Why Is UK Possibly Dead Last in Collective Money in SEC For Football Recruits?

How do we know how much NIL money is available for UK or any other school since these are private deals? What was the source where this info was published or was it?

IMO there is no way to measure the amount of NIL money available since one ever knows what business or private entity might negotiate a deal of any magnitude large or small tomorrow or the next day.

The GDP of the state of Kentucky is $260 Billion that ranks 6th in the SEC right next to Alabama and South Carolina, which busts that myth that Kentucky is one of the poorest SEC states. If Kentucky businesses and individuals spent say $5 Million a year on NIL deals that would equate to .0000192% of GDP. Anyone that thinks Kentucky is incapable if being competitive, if not a leader in NIL money is simply not aware of the facts.

Also the AD has no say so in the amount of money available as that does not come from UK.
Very true. No database that tells anybody anything. But the coaches know. Can you imagine trying to keep up with all this? Stoops and staff are doing a terrific job.

Just saw where Auburn has 13 million dollars in collective money for football recruits and same article on KSR said UK’s collective money was far, far less than other SEC schools.
I for one am done with the Miss Goodie Two Shoes of our AD Barnhart. Yes, he has built up the non revenue sports but at what price. We are one of 4 SEC among the 14 who does not allow alcohol for all fans while allowing it in the suites. What a double standard.
UK’s(Barnhart). stance on providing critical NIL money is putting UK far behind other SEC football schools whose tradition already surpassed UK’s and put us at a recruiting disadvantage. Times change and UK has to change with the times or be left behind. Our current football recruiting class only ranks in the mid forties nationally while others such as UT, Georgia, Bama and others are top 10. I say it’s time to get rid of Mitch and bring in a visionary. Football revenues are the lifeline of all SEC schools and we cannot afford to have a terrible NIL program for our recruiting needs and a school that won’t sell alcohol to the general fans missing out on another 2 million dollars per year.
Still laughing at “UK’s (Barnhart) stance on providing critical NIL money” as if schools fund NIL. This BS always comes from KSR and is always spread by KSR cronies to forward his narrative. They still don’t see the pattern.

Part of it is being a basketball school, but the Stoops/Barnhart era is more about stewardship and consistency than really taking a swing and I think that has an impact. Our coach and AD are committed to keeping the schedule as weak as possible and guaranteeing a bowl streak, to the point of using their veto powers within the league. Taking the next steps and becoming relevant in the East (or nationally) requires over the top money, going back to the well over and over again with some folks. Neither program seems particularly aspirational at the moment, but at least Cal has sold that before. I imagine the conversations with $$$ reflect Stoops/Mitch general approach to the program so it's harder to make that push.
