The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

And as long as the Russian people allow him to rule them then they’re complicit in the horror happening in Ukraine.

So, should we be paying more than other members of NATO to meet this objective of seeing others crush the complicit people of Russia?

I love how those who will never pick up a gun speak so cavalierly about a war that will kill thousands upon thousands of other people’s children. It’s no longer about protecting the sovereignty of Ukraine, it is about bringing down a dictatorship and the people who support it.

This should be over soon.

Putin being charged internationally should not be underestimated. I think that is a strong indication that inside Russia they are close to moving on Putin. Internally with the power play against the Wagner group you can see that surge mounting against Putin. Putin would of course know that so his paranoia must be immense.

We can't overlook the Chinese, either. They may be grooming someone as well. The days and weeks after Putin will have enormous consequences globally. Putin would move towards China in a bid to survive but do the Chinese want him or someone else?

If China is successful in either Putin winning in Ukraine or grooming a Putin replacement then they are in great shape with the West split in Europe and Asia. If Putin falls and a more pro West Russia emerges then the full might of the West will be trained on the South China Sea.

Enormous implications for what happens in Ukraine. That's why the anti-Ukraine faction of the Republican Party is clearly out of its mind.

Dude, I linked an article, one of many reporting the same thing. Take off your partisan hat.
Your article mostly agreed with me, I'm not the partisan one. For that matter, how am I partisan on this issue? I'm a die hard conservative. I simply see beyond the headline.

My link had absolutely nothing to do with you, boss. You made this about you. Why? You may want to ponder that. And, partisanship does not only refer to conservative vs liberal.

It's also one thing to criticize a people for how they live from the comfort and ease of our society versus what happened to them witht he fall of communism and their failed transition to democracy, which Putin actually fixed.

You can't imagine what's it like to literally have your entire net worth zeroed overnight. One day, you're a respected membe of the community, a doctor or high rankingacedmice at the university or whatever: the next, you're driving a cab to make ends meet, standing in bread lines.

Putin is a child-stealing dictator. Business-as-usual with Russia cannot happen until he is gone. So the people of Russia will experience sanctions, too.

The children who are dying are Ukrainian and it is Putin’s soldiers who are killing them, in the children’s own sovereign country.

If someone came into your home and claimed it as his own, would you fight back or just offer up whatever it takes for them to let you continue to live there “peacefully?” What if he wants your children? Your wife?

There’s a modern four-letter word for a man who would do that - cuck. It’s a shortened form of cuckold, a husband who either likes to watch his wife with other men or is forced to watch.

If some dude slept with your wife, I'm not a cuck because I don't want to give you all my money so that you can fight off said dude who's sleeping with your wife.

If you’re arguing we should be sending support to our southern border to protect our house, rather than sending it to Ukraine to protect someone else’s, then we finally agree.

If not your analogy is beyond stupid.

Yeah, you haven’t used any analogy in your posts. Here’s your trophy (includes one for your mouth - you decide which is bigger),

While I agree with you that our open borders are the biggest threat to our nation, I stand by my analogy. The inference from you water carriers is that Zelensky should run for the hills and let the child-stealing/murderer Putin have what he wants. Obviously you are in the minority in this country and the world.

It’s the 21st century. We, as a civilization are hurtling towards the AI singularity and yet there are still people who lionize a demon like Putin because he reflects your warped values.

Your analogy is terrible. And it’s that lack of critical thinking that has you continuously falling back on accusations of Putin support, and relying on bots to write your posts.

No one said Zelensky should run for the hills. He should stay and fight if he wants. None of my business. Not my house. Not my neighborhood. Not even my state or country.

If the West did nothing in Ukraine, their full might could still be trained on China anyway, as it already was in January 2022. You say so many things that are contradictory to basic logic.

Simple case in point: if the West wanted Russia as an ally against China, wouldn’t they rightly conclude that it was worth a swath of Ukrainian territory? This is how balance of power has worked for centuries, after all. Hell, we handed Stalin all of Eastern Europe to get his support against Japan.

You evidently want us to believe that we must have regime change in Russia to secure Europe’s eastern flank in any possible war against China. This, after you have said for for WEEKS, that Russia is no match for NATO. Which is it, man?

And to gain the favor of Russian authoritarianism against China, we must depose the current despot (at great cost) and assume (for some unknown reason) that the NEXT despot will be pro-Western?

