Ranking the overall strength of SEC East programs

I am one of those that care a lot more about UK football than I do basketball, although it is usually a lot easier to love.

I was really REALLY impressed with your Georgia State game, also really impressed with how lucky you were the rest of the year, amazing your last two games of the year. I sure hope we have a season this year, we have always had a big disadvantage in the trenches-----until now.
I'm not going to make excuses for either the ga. state or the byu game- we got beat by those 2 teams and it should have never happened. Our coaches are to blame (didn't prepare or take seriously enough) , as well as the players (take pride in beating people you should) but you have to give credit for their turn around. Tennessee was much different at the end than at the beginning in all aspects
As for luck, I don't think it was luck stopping the Wildcats- with the game on the line- first and goal at the 4 AND against the best rushing team in the sec. Picture perfect spacing, assignments, gaps filled and tackling. The third and fourth down plays should be hall marked for football teaching academies. Now, make excuses on that.

Warrior eliminating the pitch man was text book. Most defenders would’ve went after Bowden for the heroics.

I'll take bad play call for $100. You know your whole body was puckered up![jumpingsmile][roll]:chairshot:

I mean of course. If the tables were turned, you’d flex that defense. They eliminated Kylin Hill from the game against MSU. Once that defense started bonding, they were stout.

You guys want to see something funny?? Watch Tennessee implode and Derek Dooley melt down...this was without three of our top four players drafted in 1st or 2nd round that year:

Such a dirty team too with the personal fouls and late hits at the end. Then you know what they did? Their AD, Mike Hamilton, backed out of our home and away!! Here's what he said, "The reality is we’re not back to where we want to be back yet." That was in 2010 and we haven't played them again since.

I’d love to play UNC. The only bowl they ever send y’all to with a SEC tie in is the MCB. They don’t put y’all in the Belk hardly even though it’d be a good draw. I’d rather play y’all than Pitt or BYU because it’s easier to go to both venues. And they backed out of a lot of Home and Homes under Ham and dime purse Dave Hart because they made more money at neutral sites and didn’t have to pay an amusement tax. Fulmer is a home and home guy. Hopefully he schedules some VT and UNC and Louisville home and homes.

Are they there yet?

UNCs crowning non conference opponent in the last 5 yrs is some one we play annually. Do you really wanna pull out schedules and measure them?

You play the teams you're scheduled. Well, unless you're UT, then you cancel them when it looks like there's a good chance you'll lose. We try to play an SEC team every year we don't play ND. Auburn, USCe, UGA...in the last four or five years.

Who’d we replace you with? Oregon? OU? Virginia Tech?

I'm afraid you're mistaken. You added Buffalo. Here's the ESPN story on it in cased you missed the BR article that said the same thing:

Like I said. I never liked Hamilton. There’s a reason he’s not an AD anywhere in the country. Not even in HS. You’re bringing up things from a decade ago. Have your AD call Fulmer. I’d bet 1000 bucks he’d fit y’all in on the schedule somewhere.

I hear ya. How much did ya'll pay GA St? I'd say about a million

Here's what you're missing. We're a "basketball" school trying to build a football program. You guys say you're a blue blood.
No one has denied that Tennessee’s struggled since 2008. Guys like Mike Hamilton and Jimmy Haslam wanted to control the program and like most things the Haslams touch, he drove it into the ground. Luckily, like Bama in 07 and UGA in 2001, there’s enough of a history and legacy that’s its much easier to build a program back up than somewhere with no foundation. Like I said, we’ve lost to 3 non power 5/independent teams in my life. Memphis State, Wyoming and Georgia State. Not a lot of schools can say that.

You're forgetting BYU last year. Not that I blame you.

I won't link TOS but go there and look at overall team talent. Tenn is actually close to UF with 30+ four stars, a handful of five stars, but you've been getting blown out by them and UGA. Beating a bunch of non-power 5s and independents isn't exactly something to hang your hat on as a supposed elite football program. Meanwhile, look at what Stoops is doing with about half that on his roster. I bet he'd have UK in the SECCG or close to it with that much talent. I really don't have a dog in the fight, but it's pretty funny you guys trying to flex like we're still in the late 90s. That and ol' Mack is taking you to the shed on the recruiting trail.

You mean in the middle of a coaching change while you were ok with back to back to back losing seasons. If only we didn’t care about football and just let Butch stumble into one good season every decade.

Geez, don't you have fingers, does four straight winning seasons sound like one good season every decade? You don't even have to take your shoes off, thank goodness.

Of course KNOWING we weren't passing the ball and gambling on it had nothing to do with it.

You had 4 good rushers. That 3rd down attempt was mastery. That whole opened up and To’oto’o on a sore knee and all lit your RB up and then a second later, two more defenders were pushing him back. The triple option is predictable in the run/pass categories, yes, but knowing where that ball is going is skill.

I hate to try to educate you but it doesn't matter how many runners you have there is only one ball, and all you have to do is follow it. With a passing game it moves around a whole lot faster.

Stoops has had 7 yrs to Pruitts two and Pruitts already matched his best conference record since you wanna take non con out of the argument. You’re the one that brought up the Georgia State game. That was a disappointment. Doubt we see a game like that again from this team for a very very long time. Recruiting isn’t over until February tho. Maybe even later this year. Win 7 games in a one team conference again and let’s see how that class holds up.

Here is something for you Thug U fans to get upset about:

https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/season/2020/group/8

You don't even make the top half of the SEC, and most of you talk like you are on the verge of dominating the SEC. Pretty sad when ANYONE ranks you below Kentucky, right?

And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they are right.

Go home, if you have one.

I mean numerous programs do well with the triple option offense and they have 250 lbs lineman. Hell when y’all were beating up on Mizzou and Vandy with it, y’all didn’t wanna go back. Now it was stupid to run it in the first place. Thank goodness JG didn’t play both halves, it would’ve looked like 2018 again.
