What would Calipari have done with the Arkansas roster (plus Quaintance) at UK?

You guys think Jaxon Robinson is going to be your best player. I dont know much about your transfers but if any SEC team has Jaxon Robinson as their best player they are screwed bigly.
What do you know? You have last year’s Kentucky roster minus the talent and UK’s recruiting class minus the best player.
Arkansas fans believing they are relevant again reminds everyone that you’re the worst program in the SEC.

Didn’t read all the posts but the answers are……..screw it up , choke , and disappoint . When we beat North Carolina last year I creeped over on some other boards (Duke, North Carolina, Kansas etc .) to see what they were thinking about our team . The consensus on every board was , “Great team but Cal will screw it up” . Of course they were right.

Well they “should “ be better than last year but…………they just lost a better coach for this day and age than their current one .

How? They don’t have talent, shooters, an awful coach, awful assistants, and the coach doesn’t even care about winning according to this board. They should win maybe 10 games.

Overall talent ranking of the two rosters:
#1. Davis - Arkansas
#2. Fland - Arkansas
#3. Robinson - Kentucky
#4. Big Z - Arkansas
#5. Oweh - Kentucky
#6. Carr - Kentucky
#7. Brea - Kentucky
#8. Wagner - Arkansas
#9. Garrison - Kentucky (high potential to move up)
#10. Williams - Kentucky
#11. Aidoo - Arkansas
#12. Kriisa - Kentucky
#13. Knox - Arkansas
#14. Thiero- Arkansas (high potential to move up)
#15. Butler - Kentucky
#16. Brazile - Arkansas (high potential to move up)
#17. Chandler - Kentucky (high potential to move up)
#18. Richmond - Arkansas (high potential to move up)
#19. Almonor - Kentucky
#20. Perry - Kentucky (high potential to move up)
#21. Noah - Kentucky (high potential to move up)
Aidoo was All SEC and is way better than a mid major big (Williams) and the 5th leading scorer on the 13th place team in the Big 12 (Garrison). I also think Carr is better than Big Z and Oweh and has the potential to be our bewt player.

Mainly because they were so bad last year. They should always have enough talent to win over 20 games though. But Cals lineup choices and lack of in game coaching ability will limit their tournament success.

10+ losses. 2nd-4th in the SEC. Out in the first weekend. Rinse repeat.

Same thing he’ll do at Arkansas.
This.

With a chance at an E8 ceiling but just as likely to flame in Rd 32 w a bad shooting night in a team full on non shooters

Just really hope J Robinson is not your best player. I like the basketball talk here and definitly not trying to compare schools.
I have probably seen 10x more J Rob games than you fellas have.

I don't think Arkansas will shoot it as well as we did last year, however I have no doubt that they will be physically tougher than we have been the last few years. Cal's best teams were defensive minded and physical and average shooting teams. However that garbage we rolled out the last few years defensively is what has gotten us beat. I expect Cal to go back to what made him a HOF coach.

You guys are the ones who wanted Cal gone and now that he's gone you can't shut up about him but you expect people not to suspect that's because somewhere within you you know you were better off with him in Lexington than you are now with him in Fayetteville.
That’s one hell of a run on sentence. And there isn’t a UK fan with functioning brain who thinks UK would be better off if that fat tub of lard was still in Lexington.

So is WWW returning as a “friend “ of the program?

I don’t see the defensive prowess in that roster. Ivisic is horrible defensively and there will definitely be a logjam of Arkansas backcourt players trying to get their points.

Nah, he got caught up in the FBI sting. Oh wait, that was Bill Self, Bruce Pearl, Rick Pitino, and few other favorites on here. Worldwide Wes tho.

I guess the haters were right since this fanbase are the haters now, we had the dirtiest program around for the last 15 years. 🤡

No one said we were dirty . But there’s a reason Cal stopped getting the truly elite players as soon as WWW decided to focus on the nba .

You do know this is not the Jaxson Robinson that only played 16 games at Ark as a Soph right? Um since then he's played 2 years at BYU under this same system our new coach is putting in. Won the big 12 6th man of the year and was basically the best player at BYU last year. He was right on the borderline of getting drafted in the NBA this year but did come back to school. Most recently he scored around 40 points with around 10 3's made against a team made up of a bunch of NBA veterans just last week. He has improved vastly since he played at ARK imo and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he leads us in scoring this year and get drafted. Also might wanna consider we have 8 other really good xfers and 3 frosh that came with Robinson this year. All of them have had success at the D1 level and HS. Pope has never had a team that relied on one player scoring a bunch of points to be successful. It's a team built on playing 10 plus players with lots of x and o work being involved. Pope now has the personal to go with his coaching plans. So no we are not in trouble if Robinson is our best player in the least bit.

I can tell you haven’t seen him play since he was a freshman.

