Don't look now, but Arkansas is averaging 69 ppg through their first three games.

Their starting shooting guard is currently 0% from three with over 100 minutes played. Not ideal but if he was someone who was elite at attacking and getting to the line it'd maybe be salvageable. Not the case as he's only got 1 total attempt.

Hard for a team to score points when that's what you're working with
Cal is the king of tearing players down and not building them back up.

As someone mentioned earlier i can totally understand the UK fan making comparisons to the long standing coach we lost (to a conference foe and old school rival) & the UK staff/team we currently have

Its a legitimate point of reference and ongoing stream of data that relates to some pretty big off season decisions

I don't think ppl will remain as fixated after this season - but the sideways glances at Arkansas as this season unfolds is totally understandable IMO

looks like Cal sees trouble on the horizon and is looking to turn Big Z loose as opposed to his "he isn't shooting 3's this season" to fend off the wolves at his door

Why is nobody showing up to the games?

That's not normally the way it is in Arkansas. What the ****?

I mean they got their new coach and all the five star players and nobody's there?

I'm puzzled on this one.
Strange.
Does seem like it's too early for Cal to have already sapped the life-blood from the program? Took a good 6/7 yrs for him to suck all the passion from BBN...guess we're of heartier stock

I can’t believe Wagner is so invisible on the court. I know he’s better than he’s playing now. Cal is ruining that poor kid. Obviously he was over rated. And a little small considered his game relies on driving and not overly athletic but I know he can be better than he has been. He is invisible for them.
I have never been a Wagner fan........he has a A list name and a C list game..........

If they played any team remotely decent, like a top 75 style team they would have lost. Troy could barely hold onto the ball, Let alone run any offense for a good look. They scored on open layups and dunks the whole game and couldn’t shoot a lick.
Yeah, I watched part of the 1st half; Troy didn't look any better than the teams we were playing in our exhibitions games.

to be fair, that was before the game, within a few minutes the arena when the camera's panned around while the game was going I'd say it was 80% filled.

But with that level of talent in the coaches first year , that place should be packed unless they've already been brainwashed that the regular season doesnt matter, only march lol

That was 2 minutes before tip off.

Geez, in 37 minutes, Wagner had 0 points, on 0/4 shooting (0/2 from 3). He’s looking like a four year guy who should come off the bench.

It will be great when Knox leaves after accomplishing absolutely nothing.

I actually really liked DJ so I hate this for him. He was getting development with Welch on the staff last season and now that’s gone.

That is exactly what it is. I think they are in danger of missing the tournament. It reminds me of Cals covid team. Some talent yes but just not a good mix of guys.

CCC should just pack it in and go home. The writing is on the wall if that many people aren't on board this early with Arkansas. Instead, he will do what he does best and just steal money living off past glory. The game has passed him by, and the joke is on Arkansas thinking he was their savior.

I actually like Arkansas fans and always respected their basketball program

I thought / assumed Cal would rediscover passion and a drive once he had new surroundings but --- he may actually be regressing?

I genuinely feel bad for what's unfolding before them
I actually had an Arkansas fan tell me that taking Cal was them getting even for us taking Goodwin and Monk . I said………..OK……?

Especially considering over half their team played or was committed to play here . It’s only natural.

“Home run hire”
Arkansas fans are a funny bunch. Some of the crap Cal pulls and things he says will not fly with those folks. There is a significant portion of that fanbase that will not put up with Cal's little tantrums or his non-answers, sending out an assistant for postgames after losses. The entire attitude Cal carries doesn't work with that group very well. I guarantee you many of them do not like him being from the northeast in their minds, being a yankee. Now, winning cures all ills, but it won't take long for that fanbase to be done with him if things aren't going well.

What really burns my biscuits is UK fans were all over the NCAA about letting big Z play. UK fans paid for that billboard right outside NCAA headquarters saying Free Big Z and that's the thanks we get?

He really thinks Cal is gonna get em to the league. If the kid makes it, it'll be in spite of Cal. He's horrid with finesse bigs.

Yep. I was surprised he went somewhere where they care about hoops so deeply. They’re already asking questions. Can’t see him turning it around.

Cal is a cancer that leaves every school he's at in terrible shape. He only succeeded at UK because he was finally able to get the best of the best recruits. With what we had, we should have had 3 titles. I didn't listen to the fans at UMass and Memphis, and the Hog fans aren't going to listen to us. Unfortunately, they will learn the hard way.

They all have/had Stockholm Syndrome. I'll bet some even stopped being UK fans when he left and went out and bought some red Arkansas gear. It's amazing how brainwashed some people were.
Most of them were likely just very conservative, don't like change, afraid of what's on the other side kind of people. Many we saw here voiced exactly that - they knew it was time for him to go, but worried about the outcome and would we just be better off living through it vs. having a possible 2-3 year serious down time.

The rest were just trolls from other fan bases or the Rivals bots designed to keep people fired up and fighting (and returning to see ads).

I'd say a very small percentage were dumb enough/brainwashed to truly believe Calipari was the real deal and should never leave.

This is just based on logical deductions from my many hours on this site over the last several years.
