Not for sure about Hawkins, but I think WCS played football in HS.

He did play in HS but it's not really that, it's his size, strength and ridiculous athleticism the NFL is interested in. He would be just about the ideal DB. If he's not gonna make multi-millions in the NBA, why not see if he wants to try something else.

The Los Angeles Lakers weren’t the only team scouting Dominique Hawkins today. Hawkins’ high school coach, Allen Feldhaus Jr., told The Courier-Journal that the Dallas Cowboys were at the Lakers’ facility in Segundo, California to watch Hawkins do work.
