Marrow sounded terrible right from the jump. When asked about the UL rumors, all he could muster was something to the effect that he wouldn’t even entertain the question and “he’s here”. Translation: he flirted with UL to see what kind of money he could get. Guaranteed. He then bumbled and fumbled over every question thereafter. He’s usually a better hype-man than what he just showed. That was a horrible PR idea.

The line that stood out to me was his saying "It's one bad season." That's missing the forest through the trees. You had a losing record after two disappointing 7-5 years. You should have won 8-9 games in 2022 and 2023. You haven't won a bowl game in over 3 years. The slippage is there. Even Drew said it didn't inspire him at all.

I haven't listed to the show from today but Matt was very critical of Stoops and the staff in his postgame show. I am one to criticize Matt when warranted but he hasn't been overly supportive of the football staff this season.

I don't know what some of you all expect from Matt. He pretty much summed up the state of the program after Saturday's game and pulled no punches. If you want him to name call, act a fool and burn every bridge to UK, he's not going to do that. He gave Vince a chance to talk today and from the sounds of it (I haven't listened yet) but the consensus on the boards seems to be that Vince was not nearly the confident guy he usually is and tried to downplay how bad the performance was. The fans can see how bad it looks but you can't say we didn't hear the coaches side.

I can't fathom how bad it's going to be next year. And make no mistake it's going to be historically bad. You think they can replace so many players and compete in the SEC. How in the world do they think they can hold this sinking ship together through another embarrassing season if they can't do it now.

What will happen is, they will do everything at the end of next season that they should be doing now. Costing us time and effort that should be spent with a new coaching staff.

Stoops is gonna get his $44M, it's just UK being luck enough for some other desperate team to pay half of it.

The buyouts ADs have given do make it almost impossible to fire a coach now. Florida St, Florida, LSU, Auburn would all move on from their current coach but are stuck with too high of a buyout.
Only A&M has boosters that will pay those.
The schools won’t pay that. It’s up to the boosters. A&M ponied Up.
There is gonna be a lot less turnover for a while. ADs have made it impossible to move on from a bad hire.

MJ pretty much ripped Stoops, his staff choices picking his "buddies" and the players on the post game show. I like working with my friends too, but if you're getting paid $9M your friends better be able to deliver the goods or else. Friendships aside, you gotta go if you're not handling your part.

Stoops has the same problem CCC has. They want to play the game the same way they've always done it, and it's no longer as effective as it used to be. Even Saban adjusted and went out and got great OCs that were great player callers and schemers.

I remember being excited when Stoops brought Gran on to be the OC. I had watched quite a few of the UC games when Gran was the HC and their offense was really good and fun to watch. The Gran offense at UK NEVER remotely looked like what he did at UC. So one of two things happened IMO, Gran never got the players at UK to run that offense or Stoops held Gran back. I don't care what Stoops said, I believe he held back Gran's offense.

It certainly looks like Stoops has dug his heels in and isn't going anywhere. That being said he needs big time staff changes. There's not one area of the team offense, defense or special teams that improved last season. So go get the best staff you can and leave them alone to do their jobs.

Many are saying UK can’t afford to move on from Coach Stoops. The truth is that we can’t afford NOT to move on.

The consequences of keeping Stoops, a coach other power 4 fan bases have literally revolted at the though of having him coach their teams, will be far more costly for far longer than paying the remainder of his contract.

Missing the opportunity to bring John Sumrall home will set the program back for a decade of irrelevance.

NIL giving will completely dry up. The downward trajectory of this program is evident to everyone.

We are already losing recruits. We had a lot of talent this year that was completely wasted by the undisciplined and unfocused coaching staff. Players see what the fans see.

Just like it was time to move on from Cal, NOW is the time to move on from Stoops and save our football program.

Here is the problems with Matt Jones/KSR

1. Matt was insufferable kissing Cal's rear end. His crap of "Nobody but Cal is who I want" as late as 2022. Then it's "Cal ain't going anywhere"...due to buyout. Then we see what luckily transpired by Cal going to Arkansas.
2. So now we are nearly replicating the same thing on football side....a terrible season and a contract that pays Stoops to 2030 $9M a year.

So Mitch is totally out of control with these insane contracts. I can live with paying top dollar-ish...but the length of these deals are basically one sided to the coach vs. the school

Matt Jones/KSR can rah-rah it up all they want. 4 wins and many terrible showings in losses....now the domino effect of losing recruits in year 12 of Stoops....adn now in todays NIL world/portal....the funds to buy a team will start to erode and it snowballs essentially.

I don't know how you can truly stick with Stoops.....and Mitch needs to go by the way. He cant' live off Pope, early Cal, early Stoops, and his olympic sports fettish. His contracts have truly stiffled the athletic dept.
