It does negate your "premise" completely. You simply don't understand why.

Show me an image taken from the highest optical observatory on earth - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Tokyo_Atacama_Observatory

If the earth is flat, this observatory would be able to return an unobstructed view west across the Pacific to Australia, north to the Chicago skyline or east to Madagascar (because it is powerful enough to do so). And yet, it is unable to do so. Do you know why it is unable to do so? (It's because the earth is a sphere)

No, it is because the air is a medium and it eventually obscures the visual plane. I posted a video about the density of the air and how this effects our visual perception, you should check it out.

Flat Earthers may be the low point of 21st century nonviolent civilized society. Even worse than anti-vaxers, and chemtrail losers. When presented with actual scientific evidence, they scream conspiracy, photoshops and lies. When presented with nonscientific evidence that appeals to what they want to believe is true, they have blind faith that their "source" is true.

Uneducated Billy Joe FlatEarth puts up a youtube video filmed from his garage, and people take it as gospel. Every credible scientist in the world gives a thousand scientifically proven reasons the Earth is round, along with hundreds of thousands of pictures and video, and Billy Joe FlatEarth's followers flatly dismiss it by shouting conspiracy theory, lies, photoshop.

It's honestly amazing people can be so stupid.
The Earth is clearly not flat but you're just as fos as the op. I bet ten years ago or less you would've said that people who claim the CIA or government can spy on you through a smartphone or tv were tinfoil whack jobs, even though now we know that there were people in the conspiracy communities who were right about that. Lumping flat earthers with vaccines, chemtrails or anything else is retarded.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this flat Earth junk was a government psyop. Trolls starting this stuff everywhere on the internet.

K.

Actually, as I said, the flat earthers are worse. But yet, they absolutely should be lumped in with the anti-vax and chemtrail morons. Both of which should be classified as subsets of human beings, not worth being considered a part of our society.

As far as spying, that's pretty obvious that isn't a conspiracy theory and has nothing to do with the other three absolutely ludicrous things I referenced. Using electronic devices connected to the internet to spy on people is far and away more plausible than the GD EARTH BEING FLAT, that the government uses pesticides dropped from commercial airliners to control the minds of the population, and believing vaccinations cause autism when the GD guy who came up with the theory already admitted he made the entire thing up.

Also, FYI if you think 9/11 was an inside job please go jump off the nearest building.

If people possessed even the tiniest ability to use critical thinking skills, they'd pretty easily be able to distinguish between absolute horseshit conspiracy theories and real threats.

Is it a good troll job? He's trolling, but he's shitty at it.

A good troll job is a first post and then egging on others in short fashion...this guy has spent way too much time and energy with replies, videos, etc.

Real talent riles people up with minimal effort.

Why are you so on the fence about garlic bread? Just "in favor"? What kind of BS is that? I expect more from a respected scientician

I expected more from you Transy, you're dropping down the the level of 'Z', so sad. You could at least come up with a list of scientific organizations that agree that the earth is round.

The Russians spent over a decade trying to see how far you can dig, they got stuck at 12 km. No matter how long or how hard they tried they could go no further so the finally gave up.
The Kola Superdeep Borehole? Is that what you are talking about? Yeah, they didn't stop because you couldn't go any deeper. They stopped because the drill was getting into temps close to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Going to 15,000 meters would have presented temperatures over 500 degrees and would have melted the bit and made the drill inoperable.

Speaking of heat from Earth's core, how do you explain volcanoes and the clear presence of a liquid mantle because of it?

Well it could be a sphere in space and obey all the laws of physics as we understand them and all the points made consistent with that benefit the likelihood it's true...or

A sky magician could make sound stars that vibrate water and we're all being held up by elephants on a tree on a turtle and shit.

You still have no idea WHAT gravity is and I can explain the effects attributed to gravity, here on terra firma, much better with the concepts of weight, density and buoyancy. How does a bumblebee fly again?

I don't care why they stopped it only matters that they couldn't go any deeper. The assumption that we have an iron core is just that, an ASSUMPTION. It's not science because it cannot be observed directly.

I watched it and he doesn't offer a cogent explanation. You'll have to produce something better, with calculations, showing how the "ether" and sun/moon electromagnetic fields explain the motion.

I guess you didn't watch it, or you didn't understand what it was saying then.

The fact that the focault pendulums have been witnessed to act counter to expectations during eclipses is a pretty good indicator, I mean they've reversed course for crying out loud. Now this doesn't prove my claim but it damn sure puts a damper on yours.

Those are small anomalies, not they've reversed course for crying out loud.

Additionally, they are difficult to reproduce because they require an eclipse and more often than not are failed to reproduce when they are tested. An anomaly doesn't mean anything vis a vis the rotation of the earth anyway.

LOL you said NEVER, and now gloss over that fact by saying that they were small anomalies. You're funny.

In the future, I'll be sure to be more clear with you.

The crux of your point was that there was wildly divergent results in experimentation. That has NEVER happened, yes, NEVER.

The fact that they are effected by an eclipse at all should make you pause at least a little. In your world does the earth stop spinning during an eclipse. PS you need to look at the above video about the Michelson-Morley and Airy's experiments. The earth doesn't spin my friend, it isn't even a sphere.

You got 'em, Bill.

Just like those "scientists" that keep tweaking and changing their hypothesis' and theories when more evidence is discovered.

Ain't no room for wishy-washy, namby-pamby, eggheads that'll flip flop their beliefs just 'cause new information comes to light.

That is my point. Technology has advanced to the point where just about any Billy Joe Wildcat can go by sophisticated cameras/telescopes/binoculars that can be used to prove that you can see beyond what the horizon is supposed to be. Laser tests can be performed, cameras can be sent by amateur scientists into the clouds on balloons to take pictures for themselves to study. We no longer have to rely on others to do our scientific research for us and with these advancements the results are showing us that the earth is not round it's flat, period.

Yep, yep, yep.

So, when we gonna buy this equipment?

I'm gettin' excited!!

I don't have a case. I'm legitimately curious, if the world is flat then what's on the other side?
