Mintz played 33 mpg, but not at point and no, he wasn't initiating the offense, Askew was the main pg, Mintz only played spot minutes while Askew took a blow. I'm not sure what games you were watching last year, but it wasn't UK's games.

A high school junior was brought in to be the starting pg at UK, just think about that.
This isn’t true. For the better part of SEC play Askew would dribble the ball up to half court and hand the ball off to Mintz. There were many threads on here asking why he didn’t that every time.

I call bullshit on this. This didn't happen, if it did, it would have been huge news.
I mean you can just go back and watch the game lmfao. I gave everyone a rough estimate of when it happened. It was also posted on here multiple times and everyone just ignored it.

Well, @MdWIldcat55 and his brigade of shiny happy people are already circling the wagons in such a way as to declare that if Sharpe doesn't play, it's not because Cal didn't try his best to convince him to play.

In their equation, there is no chance Calipari knew that Sharpe wouldn't play at all. It's an impossible scenario for them, and yet it's the most likely one if in fact Sharpe ends up not playing here.
SOS how about the position where people are freaking out saying they know Sharpe won’t play when they are just making panicked assumptions.

For starters, the downside is that Sharpe is benefitting from the resources available at UK (notoriety, NIL, nutrition, weight training, practice development, and individual development) with no reciprocal benefit to UK. In fact, those who argue that UK loses nothing if Sharpe never plays at UK probably have not considered that the videos of his individual workouts we were all drooling over a few days ago, in hindsight, were reps that a player who actually plays may not be getting. Time is a limited commodity with regard to coaching instruction. If it turns out that Cal knew Sharpe would never play, the time spent coaching Sharpe is time lost in coaching a kid who might actually contribute to winning games in the here-and-now. I'm pretty sure players like Hopkins, Collins or Allen might benefit (and likewise, the team would benefit) from some of the extra work and attention that Sharpe is getting.
So you don’t actually know anything, like everybody else complaining? Cool. Next time try to add something.

I am sure that after the first few OADs became successful in the NBA, many people, maybe even yourself, thought that it would never become common place.

At the time we won our last championship in 2012, did anyone think we’d be talking about our players being given Porsches before the tip off of their first game as a freshman?

I hope for all our sake that you’re right. But just because you can’t imagine something today doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen tomorrow
No, I never thought that. That was intrinsic to our strategy when Cal first got here. He knew getting those guys would lead to success, even if they left after one year.

This news and the 40 page thread that has subsequently followed it is like a guy who just got sober and is turning his life around. Enjoying his sobriety and new uplifting and positive outlook on life. He’s out for a stroll in the woods on a crisp, cool autumn morning. The world is shiny and new. He can start his life over again with clarity and happiness.

Then he steps on the world’s biggest hornets nest and gets stung 7,000 times in his nuts and eyeballs. Lol

I don’t get it man. Every person that’s come in here with a differing opinion just wanting to talk ball has been met with a “dumbass” or a “moron.” He really doesn’t say anything he just gets pissed off and starts making things personal.
That’s why I don’t post so much over here… I can only imagine someone new stumbling to this site. It’s gotten so bad in the last couple of years.

Jesus, of course he handed it off to Mintz, he had to, he kept picking up his dribble.

Then… .then, Mintz would hand it off to Brooks, then Brooks would start the weave and it would cycle to Boston and he would shoot it.

You think because Mintz had the ball in his hands, he initiated the offense???? You're joking right?

Your post might be the absolute dumbest post I've ever read on this board and since KL and Bassfan post here, it has to be REALLY stupid to qualify for that honor. Wow.

I don’t really care what you think of my opinion. I just expect adults to act like adults and speak like adults.
Then stop trying to act like you're the fvcking boss and acting like your opinion is more important. The bottom line is, you don't know shit, so you should probably stop trying to talk down to those that do.

It was a joke, it didn’t happen the way you're trying to pretend it did.

The events transpiring around Sharpe are the fuel the people that hate Calipari needed because they aren’t getting much fuel lately since we are having a solid season so far. A loss today, however, and they will feel like they are on top of the world.

Again, stop trying to act like you're the board's boss and @Blueaz , same to you, plenty of people on this board get respectful posts from me, if you talk to me like an asshole, you're going to get it right back.

So I'm the reason you don't post over here that often? Hilarious. Cry me a river.

I report it every time I see it. Mods have been good about removing that stuff. Somebody I reported last week has been mighty quiet posting lately so maybe the mods are giving out some temp bans. This stuff should have been controlled years ago.

Sounds like something from a Stephen King novel.

Just because you can’t understand what I’m saying doesn’t mean I’m talking down to you. I’m actually talking up. I’m trying to elevate your regular standard of speech since you seem to struggle with adult conversation. No one’s acting like a boss. I’m not 7 years old. I don’t complain about someone acting “bossy.”

Where did I ever mention you? But since you thrown yourself in the ring… you should probably get over yourself and lighten up, just sayin

It's funny, I'm not the only one that has told you that you act like you own the board. Maybe you should sit back and think about what's being said to you. You might learn something.

You aren't as important as you think you are.

You said plenty in your little conversation with your buddy Ruan.

Nope lmfao….it’s literally just you and only you.

again what have we lost taking a chance on SS

we may gain a lot, we may not gain anything
but we 100% have lost nothing if he does not play
I read an article from Ben Roberts about it. He interviewed Sharpe's coach and I guess he's sort of the guy that is helping the family. He as pretty blunt in the interview which I like. Check it out.

I will say, I felt a little better about all of this after reading it. But you know, things in a situation can change.
