We know UK told you to try to pump up the fans about another year of the same Stoops trash.

Marrow sounded terrible right from the jump. When asked about the UL rumors, all he could muster was something to the effect that he wouldn’t even entertain the question and “he’s here”. Translation: he flirted with UL to see what kind of money he could get. Guaranteed. He then bumbled and fumbled over every question thereafter. He’s usually a better hype-man than what he just showed. That was a horrible PR idea.

The line that stood out to me was his saying "It's one bad season." That's missing the forest through the trees. You had a losing record after two disappointing 7-5 years. You should have won 8-9 games in 2022 and 2023. You haven't won a bowl game in over 3 years. The slippage is there. Even Drew said it didn't inspire him at all.

I haven't listed to the show from today but Matt was very critical of Stoops and the staff in his postgame show. I am one to criticize Matt when warranted but he hasn't been overly supportive of the football staff this season.

I don't know what some of you all expect from Matt. He pretty much summed up the state of the program after Saturday's game and pulled no punches. If you want him to name call, act a fool and burn every bridge to UK, he's not going to do that. He gave Vince a chance to talk today and from the sounds of it (I haven't listened yet) but the consensus on the boards seems to be that Vince was not nearly the confident guy he usually is and tried to downplay how bad the performance was. The fans can see how bad it looks but you can't say we didn't hear the coaches side.

Heard Jones post game comments, thought he was pretty open and on point, hardly rah-rah. Think some here want blood, probably lost a pretty good chunk gambling on games I'd say.

Not to mention that he changed his tone last week when he heard from UK that Stoops would be back. He 100% tried to cheerlead for them (and did a terrible job).

I can't fathom how bad it's going to be next year. And make no mistake it's going to be historically bad. You think they can replace so many players and compete in the SEC. How in the world do they think they can hold this sinking ship together through another embarrassing season if they can't do it now.

What will happen is, they will do everything at the end of next season that they should be doing now. Costing us time and effort that should be spent with a new coaching staff.

My take...If you listened to the season wrap up/opening segment of the UL post game show, then you listened to Vince's interview this morning...you know Matt Jones isn't a bagman for UK. That's just asinine to think it as some have suggested. Matt is a SUPER smart guy. He's built one helluva company and listenership. How about this take? Matt gave Vince the platform, in part, obviously because they're buddies but also in part because he knows THIS is what we're stuck with. He was the exact same way after the Barney/Cal interview thing. I also think there's something to Matt giving Vince the platform to show just how awful the situation is. We all know where this is headed, and as long as no other school rescues UK by hiring Stoops this is what we're stuck with.

If the stars aligned...and you rolled sevens...A Purdue-type gets super desperate, pays Stoops $5M while UK also negotiates the balance of his contract via a buyout. They then hire Sumrall for roughly the same as the negotiated buyout. That's about the only prayer of this changing. Stoops is gonna get his $44M, it's just UK being luck enough for some other desperate team to pay half of it.
