I think there is a correlation between the revelation the last few games that we need sharpe now and this news tbh. I think sharpe plays and goes pro. We are thin at guard since Allen is a non factor. Grady is a great shooter but has trouble getting to the basket. We need a slasher type a guy who is a swing player. Sharpe at 6’6” fits the mold. He’s probably gonna play soon maybe Saturday even depending on Grady
I don’t think he plays if we have 4 guards break their ankles in the same game. Someone talked about a permission slip. Cal probably signed an agreement that he wouldn’t play Sharpe if he came here.

If he doesn’t play then what he’s doing and what Cal has done is wrong to the program, fanbase, NIL money, boosters, etc

it’s not okay. Some of you act like Cal can’t do any wrong and whatever he spoon feeds us should be treated like nectar from the gods
Amen. This is bullshit, and the fact that some of you are defending it is mindblowing.

I was thinking more of his handlers. They might prefer his flaws not be exposed so he goes top pick.Look at Bates and Duren.

I could see it both ways. He could also help his stock if he plays well. But yeah maybe he has more to lose by playing than gain. It's possible.

If Sharpe isn't going to play, he shouldn't be on the bench. Period. He shouldn't be allowed to secure NIL deals as a University of Kentucky athlete, he shouldn't be allowed to travel with the team. We're getting nothing out of him being here and he's getting everything. Fuhk that.

Why?
What, exactly, has it cost you or anybody you know? Has it hurt the team in any way?

I don't get it. So he rides the bench and never plays. Who cares. So some company gives him money to do nothing. So what. You're mad about literally nothing happening.

A professional athlete is different than a college athlete. At least those fans, will post on twitter about things he did on the court. They won't post on what they think he will do in the future. He is also from Canada so he isn't getting a porsche or paid millions of dollars for sitting on the bench. Fans like you really do make us all look bad. They don't owe you a damn thing. Do everyone a favor and just STFU! If you don't like things, root for another team. I can promise you that no one will miss your dumb ass.
Now who’s the dumb ass ?

Do you realize how selfish it is when you want a KID to play now and risk injury and millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars for a year or year and a half, just so he can play at YOUR school? Especially when he's a potential top 5 pick THIS year, and has a chance of falling to a later pick or even later round if he has an injury or has a rough season? I.e Brandon Boston?

Say you had a business idea that you had been dreaming of your entire life, and started your own company. You had incredible outlook, and you had investors ready to invest in your company and guide you through the process; enough to lock up financial security for your entire future, and you'd be a guaranteed millionaire in half a year. The one caveat being that the outlook of your business has to be as good as it is currently - waiting half a year has no adverse affects on it. But trying to start up and run everything on your own could potentially ruin your business idea.

Are you going to honestly sit here and tell me that you would risk that business? To play for free for a school for 2-3 months?

This isn't a Diallo situation. It's a little above that paygrade.

Would I like if he played for Kentucky? Absolutely. But am I going to talk down on a kid program for what they're doing to secure their future? Absolutely not

Sharpe won't play. Don't delude yourself. And he SHOULD play this season for UK to get some benefit from the money and resources they've spent getting him here. He SHOULD play because he would mean the difference between what we are now, a SS team, and what we could be, a FF team.

But he won't play because his draft status is already secured, and because he doesn't want to risk injury. And because he's already sampled some of that sweet, sweet NIL money, courtesy of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the University of Kentucky's reputation.

And Cal is fine with that, because Cal cares about Draft Night more than he cares about winning.

And don't give me that nonsense about where Sharpe would find minutes. Not until you go back and look at all the players who have played who aren't as good as Sharpe seems to be.

Sharpe is the #1 recruit and now he's a myth. And Cal was riding the crest of the "I LANDED A TOP RECRUIT" wave and now the whole thing is a fraud because Sharpe won't play.

And CALIPARI KNEW that Sharpe was gone next year. He KNEW he was eligible and DELIBERATELY kept that information hidden from the public. HE LIED.

The next time he 'lands' a top recruit, the questions will be, "Is he going to play or not?" And "What did Cal know and when did he know it?"

It's time for Cal to hit the door. I no longer want him here.
So what the F@@k do you want him to do? Not take a chance on the #1 player? I’m sure you’d be happy about that too. Smh

It could but that really isn't the important thing. We need to keep things in perspective from Cals point of view. If Sharpe leaves he's another "recruit" that Cal has "helped" get to the NBA, you know, the thing that really drives Cal and Sharpes contracts will add into Cals goal of helping his players make 2 billion.

Cals goals are most important.
@BigCat241 do you even understand what I was saying?

I honestly can't see what the big deal is. We're a good team without him this year; if he wants to play and Cal can figure out how to get him in, great, but if not, it's kind of a net break-even situation. We were still going to try to recruit for next year regardless, so if he leaves, bring in the next guy.

I just don't see the worth in getting so bent out of shape about stuff you have no control over and may or may not even happen.

These guys are T-shirt fans. They enjoy boasting about all the draft picks in their NBA team subreddits and wearing UK gear and shouting GO CATS.
