Rupp Rafters NBA Legends GM Draft Round 10 Aike OTC

In the 12 seasons after he became a full-time starter (including the first), he averaged 24.4 points per game, 6 rebounds, over 4 assists, a steal and a block. His PER in that stretch was 23.

He also shot 38% from three on 1.6 makes per game during those 12 years, including five seasons of 2 makes per game *before* everyone in the league was chucking them up.

He also did all of this while being the greatest dunker in the history of basketball. On a floor full of legends and a tournament full of genetic freaks, this guy is as freaky as any of them. Depending on matchups, I might have the gifs of him dunking on your team's center.

He ranks 22nd in all-time scoring, ahead of Ray Allen and Allen Iverson, and is just a few hundred points behind Jerry West and Reggie Miller.

There have been 9 players to retire with 23,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists. This guy will make number 10 and is a sure-fire future Hall of Famer. He was even 2x all-NBA in the era of Kobe Bryant at the same position.

Give me Half-Man, Half-Amazing. Air Canada. Vinsanity. Vince Carter.

I was probably going to take Walton. But there’s someone else I want more...just couldn’t see passing on Walton.
His commentary skills are what sealed the deal for me lol. Dudes hilarious. And I also really needed a big body. Petit is a beast but he’s only 6’9. I really wanted somebody else but needed someone to guard Kareem, shaq, wilt, etc

Let's go ahead and round out the fastest, most athletic lineup in history.

Let's add the most physically dynamic player to ever play the point guard position. The ultimate competitor. A well-rounded monster who can do everything and thrive in any matchup.

You know the numbers by now, but I'll throw some at you anyway. Folks will cry about the raw totals, so let's check the PER. 25, 29, 28, 31 and 25 in the last five seasons, including being the first since Oscar to average a triple double. He's done in twice. In a row. The 14th best career PER of all time.

He's one of the 30-40 best players of all time and some of the PGs who have come off the board ahead of him are blasphemous. Look at the list of NBA MVPs. Look at the list of PGs to win the award.

You'll see the name Russell Westbrook.

It seems like he makes no one around him better though. He forces way too much.. way too much for me. Reminds me of the guys I hate playing with in pickup ball. But it’s all a matter of opinion.. and Westbrook to some is much greater than to others.

You’re the one who called your lineup the fastest and most athletic ever. Just providing you with some video documentation. Surprised you aren’t thanking me.

Was looking for video documentation of Elgin "Mr Inside" Baylor's all time great jump shooting but all I can find are clips of him shooting hooks and layups over guys who look like me.

I need someone else down low who can also stretch the floor, a mix of power and finesse. I'll take Boogie.

"He was one of the most spectacular shooters the game has ever known," Baylor's longtime teammate Jerry West told HOOP magazine in 1992.

From inside 12 feet, I don't doubt it.

I swear I went to find video footage and actually found clips of Wilt setting screens for him at like 8 feet.

You should watch more footage. Baylor practically invented the modern jumpshot.

Who is he supposed to make better that he didn't? KD went to the Warriors so you can't compare that. Harden left to go be a main option so of course his numbers improved.

I don't want to mention any specific names because they might be drafted but look at some of the Thunder role players with him on the court vs without. Go look at a certain big man who left to play for the Raptors.

Besides, in a draft where everyone is a legend, he'll finally have good teammates he can trust.

I notice no one is worried about Kobe or Iverson or McGrady or Maravich or Wilt or any number of players already taken making guys better. This is a lot more fun if it's not 1-on-13.

This is one of those picks I’m excited to make because he is so underrated, to the point of almost being forgotten. He deserves recognition and respect.

Drafted into an ABA that included the likes of Dr. J, my player was not only rookie of the year, but also MVP in his first season. He was an all star every year, an all defensive teams selection, and helped the Kentucky Colonels bring home a championship.

When the ABA folded, he was the first pick in the ABA to NBA draft, beating out the likes of Moses Malone.

In the NBA, he made 6 more all star teams, was again an all defensive team selection, and led the league in FG percentage 4 straight years. In fact, he’s the NBA’s all time leader in career FG percentage.

Not to mention, standing at 7’2”, he is universally considered one of the strongest men to ever play the game. One of the few men who could go toe to toe with the likes of Kareem and win the physical battle down low.

The absolute perfect player to patrol the paint, block shots, snag rebounds, and hit absolutely everything he throws at the rim (not that I need his scoring).

Give me the A-Train, Artis Gilmore.

Haha respect the argument, we’ll save the rest for later. He has had plenty of good teammates to trust.

I'd love to see it. Post it for us.

You can watch him drain a 20 footer at the 1:40 mark of this video. But you should watch everything leading up to it so you can hear the all time greats calling Baylor the best of all time.

Admittedly, you will see a lot more highlights of his acrobatic drives, but those were a lot more exciting before the advent of the three pointer.

You're one of the smartest, most resourceful posters here and you bring me one made 20-footer in a career highlight tape. I rest my case.

Someone post the Jerry West 60-footer and we're all playing for second place with a guy like that.

I posted a 30 minute video and said watch up to the 1:40 mark. If anyone wants to watch it all, or even pull up some full games, be my guest.

But pretending like Elgin Baylor wasn’t a terrific jump shooter is absurd. Unless you’re calling Jerry West a liar?

DeMar DeRozen is a terrific jump shooter. Just not from range.

Baylor is a great player. He's not spacing the floor. His nickname is Mr Inside. They don't call you that if you're an outside shooter.

But we'll talk more about that when the matchups arrive. For now you grabbed some more Kentucky ties.
