remove. He was clearly ambushed.

He wasn't a state trooper, he was a local cop. He also didn't pull anyone over, someone blocked his exit ramp late at night and ambushed him with a shotgun when he got out of his car to remove the debris from the road.

Won’t amount to a damn thing unless they find “Top Secret” documents….🙄… Optics 👍

I can't find anything on a state trooper killed along the Bluegrass parkway, only the murder of Officer Ellis at the Springfield exit in Nelson County.

I didn’t realize there was a trooper killed on the BGP.

Has Houck started saying he is being harrassed? I think hes guilty but damn. Surely they could find something on him by now.

I am thinking she was put into a barrel and burned or dropped into a river. She will never be found but hope I am wrong.