Just nonsense. Proceed with the usual name calling, but for Gods sake try to make sense.

You keep showing your ignorance. You can deny that we are committed to Ukraine until the cows come home but that doesn’t change the fact. A lie repeated often enough may convince you that we’re not obligated but it remains a lie to people who can actually think. I just don’t buy your libertarian shtick.

What the hell are you talking about. Of course we’re committed. There’s been over $100 billion of waste committed. We certainly aren’t obligated to do a goddam thing, especially if we aren’t even obligated to protect our own border.

Your analogy is still terrible.

Once again, two wrongs don’t make a right. The border problem should be our top priority but do you hear any leaders on the right making it their top priority?

I miss DJT’s admonitions about it. He knew and was doing something about it. If only he had been a bit more of a statesman he might still be in office and the wall construction might be nearing its finish.

But that’s separate from the Ukraine issue. If we don’t honor our commitments to help free and sovereign nations against demonic tyrants then we will lose our place at the top of the “food chain” of geopolitics.

I don’t regard this as a tough issue at all. A child-stealing dictator should be brought down by any means necessary. And as long as the Russian people allow him to rule them then they’re complicit in the horror happening in Ukraine.
Thanks for admitting you were the one chiding others for not accepting the nuance of big issues; however, no one lacks that in this thread more than you.

Nuance of big issues? You’re talking out your hee-haw. There’s no nuance to a full-scale invasion and the kidnapping and murder of children. Admit that you’re backing a perverted loser and move on with your life.

This is why no one here should take you seriously. You have to falsely accuse others to make your point. You are full of strawman arguments and false accusations. I hope it’s a joke, because it’s pathetic.

Oh, I think I get my point across clearly, since I only have one - Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a corrupt, maniacal, perverted piece of 💩 who should be sent to hell by the parents of one of the soldiers in this war, Ukrainian or Russian.

This is a mind-numbingly dumb position to take and you use it repeatedly. 1 does not require the other in any way.
It's not "required", but, if I was as hot about this thing as you obviously are, my philosophy would be to personally head over and fight the good fight. Obviously, I'm not in that position. I just can’t find it within myself to care that much, but I do care if an unholy alliance of neocons and Leftists egg on World War 3. Speaking of that alliance, how does it feel to be one with the woke?

You like wasting people's time.

With an expansionist Putin Russia there is no peace with Russia especially with Trump groveling at Putin's feet in Helsinki. Notice the vast difference in Putin's body language with Xi the last couple days as compared to his preening posture over Trump. It is telling. Ukraine is a valuable reset opportunity for Russia that rarely comes along. If they get rid of Putin and pick a more Western friendly leader (which they should unless they are patently foolish) then in a relatively short period of time they can be free of sanctions and participating on the world stage again like they squandered after Gorbachev. If they opt for increased ties with China then they're nothing but a Chinese gas station in a world looking to rapidly move away from oil - not exactly a very bright future and let's face it, the Russians hate the Chinese and look down on them. They certainly don't want to be subservient to them.

So in Ukraine we are finishing the Putin Russians and the Chinese playing their last card in the deck. Without a Russian threat in Europe the Chinese could never take Taiwan. Even now despite a gigantic Chinese naval buildup our 11 Carrier battle groups and fast attack submarines would make mince meat of the Chinese and they could never take Taiwan. They can blow it up, but they can't take it and have anything meaningfully left worth taking let alone holding.

So Ukraine, with a large part of the Republican Party trying to stand in the way, is the key to remaking Russia into a more Western nation and permanently rolling back Chinese ambitions in the South China Sea.

You go after Putin you’re going after Russia. From the top to the bottom. That’s right escalate escalate escalate with no end game or plan.

Thankfully before Trump dismantled the NATO alliance and handed Eastern Europe to Putin.

I want one condition on the new Russian Government that forms after Putin, I want them to open their books on Trump and Putin so we can see what falls out. That is a condition for any sanctions being lifted. I want to know everything.

Thank you for proving what this is all about. You hate Trump so much you are willing to go to war with Russia over Trump. Go seek psychiatric help.

No, I am not willing to look the other way while Putin marches into Eastern Europe and gives the green light to China on Taiwan while the West is in full appeasement mode.

Thankfully men like me exist to save us from weaklings like you.
