The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

LOL. Russia = great power & thus it's Ok for them to do whatever they want to independent countries. What total BS.

Wait, let me change that: United States = great power & thus it's Ok for them to do whatever they want to independent countries.

Welp there you go

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday indicated he was bracing for a long war in Ukraine, saying that Kyiv could use any ceasefire to rearm and that Washington would continue to see Russia as an enemy no matter who won the 2024 U.S. election.
Even Putin doesn't want to ''negotiate''

I thought we were supposed to ignore anything and everything Putin says about what the US/Ukraine do and how that impacts the war? Are you now falling for Putin propaganda?

Or are you now just realizing we need to take into account US and Ukrainian actions when evaluating this war, and it’s important to listen to the other side even if you disagree with his words and actions?

NATO membership, US backed revolutions, etc. actually do impact Putins decisions and we need to anticipate his reaction when weighing the costs and benefits of meddling in corrupt shitholes.

What, I thought he just wanted a little piece of Ukraine & everything would be fine. Hilarious appeasers.

Putin has always been clear that he doesn't care about ''peace''. He wants the USSR back. People like you have been screaming that we need to just write the damn treaty and be done with it. Why do you support Russian's invasion of a sovereign nation again? I bet you also think that map of NATO bases in places like China and Russia is real, lol.

Are you intentionally advocating for a never-ending war with this?

Make it make sense to us. If he’s saying he’d refuse a ceasefire, while Ukraine cannot realistically win without Western troops, what are you suggesting is the solution?

Let ukraine win the war? Why are you acting like America has boots on the ground or something?

Another anti war article but ill comment. If true and the Russians produce 7 times more artillery ammunition than the US and Europe combined than that’s sad and shows sanctions are shit. Joe Biden is a ****ing idiot.

Always good to be skeptical, and if you take a look at the NY Times articles from which the extraordinarily biased antiwar site sourced its info and quotes, it's much more measured:

"American and Western officials say there is some good news. Russian production is still not keeping pace with how fast the military is burning through ammunition and wearing out equipment. For example, even though Russia is on pace to produce two million rounds of ammunition a year, it fired about 10 million rounds of artillery last year. That has led Moscow to desperately search for alternative sources to increase its stocks, most recently by trying to secure a weapons deal with North Korea, U.S. and Western officials said.

And although Moscow has been successful in smuggling processors and circuit boards, it is facing a shortage of rocket propellant and basic explosives, American officials said, material that can be harder to smuggle than circuit boards. Those shortages are likely to constrain Moscow if it tries to step up further production of ammunition, missile or bomb.

Russia’s increased military production has also come at a great cost to the Russian economy, particularly as interest rates spike in the country. Sanctions have taken a toll on the Russian economy’s overall health, and overcoming Western export bans has not come cheaply, said American and Western officials. The senior Western defense official said that Russia had reallocated nearly a third of its commercial economy toward arms production. The country faces a labor shortage that could make further industrial gains harder to achieve too."

Further, if Russia weren't having military supply problems, why would Putin go begging on his knees to Kim Jong M'fing Un for ammo? It's embarrassing, really. Begging an international pariah state for help.

This is a curious non-answer. Your solution is to let Ukraine win the war?

I just told you that based on Putin’s statement as well as the stalemate on the ground, there’s practically no hope of Ukraine retaking their territory. So again, what is the end game here for those that support this war? Can you answer that?

Ukraine has retaken 55 percent of their territory since feb 24th, 2022. But sure. NO HOPE. Lol

No hope of retaking territory 😆😆

Russia’s 72nd Brigade was just annihilated in Andryivka this week, another town that has been taken back.

Didn’t the US government admit it was funding biolabs in the Ukraine?
Yeah they admitted they were researching diseases and pathogens but not making chemical bombs to be used against Russia. Hell, Russian scientists even visited them.
Russian scientists have visited the Ukrainian laboratories in the past to discuss scientific and public-health work with no mention of anything Russian officials alleged. The United States provides biosafety, disease surveillance, and biosecurity assistance to more than 30 countries (PDF) in Africa; Eastern Europe; South, Central and Southeast Asia; and the Middle East (PDF).

The United States discloses (PDF) to state parties to the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention the type of assistance it provides to countries in accordance with the agreement's Article X (PDF) provision, which calls for “cooperation … with other states or international organizations to the further development and application of scientific discoveries in the field of bacteriology (biology) for the prevention of disease, or for other peaceful purposes.”

Who said they were making chemical bombs to be used against Russia. I’m more concerned about the gain of function research like they were doing in Wuhan.

You mocked people who thought the US was funding biolabs in Ukraine. They US government admitted they were (probably are).

Yes biolabs in the context of making BIOWEAPONS not researching pathogens, lmfao. That's like saying a hospital is actually making robotic cyborg humans who will take the place of normal human soldiers or someshit.

These guys swore up and down that Covid came from an animal. Until it didn’t. The lack of skepticism they have is scary.

LOL. No I didn't I was against Covid from day one. I knew it was BS. There's being a skeptic and then there's being a dumbass. Far-right individuals are just as nauseating as the far left.

Maybe if you had a lens for spending that wasn’t “social programs”, you’d understand those attitudes better. Sealing off the border is an example.

Some swore up and down that Trump was involved in Ukraine Quid Pro Quo and Biden was not even though we have proof to the contrary on both.

Trying to call me a leftist now. That's a good sheep. Defend your party from the bad party.

In 10 weeks the Germans had been driven from Normandy through France. You’re telling us that Ukraine is winning one town at a time?

Maybe Russia will completely collapse and all territories will be regained. But reality says otherwise.

And did you believe in the "Ghost of Kiev" too?

Or when the superhero ripped off his green t shirt to reveal his superhero costume of a green t shirt and totally off the cuff and definitely not crafted by a PR firm said “I don’t need a ride I need ammunition?”

Didn’t the US government admit it was funding biolabs in the Ukraine?

Ah, yes. The "Whataboutism Game." The last resort of those who can't make valid arguments to support their position.

I'll play, just for a bit. Fauci was an obfuscatory POS, and the most likely origin was a lab leak in China. Now, can we get back on topic?

If we could just vote out Biden and vote in our guy this time it'll be different....
If we could just vote out RFKJR, Trump, Desantis etc and vote our guy in this time it'll be different....
Rinse, repeat with these guys.

unfortunately, reality has been saying otherwise for about a year and a half now. Talk on here was that Russia could not sustain the war for 3 months when it started. Then we needed to send more money because they were almost defeated and it would only be a few more months. Then, we were told after that did not happen that we just needed to send more money because we were almost there for sure this time. Then...you get the picture.

Yes. The topic is how and when Ukraine is going drive Russia out of Ukraine without a massive Western escalation.

The picture is Ukraine has re-taken 55 percent of its captured territory, saved Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv. Russia has lost north of 4,500 tanks, 250,000 men, Lost a submarine, a few ships to a country with no navy, had a PMC group march on their capital, went to North Korea to get weapons. But sure.
