Yeah but these 3 star guys will be great right?

Not sure the 3 stars that will probably end up 10th and 11th in rotation equate to starting an unathletic guy in the most athletic conference in America.

Just don't get the excitement for those guys. Not gonna help UK win the national title and aren't gonna help the schools they chose make a final four or win a title. Not saying they are awful but UK should be able to do better and that's on calipari.

Who else are we adding to make them the 10th and 11th guys?

But what choice do we have? I agree that there aren't a lot of options available and that's on Calipari for waiting on some drama kings but we have to have players on the roster.Burks and Hart may help us or may not but if they choose to come here then that's more than some others have given us.

I think it’s funny when people say 3 star guys won’t help Kentucky win a title……. Do yourself a favor search the rankings for Toppin, Nate Seatina, Reeves, and Wheeler coming out of High School….. hell everyone is begging for Reeves back and he wasn’t even ranked in High School. The point is rankings do not matter.

Did they do great in their freshmen years? No they were good by their second or third seasons.

What does that have to do with anything? Now we can’t recruit guys who will take a while to develop? It’s almost like you just want to fake outrage and will complain no matter what we do.
In case you haven't noticed this new thing called the portal that allows players to transfer without sitting out has doomed that hope.

Wash…rinse…repeat. We’ll get some guys, the pro-Cal guys will beat their chests and proclaim how great we’ll be. How deadly the new players will be. Then the season will start, UK will lose 8-10 games and go home in the first weekend. We went through the same thing last year with Reeves and CJ.

Cal is washed and no player is going to change that.

Yeah, and we will get players out of the portal and guess what, you will still complain. LOL at the portal all of the sudden being the end all be all. I guess when you have the #1 recruiting class and desperately need to outrage, that’s what you grasp onto. Y’all complain about 5 star players, y’all complain about 3 star players, when David Jones was brought up as a portal transfer, guess y’all did. Yup, complained.

These guys that put up 20ppg and 10reb played in shit conferences and we expect them to come to Kentucky and do that in the SEC. I think I’ll take my chances with 18 year old five star freshmen.

Kentucky “fan” mad about Kentucky signing players. This is what happens when your agenda comes first.

I am glad he is adding some of this type players for development since we have this new assistant coach. But we must have some older and experienced rotational players or we will be fighting to make the ncaa tourn at season's end.
I hope he helps kids develop because Cal sure hasn’t been able too.

FWIW, I get the excitement and allure around Kaluma as it seems he is an ideal replacement for Chris. However, I go to Creighton and having watched all their games, Cal will have to seriously drill into Art’s brain to know, accept, and play his role. Many at Creighton did not like Art’s game because he would tend to ball hog and think he could iso. He would do the same move everytime and kick it off of his leg. I believe Cal could get him to buy in, but something to be wary of. That said though, if he were able to, I think Art could be a serious (good) problem for opponents.

Additionally, someone mentioned that Art wasn’t that big for 6’7. I assure you he is. His build and frame may have been his biggest underlying strength. It allowed him to be helpful despite how his selfish tendencies disrupted the flow of Creighton’s offense.

What about the high schoolers who put up 20ppg and 10reb against kids who haven’t sprouted hair under their arms? Don’t we also expect them to come to Kentucky and do that in the SEC?

Rankings do matter with Cal. He is a coach who literally just rolls the ball out and expects his guys to "make a play." The transfers of the past couple of years could've been better in a more structured offense but not in Cal's stagnant, iso ball, AAU offense. They did not have the athleticism to beat their man on athleticism alone, which is the most importnat trait in Cal's 'offense.'

I do agree that Dilly, Shep and DJ are far superior athletically to what we've had the past several years but college ball has changed immensely in that time frame. We can't expect a bunch of freshmen newcomers to beat 23-24 year old grown ass men.

UK has had so many 5 star busts, the last thing to worry about is whether a 3 star will “be great”.
Everyone has had 5 star busts, I’ll take our track record with 5 stars over Duke, UNC, Kansas, Michigan State, and every other program in the country.
