Rupp Rafters NBA Legends GM Draft Round 10 Aike OTC

Bob Cousy, giving me the two cornerstones of the greatest dynasty the sport's ever known, as well as the legendary backcourt of West and Cousy, combining the best of the east and west!
I am really liking your team so far. Bill Russell and Bob Cousy, along with Havlicek and Jerry West is a solid group for your first 4 picks.

I"m not sure how it'll play out w/ people voting on the winners (most who'll be voting have never seen those 4 guys play, and may not be as familiar w/ them as more recent players), but I'd really like my chances against any/all w/ a computer simulation deciding the outcome.

I’m gonna do this because it’s just too much fun not to. Give me Pistol Pete in the backcourt with Magic Johnson.

Magic, Elgin, Maravich, and AD. Not sure how anyone could slow that down.

You believe Pete Maravich was the most unguardable player left? Or just the one most voters here would react to?

I think that I needed someone who could fill it up from anywhere on the court, and that’s Pete Maravich.

He did lead the league in scoring before the 3-point shot at 31 a game. Sadly, the 3-pointer never arrived until his last season, when he played a few games in Boston. Oh by the way, he shot 10-15 from three in those few games.

I shudder to think how defenses would try to stop him today. There’s no way. He would be Steph Curry on steroids.

And for all the magic he worked with the ball in his hands creating his own shot, could you imagine him being set up for wide open looks by the real Magic? The fast breaks?? You know you would LOVE IT man!

So the latter. I read ya.

I mean if anyone can stop AI from getting into the lane, Dominique slashing, Kevin McHale in the post and David Robinson doing everything, well, be my guest [winking]:cool2:

To be fair, AI is a meltdown waiting to happen, and David Robinson is soft as toilet paper. But other than that, Nique will have some pretty dunks and at least you have a strong bench with McHale.

Nique dropped 40+ points on Larry Birds head on 19-23 shooting. AI led a 76ers team to a finals appearance with a terrible roster. Charles Barkley called McHale the most unguardable player he's ever faced. David Robinson soft? Dude was built like a tank and dropped a 70 point game. Also owner of a quadruple double. My team is an offensive juggernaut and there's nothing debatable about that

Looks like 4 guys who spend all their time in the lane to me, but what do I know. I mean, if there’s nothing debatable. Sounds pretty official.

AI can shoot from anywhere and Nique had a mid range game and can knock down an open 3, Kevin and DRob all have midrange game. Still haven't drafted my shooting guard but I know who I want if he's still there! Btw I'm just friendly debating with you I'm not trying to be mean or sound angry. I just enjoy friendly debates. ;)

Lol yeah that’s what this is about.

We're through four rounds. There's no threat to anyone yet. Though if you follow it up with Jodie Meeks, well then your lack of shooters is fixed and we're all in trouble.

Somehow I’m thinking that with Elgin Baylor, who is a Kobe-level jump shooter, Pistol, who is Steph, Sr., and AD at the 4, well I’m thinking shooting is zero problem. It’s actually a huge strength. Nice try though.

A Kobe-level jump shooter. [laughing]

Well with Baylor knocking down 22-foot fadeaways and Pete Maravich blocking 5-6 shots a game you won't even need all the touchdowns Magic will score.

I had my eye on him for my second team...would've been my 6th rounder, and provided teh offense for my defensively minded 2nd unit that I've assembled in my mind's eye...
