So all saying it does not hurt UK if he doesn't play....answer this:

Once you focus efforts and take Sharpe at SF/SG....you sort of lose kids that were options A, B, C, etc...

So does it not hurt UK to never play Sharpe and lose out on Keyonte George, Darik Whithead, Brandon Miller, etc.. and any other wing player that we might have gotten if Sharpe commits elsewhwere?

Really happy for the kid. I mean let’s be real, it’s all about what’s best for these kids in the long run and it’s just a game, wins and losses don’t really matter. I hope he goes on to the NBA and makes a fortune and many more top rated recruits come, never play a game, and use as as a stepping stone to get rich. Really happy for him and so proud of Cal.

There’s a weird sense of entitlement with some of these folks. They think the players and coaches personally owe them something. It’s very strange.
I think the current coaches and players owe keeping the greatest college basketball program in history at the top. Previous Players and coaches worked their asses off to get us there.
It’s very strange to me that some folks are okay with certain players and coaches taking advantage of that and losing focus on what so many others have worked so hard to obtain.

Oh go cry yourself to sleep with your Chris Beard pillow we’ll be fine
Beard is a terrible coach but nice try. I’ve been pro Cal even through last year. I’m sure most on here know me as that so don’t even try to make it out like I’ve been calling for his head. But if the worst outcome does come true with Sharpe, it would be hard to support.

If anyone is irritated, they shouldn’t be. For starters, the details of Sharpe’s educational record are none of our business.

Secondly, Cal is legally prohibited from sharing that publicly unless he first received written permission that explicitly authorized him to do so. So even if he wanted to make it known, Cal’s hands were tied.

" educational record" BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA You cant be that dull !!!

It’s Cals program and he can run it as he sees fit. I definitely don’t feel any sense of entitlement. On the flip side, Cal shouldn’t get upset as the size of home crowds keep dwindling.

Under what circumstances would anyone expect a consensus Top 10 pick to either play this year and risk injury or expose a lot of weaknesses...or expect a consensus Top 10 pick who’s eligible for the draft to decide to go to Kentucky instead?

If there’s one thing Cal has done really well it’s create a brand. Not necessarily a brand that’s beneficial anymore. But it’s a powerful one nonetheless.
Why are Smith, Holmgren, and Banchero playing? And have been since game 1.

The answer is John Calipari isn’t their coach or they would be cheering from the bench as well.

The entitlement of some of you is appalling. You actually expect a player who comes here, gets free tuition, food, gear, NIL money, a Porsche etc to play? What a joke. He could get hurt and lose everything.
Having the number one recruit practicing with guys means a lot even if he just uses this place for training and money.
Plus if the nba doesn’t workout he can comeback and get his degree for FREE. Then we can use that as publicity for giving people a second chance. 🙄

Can’t believe people are actually posting stuff like this and then getting upset that people aren’t on board with it.

They didn’t dwindle for the UT game .

There's something very disconcerting with the University of Kentucky head coach's brand not being beneficial to the University of Kentucky.

He may play, he may not
Up to him
He ain’t coming back though.
I thought everyone just kind of knew this?
The problem I have with that is Its NOT up to him .. Cal puts on his big girl panties , walks down to this guy and says " Go in for Brooks" ... if said guy says " No thanks ' you escort him to the locker room and tell him to check rates on both Lyft and Uber for a ride home

So… those are there conjectures on what might happen. You guys are wanting to hang a man before a trial.
Travis Branham is one of the most connected guys in the business and talks to multiple sources around the AAU circuit. When you got guys like him saying that, its not good.

How often has an injury to a top player prevented them from still being taken very close to the same spot they would have been? The injury excuse is BS. If he doesn’t play it is inexcusable and heads should roll. The Auburn kid that got hurt in the NCAA tournament a few years ago still went very high. Injury basically never is an excuse.

I cannot believe some people actually believed this kid would ever step foot on a court with a UK uniform on.

He’s predicted to go #6 in this year’s draft. He would be crazy to step foot on the court for UK this season or come back for next season. He is GONE.

Cal convinced him to enroll right now to get some publicity for UK and the kid. Hate it that we won’t have him next season, but this is where we are with college basketball and Cal.
So tell the number one player in America to go elsewhere? That’s stupid.

We took a chance on him and we might get burned. That’s recruiting these days.

I would enter draft and not play. Why give scouts a chance to pick your game apart.

Go be an NBA fan then if you’re fine with it. We don’t care. Enough of this nonsense.

Some of you want to know why people are sick and tired of Calipari? Quit asking, he invites this crap into this program for his own personal situation with NBA players and UK fans are sick of it.
