Guess got to have something to try to be positive about.People talk about potential on here all the time.Well,he's a candidate for thatPeople trying to build Burks into some stud is just sad.
Looks like another Dragon to me.Guess got to have something to try to be positive about.People talk about potential on here all the time.Well,he's a candidate for that
Maybe, but the so called experts who do this shit all day every day all say the same thing. They all can't be wrongHonestly until we see the teams in action you have no way of knowing this.
Won't be surprised if Burks ends up a big time player wherever he ends up and just a matter of when. Would love for it to be instantly, but if you have to wait 1/2 more yrs, it's worth bringing in now. Guys who can do guard things at 6'10 have higher upside, which attracted G-League already. He's a guy who is a potential steal and worth investing in IMO.Cal waited and now we are screwed. Those 3 star kids will bring nothing.
Khalil couldn’t shoot like this guy can, and this guy looks like he is more fluid in his movements with the ball, I could be wrong but Khalil was stiff as hell and couldn’t shootLooks like another Dragon to me.
From what I saw he couldn't shoot at all.Khalil couldn’t shoot like this guy can, and this guy looks like he is more fluid in his movements with the ball, I could be wrong but Khalil was stiff as hell and couldn’t shoot
My bad to keep commenting on everything you post, but I agree with everything your saying. But if you had to choose between jones or Kaluma who are you addingWon't be surprised if Burks ends up a big time player wherever he ends up and just a matter of when. Hart is an interesting player. Like what I've seen but know little of him. Like that he was a Big 12 recruit or someone Dawkins felt could help a team competing in Big 12.
The one thing you are looking for at this stage is material and while the Vets will be more of the must produce and they are still hoping to retain Reeves and add 1 or 2 vets---these are damn good guys to bring into the fold. Justin Edwards having to compete in practice against a 6'10 kid who can light it up--he led the OTE in scoring at 27 ppg. Big time college recruits/NBA prospects were littered in that league. This isn't some guy who played in a 1 stop sign town against 5'8 guys and dominated. He's got upside/talent. Now throw in the fact he's not seen as the "savior" or anything and it's a good addition this time of year.
Guess I'm not understanding the disappointment here. If people were saying these guys were instant All Americans who will dominant CBB....and no need to even look at older players...I understand but we're talking about good players who signed with respectable programs in Power Conferences or in case of Hart was moving to a Power Conference and are willing to compete and play a role.
What older players?Jones and Kaluma are all that's left and a center is what we really need.Won't be surprised if Burks ends up a big time player wherever he ends up and just a matter of when. Would love for it to be instantly, but if you have to wait 1/2 more yrs, it's worth bringing in now. Guys who can do guard things at 6'10 have higher upside, which attracted G-League already. He looked good to me, I’m as frustrated as everybody else but with hart/burks and the rest of the freshman we don’t know what they are they haven’t played yet. Those two are adds and Kentucky needs them for depth now they have to go get experienced portal players for sureFrom what I saw he couldn't shoot at all.
Nothing left.He looked good to me, I’m as frustrated as everybody else but with hart/burks and the rest of the freshman we don’t know what they are they haven’t played yet. Those two are adds and Kentucky needs them for depth now they have to go get experienced portal players for sure
Yeah we got to have depth. If this is what we get so be it.Calipari just gonna roll the ball out there anyway so does it really even freaking matter who we add.He looked good to me, I’m as frustrated as everybody else but with hart/burks and the rest of the freshman we don’t know what they are they haven’t played yet. Because guys like this don't stay around our program long enough for the "when" they are a big time player. I wish they did, but I could spend the better part of a night telling you names that didn't. And a handful that did. For every Shai Gilgous-Alexander, I can name you several Juzangs.Won't be surprised if Burks ends up a big time player wherever he ends up and just a matter of when. Guys like Wildcat 1987 don’t want anyone other than on paper 5 stars on our roster.Won't be surprised if Burks ends up a big time player wherever he ends up and just a matter of when. Because Cal won't utilize a depth piece. He just doesn't.Burks led OTE in scoring and outshined Dillingham most of the year.
3-star for him is criminally underrated but doesn't much matter.
Kid is a 6'10 wing shooter who would be willing to play spot minutes off the bench.
Some on here get so up and arms about us not using all of our scholarships, and then get so upset when we start using them to add depth pieces.
The only name I have heard is that headcase Miranda. So who is going to be our center besides Ugo?Is Cal even searching the trash pile for one?
Bradshaw will see some time there and there are a few options that are out there who have been mentioned that are young-may see a Grad Transfer targeted. Not a Portal guy but a guy who decides he wants to play another year and hasn't made it public yet.So who is going to be our center besides Ugo?Is Cal even searching the trash pile for one?