Arkansas is a shit program why are you here? We threw cals garbage ass out the door and he landed at ark by mistake not choice. Get ready for middle school coaching, if that. Can’t wait to see him burn you up on the way out either. You’re desperate,
Come back when Robinson drops 25 in Calipari.
Agree with this, couldn't have worked out better. Hogs saved us a ton of money and cal got his hand caught in the cookie jar.

I am well aware this is an older J Rob. But stand by what i said, if he is your best player you are in trouble and I dont believe he is or will be.

Being real that's a level above our roster. It just is. I appreciate Pope an I'm gaining faith in him an I he got together a crazy roster from scratch an worked hard.

The roster listed above is just is just loaded everywhere with A level talent. I still wouldn't want 20- 24 Cal to return tho

22-12 like the experienced 2022-23 team, 1st weekend flameout. That was an experienced team with the Seniors Oscar, Wheeler, Fredrick, Toppin and Reeves who was the only decent shooter for UK while coming off the bench for all but 14 games. Cal can assemble a roster full of talent but can't coach them up worth a damn.

Ok I tried. Jaxson like you said might not be the best player on the team but I'd almost bet he leads us in scoring and that's what coach brought him here to do shoot the ball and slash. He's got the green light to shoot anytime anywhere if the scrimmage is any indication. Garrison, Carr or Oweh could very well get more rebounds, assists, blocks and steals but I'd say Robinson scores more points than them most nights. The thing is I don't really care who does what or who's better at what as long as the team is good and I'm sure they will be. Make no mistake about Robinson is going to have a lot of 20 plus point game's and probably a few in the 30s. Just remember you heard it here first.

It is ok if ya wanna come over here and talk to us when your current coach let's Wagner jack up 3's and pulls Davis for something stupid. Loses to a directional state school this year. Has a player or 2 not playing and you have no idea why and your rotation goes down to 7 for a few weeks during the season. He plays a few players out of position rendering them ineffective. We've seen it for years and just remember what we all said it will happen he's not suddenly gonna change just because he changed his address.

Calipari would have done the exact same thing he always does. That team is still young and lacks outside shooting. He is still one of the worst floor coaches in the SEC. He has a terrible coaching staff and that wouldn’t have changed either. Chin is terrible, Payne is terrible, and Orlando is nothing but a recruiter because recruiting is all Calipari cares about.

You’d be looking at a 4-8 seed and a 1st or second round exit more then likely.
Orlando is at Illinois.

I understand what you are saying and we hope Cal as changed his approach as it appears he has and said he was going to.
This is not a young team Cal will be relying on or not as young has he relyed on at KY. Time will tell and look forward to the discussions.
We have alot of players that have alot of time played in college.

Let's see you(Ark) have a combined 367 games played with 191 starts. Plus two players who averaged double figures in scoring in Davis 18.2 and Aidoo 11.4 last year.

Let's compare that to us(UK). We have a combined 845 games played with 586 games started. Plus seven players who averaged double figures in scoring Almoror 16.4 Robinson 14.2 Carr 13.5 Williams 13.7 Oweh 11.4 Brea 11.1 and Kriisa 11.0 last season.

I believe we trump you in a lot of players that played a lot in college. Just saying.

Go back and watch the ‘23 team to see what Cal did with experienced players. Six Seniors in the rotation, including the reigning NPOY. First week exit.

Young players or old players, it does not matter.

With Cal, it’s about coaching.

It’s the X’s and O’s, not the Jimmy’s and Joe’s, as they say.

Y’all got the players, but can your coach coach them?

That is the question.

If 2010-2015 Cal makes a miraculous return, then maybe you have a shot at a deep run.

Yup, barely won any games, all you had to do was zone. I mean he has a higher winning percentage than Joe B Hall but yeah.
Do the voices in your head demand that you create a new account every two days or is that just the natural residual effect of Grandma's "brought to the basement door and left there during video game time" meatloaf being too dry again?

Minus Travon Brazile, of course. What would Cal have done with an experienced roster at Kentucky?

C - Quaintance - Aidoo
F - Big Z - Thiero
G - Davis - Knox
G - Wagner - Richmond - Perry
G - Fland - Wagner - Perry

That would have likely been the makeup of the Kentucky roster had Cal stayed.

Not gonna lie. That's a ton of talent. All five starters have draft potential, and Fland, Z, and Quaintance will probably be first round picks.

Thoughts?
Quaintance would be a fitst rounder ig he had gone to Morehead

That's so obviously not true it has the opposite of your intended effect. No one is going to take you seriously because it's obvious you're just talking out of your ass. And I HATE you guys for making the Hog fans on this forum the voices of reason. Screw the Hogs.

Thanks but just like some bball talk and honestly i dont to come as a troll. And I 100 percent get where you guys are coming from with Cal. Will be fun to watch it unfold.

I don't think smallmouth understands the he and butthole are on the same team. He hates us bro.
