Again, are you rejecting that such people exist? If not, what is your issue?
I did mean troops. I don’t think Ukraine can win a conventional war against Russia without other countries intervening. I have seen nothing thus far to dissuade that conclusion.
Still waiting for an answer on examples - not holding my breath. No, I’ve never met anyone or heard anyone on tv that says “war is my hobby” or that it’s fun. But apparently they are all over the place.

When you spend more than you take in, every government action is a debt thread. It’s got to stop somewhere.
If somehow government spending was cut by many billions, we had a balanced budget, and we were actually paying down the principal, even slightly, I’d be far more inclined to support Ukraine spending. It’s just not happening.

Jack, I’m sure you know even if we told Ukraine to F off and stopped aid, it would not make one iota of difference (in terms of our balance sheet and percentage of GDP) in terms of substantively paying down our debt. Also, donating decades-old equipment to another country is cheaper than demiling it here. Not rocket science.
In order to reduce the debt, entitlements, shutting the border, and the welfare state have to be on the table. Otherwise, one is not really serious about paying it down. The Simpson-Bowles commission had some interesting ideas but the thieves in Washington shot down their recommendations.

That's a fair position. I dont know what to do about our debt at this point. With all the whores in our government things aren't likely to change.
The fed will just loan all our money back to us, for a few of course. Then probably add a printing press or two.
It's incredible how wasteful it all is and this Ukraine money pit is one of the worst of the lot
Mostly but because of poor spending decisions such as this. There are legitimate things the government should be spending money on. Unfortunately that's only probably 20% of their actual expenditure

Wouldn't it be fun for everyone for Russia to control the combined exports of Ukraine plus their own. Ah, what am I saying. They'd never hold the world hostage over food. Ukraine is important on its own and even more important to keep away from Russia.

A hobby? That doesn't even make sense. As for the tone of my posts this weekend, I apologize. I had a bad health weekend and I tend to be short fused and an ass when that happens. It isn't an excuse but it is a reality I'm learning to deal with.
