Rupp Rafters NBA Legends GM Draft Round 10 Aike OTC

I really wanted to go with a point guard at this spot, but my two favorites Stockton and Kidd got snatched up earlier than I expected. So I’ll switch strategies and pick up another wing scorer. Ive heard you can never have too many shooters. So I’ll just go and grab the top-2 all-time 3-point shooters, and another career top-25 scorer.

Give me Jesus Shuttlesworth aka Ray Allen

@GonzoCat90 if you do a draft with current players after this I want in. Pretty sure we follow each other on twitter, so I could send picks in advance if i think I’ll be tied up

@UKNorse is going to be a terror to guard. Good luck sending a extra defender to Shaq. On the other hand if the opposing team runs a 1/4 pick and roll against Shaq/Harden comedy could ensue.

Damn you.

Give me the best post player in NBA history. Perfect complimentary piece for David Robinson. I'm taking Kevin McHale

Sorry, I took him second overall.
NBA legends have been quoted saying guarding McHale in the post was one of the most terrifying things they've ever had to do. His moves were unstoppable. Kareem had the sky hook, McHale had everything else.

That's probably because he spent most of his career coming off the bench and was scoring over backups. [laughing]

In 1986 when Boston beat Houston 4-2 in the Finals, McHale led Boston in points, rebounds and field goal pct.

So from 1985-87 in the three Finals he played in as a starter (he was a sixth man in 1984 and seventh in 1981), McHale was arguably the best player on either team. This despite being targeted for fights by Lakers Earvin Johnson, Bob Mcadoo and the belligerent AC Green. His career Finals field goal percentage is near the top all-time, and much higher than Duncan.

Right, because he was the Celtic they let beat them since he wasn't as good as the others.

(I'm mostly busting your balls)

I was hoping he would fall to me but not expecting it.

Oh I know, I am you too! This is what the draft is about building up your team and tearing others down. I'm all for friendly competitive banter :) I'll leave this on one more note ;)

Charles Barkley has often said McHale was the most unstoppable player he ever faced, and is one of the top five players he competed against.

Even former Big 10 and hated Piston foe Isiah Thomas, interviewed several years ago, said he would "take McHale over Duncan." It was a testament to how respected and feared McHale was by the opposition

The best part about Zeke's opinion is he says Kareem is the greatest of all time.

Give me the man who brought 2 championships to the Knicks when seemingly no one else in history can, Walt Clyde Frazier. 7x all defense NBA selection will be useful to go up against the top PG’s in NBA history. While the pick’s been mocked, I was going McHale until he got snipped out from under me.

@gossie21 you’re up

In my opinion the two most universal skills in basketball that translate from generation to generation and across all levels are shooting and rebounding. I already have two of the best shooters of all time locked down. So now I’m going to draft one of the greatest rebounder of all-time. Also one of the strongest defenders ever. He isnt going to give me a lick of offense, but I won't need him to.

Give me the Worm, Dennis Rodman.

I considered another rebounding specialist, but I think Rodman is more elite because he dominated the category at a time when rebounding became a more diversified skill and not just something your 7’ center did.

That is who I was down to when I went with Clyde. Figured my need for PG was more prevalent than the 4 at this point in the draft. Nice pick.

There’s still a few guys out there that are once-in-a-generation type players. You should be fine.

... for a couple rounds still.

I just tripled checked and I think he is still available. I'm taking Elvin Hayes. Guy was an absolute monster. Timmy D and he at the 4-5 good night and god bless.

Bob Cousy, giving me the two cornerstones of the greatest dynasty the sport's ever known, as well as the legendary backcourt of West and Cousy, combining the best of the east and west!