It won't be anyone very good I'm sure.If only he hadn't waited until the very last minute.Bradshaw will see some time there and there are a few options that are out there who have been mentioned that are young-may see a Grad Transfer targeted. We just gonna agree to disagree on Reeves,he's actually not a good college scorer,to inconsistent to be labeled that but again,I respect your opinion because we do need players and right now even tho I wish he'd just move on down the road,we may have no choice but to take him back.
Problem is Bradshaw is also the only 4 on the team right now but yeah I know Burks will be the 4 and a stud.Bradshaw will see some time there and there are a few options that are out there who have been mentioned that are young-may see a Grad Transfer targeted. Not a Portal guy but a guy who decides he wants to play another year and hasn't made it public yet.
I’d lean Kaluma as well. The bama guy I know says it’s them or Texas, have no idea if he is correct or notIf I had a choice, I'd go Kaluma. Nothing against David Jones at all, but I like the guy who came from winning program.
Kaluma or jones, can contribute they have problems but they have played major mins and will help if Kentucky can’t get themNothing left.

God forbid UK took some multi year developmental guys to be a core. And don’t even consider some instate or tri state 3 star locals. Get back into Chicago, NY and Cali, Get those one year mercenaries! That’s what wins for UK! Remember 2012. Still would have won without Ky’s Darius Miller… correct?
Juzang is a guy I know personal info about due to knowing a teacher at his school who knew he didn't want to go to Kentucky. If you remember they were pushing hard for Jaden McDaniels and then Justus pivoted and convinced Cal that Juzang would stick. Cal liked Juzang's game/talent but said he'd heard he didn't want to leave Pac 12/LA area. Justus assured him which to be fair--Juzang's dad wanted the "Blueblood" National hype more than Johnny. Juzang almost split at December that year and if you remember he came back from break and was sick as a dog to the point he had to be quarantined from team. (he had Covid btw) So Juzang was heading back to LA-UCLA the second season ended if they won a NC and he started. He didn't want to leave home. Remember Jemarl Baker? Think he's on his 5th school now. Maybe just his 4th.Because guys like this don't stay around our program long enough for the "when" they are a big time player. I wish they did, but I could spend the better part of a night telling you names that didn't. And a handful that did. For every Shai Gilgous-Alexander, I can name you several Juzangs.
Says he’s hearing more kaluma talk than JonesCan anyone speak to Graf's latest thread over at HOB? Posted about 40 mins ago.
Mentions something about Kaluma but I can't access it.

You're going off on a tangent. I'm telling you it doesn't matter if Cal signs a guy like that because he doesn't utilize them. And you can't in good conscience tell me that he does. I'll name you several guys who could have helped but never got PT. Hopkins, Juzang, Matthews. Just this last season Reeves didn't get much PT until Cal had to play him due to injury. Cal doesn't use depth. That's what I'm telling you. Can you deny that?So then who cares if we sign him or not? Why does it anger some so much?
If it's a kid that you don't think will see the floor anyways, then who cares??
You can play Edwards at the 4 spot if you wanted. Not ideal but he could do it if you had to slide Bradshaw to 5. That's where you prefer to get a Veteran too-that PF/Combo forward spot. Kaluma would be ideal here.Problem is Bradshaw is also the only 4 on the team right now but yeah I know Burks will be the 4 and a stud.
I agree 100%.Honestly at this point we just need players.Finding those who could help our needs like a center, power forward, point guard and shooter would be ideal but it's late in the game and we just got to get the best fits we can.
But why has he not contacted Olivier Nkamhoua or Tyrin Lawrence. Both have experience and been in the SEC wars.Just curious.A power forward and guard that could help....
Did he say anything about a visit?Says he’s hearing more kaluma talk than Jones
