Rupp Rafters NBA Legends GM Draft Round 10 Aike OTC

I posted a 30 minute video and said watch up to the 1:40 mark. If anyone wants to watch it all, or even pull up some full games, be my guest.

But pretending like Elgin Baylor wasn’t a terrific jump shooter is absurd. Unless you’re calling Jerry West a liar?

He’s a liar, possibly, almost certainly but then again maybe not. Cover the bases?

Reactions: Aike
“You couldn’t defend Elgin. He had such a good outside shot. He could stare you down. He had a quick jab step. He would catch the ball at the top of the key or further out, and he’d get you going back and forth. He’d just explode by you. He had a nervous twitch. He was very, very hard to defend. Not only was he a good outside shooter, but he had a good deceptive first step. He had incredible strength and could hang in the air with the ball. When you put all those things together, you couldn’t stop him.”

This from former Detroit guard Gene Shue. Apologies if anyone intended to draft Gene Shue.

By the way, there was no incentive for players in Baylor’s day to shoot 24 footers. Doesn’t mean he didn’t have it in him. Guy was a baller.

you rather bird be matchup up with pierce at the 3 right? there’s plenty of good pf’s on the all time list if you look. webber is arguably top 50 in a remix, and most consider top 60 definitely. i had the 62 pick so there you go.

i think webber would struggle with the barkley’s of the world who were just freaks in their prime. but against the malone’s (who chris patterned his game after) and the duncan’s (who he did well against head to head) i think chris would more than hold his own.

Was thinking about taking Webber. Loved him as a player. Can't stand him as a person. What an asshole. Jeez.
Sounds like a lot of us had the same idea this round. I didn’t realize he was still available until right after my last pick. He’s a late 2nd round talent in this format. So picking him up mid 5th is a steal.

Give me Nate Thurmond.

A steal at this point in the draft he is still known as one of the top 50 NBA players all- time. Nate was the first to record a quadruple-double in NBA history in October 18, 1974 at the age of 33 with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocks

“The toughest center for me to play against is Nate Thurmond,” Abdul-Jabbar once remarked.

One of 5 players to finish his career as a 15-15 guy and if he blocks were a stat back then they said it would of been around 2.1 BPG if not better due to the NBA just started keeping that stat during the end of his career.
