States like Kentucky already are irrelevant since it always goes red. Three states, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, determined the last election and will determine this one. Electoral college votes should be proportional, not winner take all. Let the small states keep their oversized representation which was the intent of the EC, but let the blue votes in Kentucky and the red votes in California be counted.
The reason markets improved was due to government spending and quantitative easing. Trump will probably push for a stimulus package focused on infrastructure or as i believe he is doing he wants to strike a big deal with China in trade, Hong Kong, Taiwan and North Korea that will act like a stimulus. All of that will be on the table. Past gains in the market though were based on Keynesian principles. There’s still a lot more to mortgage Dems in the house will try to block but maybe trump could grease a few districts. Idk but look for a major move in the next month

It's TRUE that Kentuckys electoral votes dont count for much but they do count. You are against winner take all in the EC but are for winner take all in a popular vote. Doesn't make sense. NYC alone would cancel out KY in a popular vote. You want NYC to decide everything?

And that's what I said in my original post. Someone was complaining about libs and voter IDs and I posted I was fine with it as long as no one has to pay to get them because payment should never be a requirement to vote. No one is too poor to vote. So provide everyone an ID and it's fine. The left really isn't all crazy about voter ID, it's a narrative made up by the right to sell widespread voter fraud as a scare tactic.
What does this mean? What is an alternative to winner take all in the popular vote in a two person race? I'm for keeping the EC and making it proportional, the popular vote is already proportional by nature...

Also the yield curve inversion always happens months before a recession so the talk of recession is unfounded at the moment and it's a ploy by pundits or politicians to panic voters. A yield curve inversion along the 2 and 10 yr spread has happened before the last 7 recessions...so we arent in one or even close if I was to bet. However, we have already had atleast three inversions so just bc one happens doesnt mean a recession and the economy has already weathered production slow downs and bounced back.
Regardless, you are under some false pretense that a president steers a wheel that drives markets...not surprising tho as you think the president should have ultimate power, or atleast I assume, as all the Democrat candidates are discussing things they should be doing as part of the legislative branch (sans Bernie, as hes never really passed anything or even introduced anything as a senator so he wouldn't do it anyway if he knew how to do his job). However, that a president can even apply tariffs shows how broken the legislative branch is.

I think in any market there is opportunity but this market as a whole for a new investor I wouldn’t touch it until the wild swings settle a bit. Stocks in general are over valued right now. Of course whoever votes for the loser is heard. The current EC completely ignores 49% of a state's vote if a candidate wins the state with 51%. Those are the votes not being counted by the EC, not the votes that go to the loser of the election. Every state except Maine and Nebraska award all their EC votes to the winner, even if they barely win the state.
Something tells me $20 for an ID, or whatever it costs isnt the problem. Unless their PS4 controller can vote on the TV it really wont matter.
I live in blue Jefferson county in a red KY. So according to your system, my vote would not be heard even though I voted with most of the state. The only reason lib/dims want the change is because they lose outside the major cities.

The same way Maine and Nebraska already do it. The winner of the state gets 2 EC votes off the top and then the rest are split proportionally. You do understand that your vote in the presidential election is meaningless right? The electoral voters can vote however they want. Right now we have no rules in place for it. Some states threaten penalties if they vote against the popular vote but they can still do it.
